Battlefield 2042 – Open Beta Announced For October

EA has announced that the Battlefield 2042 open beta will start October 6 for anyone who has pre-ordered the game and 0ctober 8 for everyone else.

WHEN IS THE BATTLEFIELD 2042 BETA?

The Battlefield 2042 open beta runs October 6-9 for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms, with EA Play members and those who pre-order the game receiving two-day early access.

BF 2042 Open Beta Dates:

• EA Play Members (October 6-9)
• Pre-Orders (October 6-9)
• Open Beta (October 8-9)

The pre-load for the beta starts October 5, so make sure to download the game before the start date and not waste precious playing time.

WHAT MAPS AND MODES ARE INCLUDED IN BATTLEFIELD 2042 OPEN BETA?

During the open beta, you can check out the new Orbital map and wage war at the site of a rocket launch.

The map is previewed in the trailer above and supports 128 players on Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players are limited to 64 player matches.

The game mode during the beta is Conquest, the classic Battlefield sandbox mode that will see two teams battle for control points to run the other team’s tickets down.

WHAT CLASSES CAN I PLAY IN THE BATTLEFIELD 2042 OPEN BETA?

Battlefield 2042 will not feature classes; instead, players will assume specialists’ roles, and there are four in the beta.

BF 2042 Open Beta Specialists:

• Mackay: Outdoorsman
• Falck: Support
• Casper: Recon
• Boris: Engineer

Each Specialist has unique perks, so make sure to play as each of them to find your perfect role in your squad.
