Battle Chasers Nightwar won’t be arriving on Nintendo Switch consoles at the same time as other platforms. The announcement from developer Airship Syndicate was made in a Kickstarter update just days before the scheduled launch on 3 October.

The delay is caused by an incompatibility that exists between the Unity engine and the said console. And although the developers insist that the delay won’t be significant, they can’t give a specific release date yet as they await updates to the Unity engine.

The developers also released a new trailer focused on one of the playable characters — Knolan. The video is the first in a series of “Hero Spotlights” released to celebrate the game’s upcoming launch. The video shows off Knolan’s magical abilities, from single-target fireballs to AOE shadow tentacles, and much more. You can check out the video below.

Battle Chasers Nightwar is a role-playing game featuring an open overworld with randomly generated dungeons and classic JRPG combat. It is based off of the Battle Chasers comic book series that became very popular but suffered greatly from scheduling issues.

The game was opened for crowdfunding on Kickstarter about 2 years ago and successfully surpassed its goal of $500,000, raising over $850,000 by the end of the campaign.

Battle Chasers Nightwar will still make it’s way to PC, Mac, Xbox One and PS4 as scheduled on 3 October.

Disappointed by the delay? Glad it’s still coming to your platform on time? Excited to rain magic on enemies as Knolan? Let’s talk about it in the comments below.
