Fallout 76 Free In-Game Items Revealed

The Fallout 76 in-game store is cycling its items both in and out. There are three new limited-time free items available starting on January 7th which are the Nukashire Party Poster, the Sheepsquash Ate My Brother poster and the Pioneer Scouts poster. These items were actually available before, coming with the Appalachia update. An item that is coming back is the Nukashine Power Armor Paint and an item that is leaving for good is the Mr. Fuzzy Ride.


Borderlands 3 Gets New Trinkets with Twitch Prime

Twitch Prime has announced a lot of things are coming to the service, the most notable are the three golden keys as well as a free trinket for the game Borderlands 3. GTA Online will also get something which is the “Cyber Attack” skin and Red Dead Online will give players a Polished Copper Still for the Moonshine update. Also, there are free Developer Digital games like Enter the Gungeon, Ape Out, Witcheye, Heave Ho and Gato Roboto.


Bloodstained DLC Release Window Held Back

Players of Bloodstained are waiting for the game’s DLC to come out. 505 Games launched the game back in June 2019 but it came with some bugs that needed to be fixed. What happened though is that for every platform of the game, the updates were not synced, meaning that one platform had the most recent update while the others lacked it. The developer said that once they get all games synced they can now release a DLC, but no concrete date was given for that.


Epic Games Store Free Games Revealed

The Epic Games Store is giving out free games from THQ Nordic and Ubisoft. The games are available right now up until January 9th. PC gamers are able to get their hands on Darksiders Warmastered Edition, Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition and Steep. The Darksiders Warmastered Edition comes with higher quality textures and rendering improvements and the Deathinitive Edition of Darksiders 2 comes with better visuals for the game and its DLCs.


Watch Dogs Legions to Launch Sometime After March 2020

Ubisoft’s hacker-centric open-world game Watch Dogs is getting a third entry for the series and it is called Watch Dogs: Legions. The game had been announced during E3 2019. Legions basically revolve around the same ideas with the previous, like hacking the planet, being able to deactivate or even activate security cameras and so on. Watch Dogs Legions had been previously announced to be launching on March 2020, however, a new announcement said that the game will be delayed.


Call of Duty League to Get New Format

The format of the Call of Duty League has been altered by Activision Blizzard right before the inaugural season gets underway. This time around it will have a tournament-based format that will start in its second week which is hosted in London, UK. The previous format had its teams travel across the country or even internationally just to play a single series. No details had been shared for the new format as of yet.


PlayStation Now New Games Announced

PlayStation Now, Sony’s subscription service has announced the big games that they will be adding for the month of January. These games will only be available for a limited amount of time starting on January 2nd. To start the list off is Horizon Zero Dawn with the Frozen Wilds expansion plus some bonus content. Another game that is available is Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Both games will be available until April 7th. Overcooked 2 has been listed as well but it has no expiration date for it.


WWE 2K20 Bug Activated During the New Year

If you were playing WWE 2K20 through the new year, you may have noticed that the game crashed whenever you are selecting most of the game modes, this includes both online and career. Apparently, the game is affected by something similar to the Y2K bug where the game cannot properly detect the year 2020. The complaints reached 2K Games and was reportedly able to fix the problem, however, numerous players are still having the same issues.


Super Kirby Clash Out Now for the Switch

Nintendo America has announced via a Tweet that Super Kirby Clash is now available for the Nintendo Switch and is completely free to play. The Tweet included a special inspirational music video to celebrate the game’s launch. The wholesome song that comes with the video has slightly borko lyrics but features Kirby’s fighting spirit very well!


COD: Modern Warfare Mode Grind Added Back

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has revived a new mode which is called Grind. This mode is a combination of objective modes as well as that of the Team Deathmatch. Grind was first seen in Call of Duty: Ghosts. The mode will have players collecting dog tags dropped in the field by either their enemies or teammates. The dog tags must be deposited in a certain area. If killed, all the dog tags you collected are dropped. No news if this is only available for a limited time only.


Borderlands 3 Event Postponed

Gearbox previously announced that Borderlands 3 will be getting an event with a scaled difficulty slider. This won’t be launching any time soon though as Gearbox twitted that the event had been delayed “due to technical issues” and that it is “being postponed to a later date”. Originally the event was supposed to run from December 31st up until January 16th. The new announcement shared that more information will be available after the New Year.


Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Hosts Melee Tournament

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate kicks off the new year with a tournament dedicated to Super Smash Bros. Melee. The tournament is aptly called “A Tribute to Melee.” 13 playable characters are available in the tournament, including Dr. Mario, Peach, Mewtwo, Young Link, and Zelda. it also features 20 stages for players to fight in, including Yoshi’s Story, Pokémon Stadium, Mushroom Kingdom II, and more. As per tradition, players will be fighting for dominance within a 2.5-minute time limit. A Tribute to Melee kicks off January 3rd and ends January 6th.


Microsoft Flight Simulator Shows Off Winter Elements in New Trailer

Microsoft and Asobo have released a new trailer for Microsoft Flight Simulator, showing off the game in winter elements. The trailer shows how snow changes the look and feel of the game’s landscape as it covers everything in white. It also shows how the devs worked on making it as realistic as possible by leaving some areas with dark gaps which shows that snow don’t accumulate on them. Microsoft Flight Simulator is slated to launch this year for PC and Xbox One.


January 2020’s PS Plus Games Revealed

Sony has announced PlayStation Plus’ January offering! This month, PS Plus members can get Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Goat Simulator for free. The offer will be available from January 7th until February 3rd. While waiting, members still have time to get Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Game until January 6th.


Fortnite Rings in the New Year with a Free Glider for Players

Epic Games dropped a gift for Fortnite players to celebrate the new year — but there’s a catch! Players must complete the challenge of heading to different beaches and set off fireworks. The challenge can be acquired from the Winterfest Lodge. Players need only set off a single firework to complete the challenge in any one of the following locations: Sweaty Sands, Dirty Docks, and Craggy Cliffs. Completing this will reward players with a 2020 glider. The challenge ends January 7th.


Switch Outsells SNES in Worldwide Sales

The Nintendo Switch has outsold Super Nintendo Entertainment System’s worldwide sales, according to a report by VGChartz. The Switch has sold 961,543 for the last week of December, bringing its lifetime worldwide sales to 49.79 million units. The SNES had a lifetime worldwide sales of 49.10 million units. The report shows that the Switch had higher sales in the United States, and Europe follows next. Japan came in third.


AMID EVIL Receives RTX Update

Developer New Blood Interactive has released AMID EVIL’s highly-anticipated NVIDIA RTX update. This means the game now supports raytracing technology, improving lighting and reflections. Take note, though that the implementation is still in beta, and should be considered a work in progress, so expect a few bumps here and there. To enable the RTX test, players need to go to the Steam game properties for AMID EVIL and enter the password AmidRTX12345.


Meditations Offers One Indie Game for 365 Days

Game launcher, Meditations, is offering one game daily for a full year. The program’s goal is to load “a small game and an accompanying text as a meditation, distraction, lesson, or inspiration for that day.” The games offered daily are only available for that particular day, so if you missed it, you’ll have to wait another year to play it. Meditations has received contributions from over 350 developers, including Minit’s Kitty Calis, and Return of the Obra Dinn’s Lucas Pope. The Meditations loader can be downloaded from meditations.games.


Suda51 Teases Release Window for Hotel Barcelona

Suda 51 has posted a tweet which looks like a teaser of the release window of its upcoming horror game, Hotel Barcelona. According to Suda 51’s tweet, there’s a possibility that the game would be releasing in 2021. He’s working with video game director Hidetaka Suehiro, also known as SWERY or Swery 65. As of this report, there’s very little information about Hotel Barcelona, other than it being a horror game. It was announced back in October 2019 and will be published by Devolver Digital.


The Witcher Gets a “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher” Cutscene Mod

The Witcher Series’ “Toss a coin to your Witcher” has taken fans by storm. Its popularity has made Beat Saber include it on its song list. Now a modder named ‘hub997’ has released a mod for The Witcher which changes cutscenes from The New Narakort and Murky Waters. The mod adds the popular “Toss a coin to your Witcher” cutscene to the game, and the modder also added life to NPCs and synchronized Dandelion’s on the lute with the song. The mod is only available in the first Witcher game.


VR Game Boneworks Sells Over 100k Units in its First Week

Stress Level Zero’s physics-based VR game Boneworks has reportedly sold over 100,000 units in the game’s first week, raking in a revenue of 3 million Dollars. Boneworks is only available on Steam, and these numbers are quite a feat considering how it’s only available in one platform. In comparison, another VR game, “I Expect You to Die,” also cleared 3 million last year, but it covers all platforms. The game is in the running for best-selling VR game.


Host Chris Puckett Won’t Be Returning for Overwatch League 2020

Host Chris Puckett has announced that he will not be joining Overwatch League 2020 as its host as he will be working as a freelance host who will cover a variety of other games. The announcement was done through a video he posted on his Twitter account on January 1st. He mentioned that his wife has earned a promotion and he will be moving back to New York in order to support her. This means he won’t be at the West Coast to host the event. He has been host for the Overwatch League, along with Malik Forte, for the last two years.
