Batman: Arkham Shadow Sequel in Development, Reveals Actor
The Dark Knight is set to return with an all-new game, as Oculus’ VR-exclusive title, Batman: Arkham Shadow, is reportedly in development. Arkham Shadow was developed by Camouflaj and launched for the Oculus Meta 3 VR headsets in October 2024.
In a recent interview with Culture Combine, actor Mark Rolston spoke about his roles in various games, including Spider-Man 2, before revealing that he was to begin working on a new Batman: Arkham Shadow game.
Other than Rolston’s comments, we have no confirmation of a sequel (or prequel) to 2024’s Arkham Shadow, but another entry in the Arkham series will have the fans buzzing with excitement.
The Reveal – How We Know a Sequel Is Coming
Actor Mark Rolston, who plays Commissioner Gordon in the original 2024 VR game, told Culture Combine, while speaking about how he performs the voiceover and motion capture for the characters he plays, said: “Same thing with the Batman Arkham Shadow VR game. We’re about to start another one of those. I play Commissioner Gordon.”
Warner Bros. and Comouflaj have not confirmed a new Arkham game, but if we go off Rolston’s comments, it’s likely another VR title in the Arkham series is coming soon.
What Fans Can Expect from an Arkham Shadow Sequel
Batman: Arkham Shadow is a VR-exclusive title for the Meta Quest 3, and is designed to offer a free-flowing combat system with gesture-based controls that respond when a player punches, grabs, blocks, and performs a movement.
With any VR title, fans can expect some exploration, recognizable gadgets, such as Batarangs, a grapple gun, and possible detective vision.
Arkham Shadow is set before Batman: Arkham Origins, with developer Camouflaj focusing on a younger and inexperienced Batman. A sequel could expand on this story and build on what we know as Batman today.
