OCTOBER 8 PART 1
Black Ops 4 Maps Coming at Launch Revealed
The list of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 maps was revealed and it includes a lot of multiplayer maps, with some remakes and a lot of originals. Unless Treyarch would be making some changes, these are the maps that will be available in the game: Originals are Arsenal, Contraband, Frequency, Gridlock, Hacienda, Payload, Seaside, Icebreaker, Morocco and Militia. Remakes are Firing Range, Jungle, Slums, and Summit. The Post-launch is Nuketown. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches on October 12 for PC, PS4 and XBox One.
RUST Reveals Cargo Ship Event
RUST has a new event called the Cargo Ship event where it will be available periodically about two to four in-game days. This is the CCSC Lazarus and it will be approaching the island at about 200 meters offshore. Players get to loot this massive ship but first, they have to board it using a boat and kill the Scientists that are guarding it. Hack the two code-locked crates and defend the ship while doing so. Escape via the RHIB at the rear of the boat once the radioactive waste on the ship gets unstable.
Halo 5 and Halo: Master Chief Collection Get New Updates
New updates are still coming to Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo 5: Guardians. Even though these games have been here a while, Microsoft is still actively releasing updates for it on a semi-regular basis. Halo 5 was able to get the “Big Team Super Fiesta” playlist which is an over-the-top mode where players are able to spawn randomly with primary and secondary weapons. The Halo MCC, on the other hand, is getting a “mixtape” style playlist and details for it will be coming soon.
Island Battles Coming to Total War Warhammer 2
A free update for Total War: Warhammer 2 will include island battles to resolve naval battles. The DLC is called Curse of the Vampire Coast. Instead of auto-resolving naval encounters, both armies will be dropped off on an island and the fight will be resolved like any regular land-based encounter. A special map is included for attacking a Black Ark at sea and its land-based battle will take place on the Ark itself under the Dark Elf architecture. Curse of the Vampire Coast will launch on November 8.
Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker’s First DLC Character Revealed
Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker gets its very first DLC and it brings Jiraiya into the game as a playable character. The DLC is called the Special Master-Ninjutsu Training Vol. 1 and it will include some ninjutsu and cosmetics. Jiraiya will have the Ninja Art: Needle Jizo and Toad Oil Bombs. He also has a special summoning technique which is called the Bring Down the House Jutsu where he summons a gigantic frog to crush his enemies with. The ninjutsu will also be available for your custom avatar.
Space Hulk: Tactics Out October 9th
Space Hulk: Tactics launches on October 9th and it will be available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Its launch trailer has been released and you will see a planet being obliterated. The game will have two non-linear campaigns and each has a new story as well as a new card system. Players are able to customize four Space Marine chapters as well as four Genestealer Hive Fleets for play. A mission editor has also been featured to create your own maps.
Resident Evil 2 Gameplay Showcases Claire
Get to watch 30 minutes of PlayStation 4 gameplay for Resident Evil 2 courtesy of Capcom. Without going into so much detail, as it could spoil it for the most of you, the video features Claire going against a monster with a tumor-like eye on its shoulder. The monster is quite hard to kill, especially if you don’t know what to do with it. Resident Evil 2 is the remake of the old survival horror game of the same name. It will launch on January 25th, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Just Cause 4 Enemy Types Introduced
Just Cause 4 received a new Spotlight Video that tells us all about the game’s different enemy types. This new video by Square Enix and Avalanche Studios focuses on The Black Hand which is an enemy militia that inhabits Solis. It highlights the many enemy types like the Ghost that can turn invisible and the Titan which is like a tank and more. We also get a glimpse of Gabriela Morales who is The Black Hand’s leader. Just Cause 4 is scheduled to launch on December 4th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Major Mars or Die Update Adds New Campaign, Game Mode, and More
Mars or Die is getting a new major update that will come with a new game mode, campaign and other features. 34BigThings, the developer of the game, said that the major update will come with new alien units, defensive structures, a new campaign, some revised mechanics as well as a new hardcore mode. Valerio Di Donato, 34 BigThings CEO, said that the game had received some negative reception and the developers were downhearted. To boost the team’s morale they thought of ways to make improvements.
After the Collapse Comes to Steam Early Access
After The Collapse will be launching on Steam Early Access. The devs plan to keep the game in early access for four to eight months depending on the feedback that they will receive as well as the content stability. Of course, development will still continue and free content patches will be available. During this time the devs will work on modding tools, an underground layer, a world map, deeper interaction, more involved diplomatic and scavenging systems, raw content, and so much more.
Heroes and Generals Gets Its Biggest Update
The free-to-play World War 2 MMO Heroes and Generals by Reto-Moto received its biggest update ever. Huge changes are to come with the update as some of the core elements of the game had been removed to accommodate the changes, upgrades, and implementations that the devs made. The update is called ‘Deploy! Drive! Destroy!’ it has lots of rebalancing for the game’s 70 vehicles for the soldiers. It will come with new armor as well as a new damage system. Skybound Games to Finish The Walking Dead: The Final Season
Robert Kirkman, the creator of the original Walking Dead comic series, has announced that Skybound Games will be taking over and finish The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Skybound Games is a division of Skybound Entertainment where Kirkman sits as Chairman. Kirkman said in a panel during New York Comic Con that they have successfully negotiated this with Telltale, and that the original team who worked on the game will also be working with Skybound.
Okami Earns Another Guinness World Records Award
Okami has earned another Guiness World Records Award as “the most critically acclaimed video game starring an animal character.” This award is the second award the game received from Guiness. The first one was awarded back in 2006 where the game received the “least commercially successful winner of a Game of the Year award” title. The award was given at Capcom’s panel during this year’s New York Comic Con.
Warriors Orochi 4 Has Already Sold Over 90% of Its Copies in Japan
It appears like Warriors Orochi 4 will get sold out soon in Japan, as reports say the game has already sold over 90% of its initial copies in Japan. The report came from Media Crate which also reported that the game sold over 124,000 copies across all its platforms -100,831 on the PlayStation 4, and 23,660 copies on the Nintendo Switch. In comparison, Dynasty Warriors 9 sold 70.59% of its initial copies in its first week, although it debuted with 117,495 units for the PS4.
New Call of Juarez Game Possibly in the Works
A new Call of Juarez could be coming as some hints of it were seen recently. First of all the Call of Juarez Facebook page made an update for the first time in more than five years. The banner was changed and it shows the main character Silas Greaves that has a tagline saying “Legends never die”. One other image has been posted and it features Greaves standing on a canyon with a quote “I haven’t been here in many years. Name’s Silas Greaves.” No official announcement has been made as of right now.
RimWorld 1.0 Release Date Announced
RimWorld, the sci-fi colony simulator from Ludeon Studios, will be officially releasing its 1.0 version on Wednesday, October 17th, the company has announced. The game has been in Early Access for the past five years. The company also added that not much has changed in the game since its Beta version 19, but version 1.0 will bring tons of bug fixes as well as one significant new feature which is the ability to control and restrict what people can eat.
Hearthstone Team Disqualified from Global Games for Stream Sniping
The Chinese Taipei Hearthstone team has been disqualified from the Hearthstone Global Games. The disqualification was due to ‘stream sniping’ where players watch the broadcast of the event to gain the upper hand over their opponents. The evidence was found in an uploaded video by the team that showed members of the Chinese Taipei team saying that a certain card in so longer available in the opponent’s hand because it was earlier discarded. The team was investigated and disqualified.
Devil May Cry 5 Gets New Cowboy Hat Weapon
Capcom revealed a new weapon which will be coming to Devil May Cry 5 during its panel at the New York Comic Con. The new weapon is the Faust Hat which looks like a cowboy hat that has eyes. When equipped, the hat will come with a scarf that looks similar to the one Faust wore in Devil May Cry 4. This scarf is made out of orbs, and the length of the scarf will be determined by the number of orbs you have. Devil May Cry 5 launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 8, 2019.
Fortnite Rewards Creators with Real Cash in New Event
Epic Games announced Fortnite’s newest event which will involve content creators on Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, and other platforms. The event, called “Support a Creator,” will let content creators earn real-world money when their fans spend V-bucks in the game. Fans will need to visit the Item Shop from the event’s menu, and add their chosen creator’s Epic tag in order for the creator to earn money. This event will run until December 31st.
Monster Hunter World Announces Zorah Magdaros Event
Monster Hunter World has announced the Zorah Magdaros event which will start on October 18th and will run through November 1st for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The event will have players fight off the Arch-tempered Zorah Magdaros. Arch-tempered monsters are actually harder to beat than those of the standard monsters. Zorah Magdaros is a huge creature, sometimes called the “Scorching Mountain Dragon”. This monster is an Elder Dragon that was first introduced to us in the earlier part of the game.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider Brings in Co-op Dungeon in New DLC
The very first Shadow of the Tomb Raider DLC has been revealed and it shows a lava-filled dungeon played in co-op. The DLC is called The Forge which is free for those who own the Season Pass, or can be purchased separately. This includes the story details of another character as well as a “danger long thought to be lost in flame.” The Forge is planned to be a seven-part monthly DLC series having new adventures, outfits, co-op challenges, and more. The Forge will be out on November 13th.
Psychological Horror Game S.O.N. Gets New Gameplay Trailer
RedG Studios released a new trailer for their upcoming psychological horror game called S.O.N. or South of Nowhere. The game is a PlayStation 4 exclusive and will be coming on December 11th. The story is about Robert Alderson who is searching for his missing son. The game takes place in a forest in Pennsylvania called “South of Nowhere”. You will be using a radio which would tell you if you are close to something. The first few seconds of the video could already send chills down your spine.
