Anima Project announces Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster coming at the end of 2025

Anima: Gate of Memories is the third-person action series developed by the Anima Project team. A Spanish indie team from Valencia, offering an experience based on the Anima tabletop series. Anima Game Studio’s franchise set in the world of Gaïa, inspired by the 2005 Anima: Beyond Fantasy tabletop game. The first chapter came out in 2016 and the second game, The Nameless Chronicles, was released in 2018.

The first features the duo of Ergo and The Bearer of Calamities, while the second has you playing as an unnamed hero. Offering an action RPG with a strong hack & slash component that intrigued many. Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster – The Official Announcement

With a surprise announcement on June 3, 2025, the Anima Project team returns after a long silence. Announcing Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster. A double remaster of the two action RPG chapters of Gate of Memories from the Anima series.

Accompanied by the announcement trailer showcasing the new graphic overhaul, which also brings numerous gameplay tweaks along with new additions. Confirming the game’s release by the end of 2025 on Steam, with a launch in 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

 

What We Know About the Anima: Gate of Memories Remaster

From what’s been shared by the development team so far, the remaster will offer a visible graphical upgrade with an updated version of Unity and will be available only on next-gen consoles, as well as PC. Expect a series of gameplay improvements and controls, as well as new difficulty levels.

It will definitely be interesting to see the gameplay improvements, especially considering the game was often criticized for its unbalanced difficulty and clunky controls, mostly visible in the first chapter.
