A report by GameRant reveals that Apple is working on creating its very own video game console. This comes a few weeks after Microsoft buys out Activision Blizzard, which had the industry thinking what could be the possible consequences of this move.
According to the report, Windows Central’s Jez Corden appeared in an episode of The Xbox Two podcast, and there he revealed he has been hearing “some mumblings about Apple creating its own console.” He also further revealed that Apple has been “poaching” Xbox engineers in order to lay out the console’s specs.
Corden said the rumor has been floating around for a while, and that although his sources are not the best, he believes that the rumor is strong enough to believe that Apple is indeed making its own console.
He also added that some rumors say the console could be VR-oriented, and that it could include “some sort of metaverse implementation.” He said that Apple is considering a lot of different ideas, but he’s not sure whether this console could ever come to fruition, or if Apple already dumped the plan.
Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard really took the video games industry by storm. Xbox CEO Phil Spencer even had to clarify that Call of Duty won’t be leaving Playstation, after rumors floated that the game could become an Xbox exclusive. Microsoft is indeed a giant in the scene, but having another competitive player entering the market would sound really interesting.
What do you think would be cool to add in Apple’s console, should they decide to continue building it? Let us know in the comments below!

Lol why, consoles cant last much longer anyway, I’d bet either the next gen, or the gen after that of consoles will instead just be pre-built pc’s, maybe with the PlayStation and xbox store instead of steam.
