Battlefield 2042 – Classic Maps Return and Battle Royale Mode Revealed

Battlefield 2042 launches later this year and DICE have revealed more about what to expect during EA PLAY Live 2021 Spotlight, including the return of classic maps and a battle royale-like game mode.

FAVORITE MAPS RETURN

EA DICE have revealed that favorite fan maps will see a return in Battlefield 2042 but have not confirmed which maps.

Fortunately, game insider and leaker Tom Henderson tweeted which six maps will be available in the game.

The six maps that Tom Henderson says are coming to the game are:

• Metro
• Wake Island
• Siege of Shanghai
• Arica Harbor
• Caspian Border
• Locker

Again, EA or DICE have not confirmed the rumors, and we will have to wait until EA Play Live 2021 on July 22 to know more details.

BATTLEFIELD 2042 HAZARD ZONE

Fans have wanted a battle royale mode in a Battlefield game for a long time, and DICE has somewhat delivered by promising us a high-risk squad-based game mode.

During the recent EA PLAY Live 2021 Spotlight, DICE’s Oskar Gabrielson said that the mode is “not your classic battle royale” but that it will have high stakes and high tension.

Hazard Zone will be revealed later this year, ahead of Battlefield 2042’s release date.

NEW BATTLEFIELD 2042 GAME MODE TEASED

We know about three game modes in Battlefield 2042, All-Out Warfare, Hazard Zone, and an unknown third.

Tom Henderson, however, claims that the third game mode will be called Battle Hub, and it’s in this mode that we can play those classic maps previously mentioned.

Henderson claims that Battle Hub is a place to play all our favorite maps from previous Battlefield games but using the Battlefield 2042 engine.

EA have only commented on the new game mode, saying that it’s created as a “love letter” to core fans and is a “new way to play Battlefield.”
