Battlefield 2042 Early Access Underway; Won’t Have Voice Chat When It Launches

Battlefield 2042 launches November 19th worldwide, while its Early Access run for eligible players is currently underway.

Battlefield 2042 is available now for players who pre-purchased the game’s Gold or Ultimate Edition, as well as those who are subscribed to EA Play Pro. The full experience opened to these players as of November 12th.

EA Play, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also get a 10-hour trial in the Early Access run.

Battlefield 2042 Worldwide Launch Times

The game opens its doors for everyone else on November 19th. Pre-loading for the game is already available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Battlefield 2042’s Voice Chat Won’t Be Available at Launch

DICE revealed through Polygon that Battlefield 2042 won’t be launching with voice chat. Instead, it will be added at a later date. The developer did not mention when they are planning to add it, or the reason why they decided to not include it on launch day.

Players are advised to use other communication channels instead such as Discord their consoles’ party chat when playing with friends. Playing with strangers will be a challenge, though, so you would have to rely on the game’s ping system.
