Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.2 Air Drops a New Map, an Aim Assist Rework, and Dozens of Bug Fixes

Battlefield 6 has received the highly anticipated Update 1.1.2.0, which introduces the new Eastwood map, a major rework of aim assist, and dozens of performance and gameplay fixes to EA’s first-person shooter.

Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.2 Air Drops a New Map, an Aim Assist Rework, and Dozens of Bug Fixes

The “California Resistance” update is a significant patch for Battlefield 6 that adds Eastwood across multiple game modes, the new limited-time Sabotage mode, new weapons, a bonus battle pass path, and bug fixes.

Update 1.1.2 also focuses on aim assist and weapon performance, with aim assist reset to its Open Beta settings and weapon accuracy and dispersion tweaked to improve handling across all weapon types.

Eastwood Map and New Content Drop

The centerpiece of the Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.2 is Eastwood, a large-scale map set in a wealthy Southern Californian suburb that promises intense land and air combat in dense residential areas and open landscapes, including tanks, helicopters, and the new Golf Cart.

Eastwood rolls out across all official modes, including the new limited-time Sabotage mode focusing on demolition and counterplay.

There’s all-new content too, including the introduction of the new DB-12 Shotgun and M357 Trait Sidearm. Portal receives the new Sandbox mode and Golf Cart vehicle, and there are new underbarrel attachments and a California Resistance bonus path in the Battle Pass.

The Critical Aim Assist Overhaul

Since launch, console players in particular have complained that aim assist felt inconsistent and ineffective in mid and long-range fights. To address the issue, BF6 Update 1.1.2 reverts it to the Open Beta settings.

This change makes high-zoom aiming feel smoother and easier to control, while keeping “aim slowdown consistent across all ranges,” which the developers say will help with muscle memory and provide a more reliable experience in the future.

Weapon Consistency and Gameplay Polish

Beyond the new content and aim assist tweaks, the Battlefield 6 patch delivers major global adjustments to weapon accuracy and dispersion to fix “unintended” weapon dispersion, enhancing the accuracy of non-Recon sniper rifles and reducing dispersion across all weapon types.

The developers have also given a “major polish pass” to all deployable gadgets, which should improve consistency and offer fewer bugs when deploying equipment.

There are also quality-of-life changes to make challenge and progression requirements easier to understand. Additionally, there are fixes to controller settings, vehicle handling, single-player modes, and the UI.

Final Verdict: Is Update 1.1.2 Enough to Save BF6?
