Following the announcement of their participation at TGS 2025, the team at NetEase and Naked Rain dropped a surprise Gameplay Trailer for the long-awaited Urban Action RPG, Ananta. Let’s check out what’s new together!
Ananta is the Open-World Action RPG in development by the Naked Rain team at NetEase Games. A studio from Hangzhou, China, that’s making its debut with this new title. It was first revealed in August 2023 as Project Mugen.
It was later renamed at the end of 2024 to Ananta, with the premiere in December. And 2025 is shaping up to be a big year for the game with some new official details and demos. This ambitious title is confirmed to be coming to PS5, PC, and mobile devices, but the release date is still to be announced.
Ananta: NetEase Drops the First Gameplay Trailer
Almost a year after the last official news on Ananta, NetEase and the Naked Rain team are back with some fantastic news. With the first announcement in over 9 months since 2024, they’ve revealed for the first time the Gameplay Trailer for the Urban Action RPG, which will be Free-to-Play.
They dropped an explosive gameplay trailer on 23 September 2025. Taking us to the futuristic city of Nova City. In an over 7-minute showcase that shows off Ananta’s rich and living open world. Plus an interesting mix of anime-style open-world experiences from games like GTA and Marvel’s Spider-Man, with a touch of Sci-Fi and a lot of quirky humor.
Ananta: New Details from the Trailer and Latest News
The new gameplay trailer definitely impressed and excited many fans who were eagerly awaiting new info. The NetEase team delivered a jam-packed trailer that introduces us to the colorful cast of characters like Taffy, Richie, and Seymour. But most importantly, a Nova City that’s extremely alive and full of activities. A true open-world experience heavily inspired by the GTA formula.
With some scenes in particular, like the video selfies, that are reminiscent of what’s been shown in the trailers for the highly-anticipated GTA 6. And the latest news from an interview with Famitsu confirms the absence of a Gacha system for characters, who will be unlockable, leaving only cosmetic items and cars to obtain. Meanwhile, in a big surprise, NetEase has confirmed the game will be in the lineup at Tokyo Game Show 2025, complete with a playable Demo.
