Tekken 7 Adds New Playable Character: The Walking Dead’s Negan
Namco Bandai has debuted a new trailer for Tekken 7’s Season 2 content at EVO 2018. The 3D fighter’s 2nd season will see the return of series staples Lei Wulong and Anna Williams, both of which had fans in uproar when the game shipped without them. The trailer also revealed the game’s next guest character — barbed-bat-wielding badass Negan from AMC’s The Walking Dead. There are 3 more characters coming in Season 2 that are yet to be revealed. No word yet on when these characters will be joining the current roster.
Seong Mi-na and Astaroth Added to Soulcalibur 6 Lineup
Just right before the Tekken 7 quarterfinals went underway, Bandai Namco revealed 2 more characters joining the SoulCalibur 6 rost at this year’s EVO. The 2 characters are Astaroth and Seoing Mi-na, both returning mainstays of the series. The two were revealed in a new trailer that showcased both characters new looks and moves, Astaroth with his giant axe and Seong Mi-na with her signature naginata. So far, 17 characters have been confirmed for the upcoming fighter, including Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher series.
Madden 19 Releases Pre-release Patch
Although Madden NFL 19 doesn’t officially launch until August 10th, it already has a trial out via EA and Origin Access. Fans of the series are liking what they’ve played so far, but like any other game, it has its share of bugs and problems. That’s EA Sports has released a new update that fixes some of the known issues in the game, including the “accidental” censoring of Colin Kaepernick’s name in the game’s soundtrack. The patch also adds new commentary and changes to skill point progression for Franchise mode.
Quake Champions Added a Character Who Has Not Been Seen for the Past 22 Years
id Software just added a big new surprise entry to Quake Champions. The latest character to join the arena is the Death Knight, one of the more challenging enemies from the first Quake who hasn’t been seen in 20 years. The Death Knight comes in as a medium champion with 100 HP and 50/100 AP. He also sports his signature move where he swings his sword and fireballs come shooting out. The new champion is also resistant to fire and lava, and can set enemies on fire using his gauntlet.
Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor Brings Dark Space Elves
Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr’s Season One Patch has been rolled out, and it comes with a new enemy faction, the Dark Eldar, also known as the Drukhari. New units that belong to this faction include Talos and Cronos Pain Engines, Kabalite Warriors, Incubi and Succubi, “insane flesh-sculptors” the Haemonculi, and Wracks. This Season also adds a new story campaign with three new investigations that focus on the addition of the Dark Eldar to the game.
Desolate Adds Faction War, Weapons, and More in Update
Desolate, the horror survival game set in an alternate-history 1980’s Soviet Union, just got a massive update called The Takeover. The update adds a new gameplay feature called Faction War where players can capture in-game areas controlled by rival factions. Revisiting these captured points will also grant bonuses you wouldn’t have access to otherwise, such as new merchants and items. The update also includes animation, enemy and quality-of-life improvements. Desolate is currently out on Steam Early Access.
Insomniac Reveals How Many Suits Spider-Man Gets in Spider-Man PS4
Insomniac Games Community Lead James Stevenson has revealed just how many suits Spider-Man will be sporting in Spider-Man PS4. According to Stevenson, the game has roughly 25 suits for Spidey, and these can be unlocked once the player hits a certain level. The player also needs to craft using collectibles they find in the game. 12 suits have been confirmed so far, with the rest being kept as a surprise by Insomniac Games for now. Spider-Man PS4 will be launching September 7th.
Dragon Age Inquisition Mod Overhauls Game’s Controls and Camera
If you want to play through or maybe revisit the world of Dragon Age Inquisition but dread having to put up with the game’s less-than-ideal controls and camera, you’re in luck. Modder ‘n1ftucal’ has just released a new version of the Intuitive Controls mod for the game. The mod makes it so that the camera works like you would expect it to in common FPS or RPG games. It also drastically enhances the overall mouse and keyboard experience, and improves graphics card compatibility. It is available now at Nexus Mods.
New Guilty Gear Project Reportedly in the Works, Arc Sys World Tour Announced
A new Guilty Gear game is in the works, as confirmed by Arc System Works CEO Minoru Kidooka during Evo 2018. The announcement came after he apologized on Guilty Gear director Daisuke Ishiwatari’s absence during the event. Kidooka said Ishiwatari is “hard at work on a new Guilty Gear title,” and asked fans to wait a little longer. There are no other details shared aside from the confirmation that a new Guilty Gear game is in the works. EVO 2018 ended last Sunday, August 5th.
Steam Brings Back Flash Sales, Report Says
Reports say that flash sales may be coming back to Steam soon. These flash sales were removed by Valve years ago and offer games at discounted prices for a limited time. The report came from the Valve News Network channel on YouTube. The report also added that flash sales will return with a few adjustments that will allow developers to set time limits for their sales – from 6 hours to even a week. Valve is yet to issue a comment on this report.
The Witcher 3 Mod Lets Ciri Make Counterattacks
The Witcher 3’s Redux mod has received a new update which brings new features to the game. These new features include a freeform targeting system, a new damage model, and combat stamina. A new unlockable special attack that’s similar to riposte from The Witcher 2 was also added. The update also removes all level restrictions on weapons, gear, and armor. It also adds survival elements as well as weight limitations. The redux mod is available via NexusMods.

Fortnite’s Birthday Celebration Ends
Fortnite’s birthday celebration is over, and if you took part in the celebrations, you get awesome rewards! The rewards are: 5,000 XP for playing 14 matches, Fortnite birthday emoticon for dealing 1,000 damage to opponents, and a “Happy Birthday” spray for dancing in front of 10 different birthday cakes. If you completed all three challenges, you get the Birthday Cake Back Bling. the celebrations may be over but there’s still so much more to do in Fortnite as Season 5 is currently under way!
Dota 2 Pros Get Wrecked By Play Bots
A team composed of three Dota 2 pros, one current pro, and a commentator recently took on AI bots in an event recently held in San Francisco. As you would expect, the bots won with a score of 2 to 1. The bots they took on were from OpenAI, a company co-founded by Elon Musk. The 5-bot-team was in development all year, and has beaten amateur teams last month. This was the first time the bots took on pros. OpenAI plans to take these bots to Valve’s official International tournament and compete with the best Dota 2 players in the world.
Sgat and G Coming to Street Fighter 5
Capcom has announced two new characters that have been added to Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition’s roster! Available for download now are series regular Sagat, and the self-proclaimed president of the world, G. Both are available in the game’s Season 3 title pass which also includes Blanka, Cody, Sarah, and Falke. You can also purchase them separately with real money, or 100,000 Fight Money. In addition, a new stage called King’s Court will also be available.
Football Manager 2019 Release Date Announced
Football Manager 2019 has a release date! The game is announced to be coming to PC on November 2nd, and will include a German league for the first time. The has a few new additions which include redesigned logos, as well as a refreshed in-game look. More of its new features will be revealed next month. Fans who will pre-order the game will also get a 10% discount coupon.
Cooler Comes to Dragon Ball FighterZ
In anticipation of the release of the latest DLC characters for Dragon Ball FighterZ, Bandai Namco has released a new trailer re-enacting the battles during Vegeta and Nappa’s first coming to Earth. At the end of the trailer, a new DLC character was revealed. Cooler, Frieza’s elder brother and the titular antagonist in Cooler’s Revenge, is coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ. Base form Goku and Vegeta join the game’s roster on August 8th, while there is no word yet on when Cooler will be released.
Treyarch Responds to Black Ops 4 Beta Complaints
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 private beta that ran last weekend caused long-time fans of the series quite a few concerns. Without dwelling on the fact that it doesn’t eve feel enough like a traditional Call of Duty game, beta players couldn’t help but notice a few overpowered additions that caused balance issues — particularly, body armor. Treyarch has however said that although they hear the community’s concerns, they do not have enough data as of yet to make appropriate adjustments.
Football Manager’s Manager Man Has Retired
Football Manager’s manager man has finally retired after 14 years of being the cover star of the game. No worries though, as he is currently sitting on a beach in Santorini, cocktail in hand, said studio boss Miles Jacobson. He further explains the changes were due to other changes in the studio as they were able to move to a new office in Olympic Park, having their first COO and having a better structure all in all, and they are also changing some of their practices. Thus the change in the cover of the game.
The Culling’s Day One Release Remastered
Xaviant producer Joshua Van Veld has announced The Culling Origins over the weekend through a dev diary. The Culling Origins is technically the remastered version of the game’s Day One release. Van Veld calls Origins as the ” patch to the live version of the game.” He adds that the aim of Origins is to effectively remaster the game and taking the gameplay, look, and feel of the game to day one. This remaster will include bug fixes.
60 Parsecs Release Date Announced
60 Parsecs! finally has an official release date. In case it’s the first time you’re hearing of the game, its premise is simple — it’s the atomic space age and your space station is about to be nuked. You’ve got 60 seconds to grab what you can and make a mad dash to escape. Thus begins a survival adventure where you’ll need to explore, scavenge and craft for supplies, as well as lead and protect your crew. 60 Parsecs! lands on Steam come September 18th, with planned console releases in the future.
Surviving Mars Da Vinci Update Out Now
Surviving Mars has launched a free update called Da Vinci or Creative Mode. This new update will include super-powered colonists that will not die easily from exposure, suffocation or starvation. They are able to stay happy as well as healthy with health or sanity not dropping below 50. Players will also get to have more in-game money with the update which is a whopping one hundred trillion dollars. Building is so much easier as well as it won’t require resources nor maintenance.
Street Fighter World Champion is From UK for the First Time
The Street Fighter 5 World champion at Evo is Benjamine “Problem X” Simon. This is one amazing feat as it is the first time that someone from the UK won in the tournament. He fought against the legendary Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi in the grand finals. Problem X fought with M.Bison, while Tokido chose Akuma with a 3-0 score. His win marks the very first time a British player won in the Street Fighter Evo’s main tournament. The first time that a British player won an Evo tournament was in 2008.
