NOVEMBER 8 PART 1

New Override Mech City Brawl Dev Update Details Improvements after Closed Beta

After getting community feedback from the closed beta, Modus Games has now released a new developer update video for their upcoming mech brawler, Override Mech City Brawl. The video discusses some of the glaring problems the community reported and what the devs did to address them. These include balance changes, some new toggle options to customize matches, and a few quality of life improvements. Override is set to release on December 4th for PC, Xbox One and PS4.


Capcom to Focus on Future of Monster Hunter World on PC

Capcom has released a summary of its investor Q&A and its six-month financial report ending September 30th. The report confirms that Monster Hunter World has shipped over 10 million units since launch and continues to be a driving force for the company’s earnings. As for the future of the title, the publisher revealed plans for promotional events outside of Japan and a shift in focus towards the PC version of the game. We’ll have to wait to see exactly what that means for PC gamers.


PUBG Gets New Competitive Sked and Global Championship Event

It looks like PUBG is finally ready to develop its pro scene with PUBG Corp. unveiling its plans to expand the game’s eSports infrastructure globally. Seven new leagues have been announced for Korea, China, Japan, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Oceania, and the combined Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong and Macau regions. These will join the previously announced National PUBG League in North America and the PUBG Europe League. The Global Championship will see the top teams from all 9 regions compete for the top prize.


Fortnite Gets New Battle Royale Limited Time Mode

The Halloween-themed limited-time event Fortnitemares might be over, but the spooky creatures that came with it are sticking around for another Battle Royale limited-time event. Dubbed as Team Terror, the mode pits two teams of thirty-two in a last team standing match but with the added excitement of PvE as Cube Monsters spawn around the map all throughout the match. These monsters also drop loot at a boosted rate. Blitz, another limited-time event, is also returning this week.


WWE 2K19 Pre-Order Characters Available Now

The pre-order characters of WWE 2K19 are now available, and players who missed these pre-order bonuses can now pick them up as downloadable content. They come in two packs, one with Ronda Rousey, and the other one with Ric Flair. These can be bought separately. These are available across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. 2K Games also teased an upcoming Titans Pack, but is yet to give out more details on its release date and contents.


Overkill’s The Walking Dead Now Available on Steam

The four-player co-op action game, Overkill’s The Walking Dead is now available through Steam for PC and it will cost you $59.99 for the Standard Edition. A Deluxe Edition of the game is also available and it will be for $79.99. This will come with the full game plus the first and second season content, a Night Raid Collection cosmetic DLC, a digital artbook, and a digital soundtrack. The console versions will be available on February 6 in the Americas and two days later in Europe and other territories.


Blizzard Denies Pulling Diablo 4 Announcement at BlizzCon

Blizzard Entertainment denied that they pulled the Diablo 4 announcement before BlizzCon 2018 took place. This all started with Kotaku reporting that the 4th installment of the Diablo series will be announced at BlizzCon 2018. Blizzard said that they don’t usually comment on speculation but they are sure that they are not pulling out any announcements for the game. They also have different teams working on different Diablo projects and any announcements will be done when they are ready.


Distraint: Deluxe Edition Free on Steam for a Limited Time

Distraint: Deluxe Edition, a psychological thriller, is free on Steam right now for a limited time. The game is by developer Jesse Makkonen and it is all about a guy named Price whose job is to evict people from their homes. This doesn’t sit well with his conscience though as some horrific visions play in his head. There are puzzles to solve throughout the game’s story. The game is for free in order to build hype for the upcoming sequel, Distraint 2, that picks up after the first game’s story.


Microsoft Announces Big News at XO18

X018 is returning this weekend which will be held at the FanFest Mexico City. It will come with some amazing reveals for both first and third-party games as promised by Microsoft. The one that we are hoping for is PlayerUnknown’s mysterious winter map. This map had been teased during the Xbox E3 2018 presser giving it a release window of 2018. There will also be announcements for other games like State of Decay and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. X018 will take place on November 10th at 9 PM GMT.


PUBG Appears on PS4 Store Database

It appears like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds release for the PlayStation 4 will be coming sooner rather than later. A dataminer spotted some references to this in the database of the console. There were two promotional images that were found and it also came with content IDs for the North American and European stores. The IDs are usually assigned to games that are nearing release. PUBG on Xbox One released almost a year ago, and this also creates speculations of a one year exclusivity period for the game.


Sailing Game Make Sail Gets Creative Mode Update

A new trailer has been released by Popcannibal for their game Make Sail. The trailer comes as an announcement for the arrival of the game’s creative mode. This new mode is the biggest for the game so far. It comes with a variety of features that the player will have control over like the construction of your dream ship as well as control the different aspects of the world like the weather, the wind, and the sun. Waves can be played or paused and all of this can be accessed with a single key, the letter “C”.

Second Spider-Man DLC Release Date Confirmed

The release date for Spider-Man PS4’s second DLC has been revealed, and it was revealed through an unlikely source. Apparently, some players spotted the release date of the new DLC, ‘The City That Never Sleeps: Turf Wars’ in the game’s menu. The second part of The City That Never Sleeps DLC will be released November 20th, basing from the date spotted in the in-game menu. Sony is yet to confirm if this is true.


DayZ Enters Beta

After 5 years since its alpha release, DayZ is finally in beta, Bohemia Interactive has announced. The company said that the game’s content and features are mostly finished, and during the beta, the company will focus on optimization, balancing, and bug fixes, among other things. The game’s 1.0 version is still expected to be released by the end of this year.


Red Dead Redemption Has Shipped Over 17 Million Copies Worldwide

Red Dead Redemption 2 is dominating in sales! Rockstar Games reported that the game has surpassed 2010’s Red Dead Redemption in sales, hitting 17 million copies sold in just eight days since it officially launch – and it has not even released on PC! The game also was the most pre-ordered game on the PlayStation Network, and it also has the most single day sales and the most sales over three days in the platform.


Steel Rats Out Now

The motorbike combat racer Steel Rats from Tate Multimedia is out now on Steam and PlayStation 4! The game boasts of visceral, groundbreaking “evolution of the 2.5D action-arcade genre,” and fuses destructive motorbike combat with death-defying stunts. The game also boasts of “a visually stylised, retro-future world.” Players will be able to choose from four unique and upgradeable characters as they wreak havoc and at the same time defend their city from an army of junk robots.


Kill la Kill the Game: IF Reveals Two New Characters

This week’s issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu reveals two new characters that will be heading to Kill la Kill the Game: IF. The characters are Nonon Jakuzure and Houka Inumuta. They will be joining previously revealed characters Ryuko Matoi, Uzu Sanageyama, Satsuki Kiryuin, Ira Gamagori, and Ira Gamagori. Kill la Kill the Game: IF is based from the anime Kill la Kill and is developed by A+ Games, and published by Arc System Works. The game will be available on PC and PlayStation 4, although a release date is yet to be announced.


The Sims 4 Gets First-Person Cam

The Sims 4 will soon be getting a first-person camera. This was announced during the recent Maxis Monthly, a livestream dedicated for all Sims content. The first-person camera will be added to the game along with the next patch. Players can use this camera to give house tours, and even use it for storytelling thanks to the different angles the camera offers. The patch is set to arrive November 13th, and it also includes the Style Influencer career as well as the expanded tools for terrain and modification.


Fallout 76 Getting Improvements Based on Beta Feedback

Bethesda is set to roll out some improvements to Fallout 76, in time for the final BETA happening November 8th. Some of the improvements include addition of ultra wide screen support on PC, adding push-to-talk function, fixes on social components especially in instances when the player is offline but in-game it appears he’s online and vice-versa, and more. Bethesda based these improvements from players’ feedback during previous beta runs.


Gris Release Date Finally Announced

The visually stunning platformer Gris has finally received an official release date. Publisher Devolver Digital revealed that the game will be launching December 13th, and will be available for players on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Mac. Gris promises an emotional roller-coaster as it tells the story of a young girl who experienced a personal loss, and can’t die. As for its gameplay, the game features puzzles, platforming, and some optional skill challenges. The character also gains abilities as it progresses.


ARK: Survival Evolved Free Play Announced

The MMORPG ARK: Survival Evolved has released its Extinction Expansion Pack, and to get more players in the game, Studio Wildcard has announced that the game is free to play on Steam for a limited time this week. The free play will run from now through Sunday, November 11th, at 1PM Pacific Time. Should you also decide to purchase the full game, it is also available at 60% off during the free play week, or until Monday, November 12th at 10AM Pacific Time.


Black Ops 4 Tweaks Blackout Mode in New Update

Call of Duty Black Ops 4’s Black Out mode got some changes in the game’s latest patch. The main goal of the patch is to adjust weapons in the battle royale mode, making sure they have a chance to be competitive, such as light machine guns which will be getting some changes to make it more appealing to players. 9-Bangs have also been taken out. A new giant zombie boss called the Blightfather is also coming to Blackout. This boss will be available until November 13th only. All changes are live now on all platforms.

Players Have Unlocked Payday 2’s Secret Ending

After five years, the secret ending of Payday 2 has finally been unlocked! This was shared by YouTuber GeneralMcBadass, who showed players how they can unlock the secret ending. There’s a lot of stuff to do before players can unlock the ending, including finding runes, completing a disk with the runes, getting a medallion, finding piano keys, deciphering even more runes, cracking a code, and finally getting themselves immersed in a 7-minute long live action scene, and a long epilogue text crawl.
