Nine New Characters Added to BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
Arc System Works has announced its second season of fighters for crossover fighter Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle. Season 2 will bring 9 new fighters from 3 different titles. The new characters coming are Akihiko Sanada, Labrys and Mitsuru Kirijo from Persona 4 Arena; Yuzuriha Sougetsu, Mika Returna and Merkava from Under Night In-Birth; and Nine The Phantom, Mai Natsume and Izayoi from Blazblue: Central Fiction. All 9 characters are out now for PC, PS4 and Switch.
Dead or Alive 6 Teases Reveals for Hitomi and Leifang on Gamescom
Koei Tecmo teased 2 character reveals for Dead or Alive 6 at the EVO 2018 whose identities will be revealed at the upcoming Gamescom 2018 in Germany next month. Although only silhouettes were shown, fans of the 3D fighter will easily recognize the 2 to be Chinese kung-fu specialist Leifang and German Karateka Hitomi, both of which are series staples. Koei Tecmo will most likely debut reveal trailers for the 2 at Gamescom. Dead or Alive 6 will be launching in 2019 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Reinhardt’s Summer Skin Revealed
Overwatch is summer-ready! Its Summer Games event is back, and is on its third year, and a summer-themed skin for D.Va was revealed. Of course, D.Va won’t be the only hero to get some summer goodies, because Blizzard has also revealed Reinhardt’s own summer-themed skin! Reindhart’s is called Gridironhardt skin, which is decked with pads instead of armor, and it looks like he’s ready for some American football. The Overwatch Summer Games is set to kick off August 9th, so mark your calendars!
Terry Bogard and More Added to Fighting EX Layer RosterArika debuted a new trailer for Fighting EX Layer at EVO 2018 that reveals the dev’s plans for the 2D fighter. The trailer shows off Pullum Purna and Vulcano Rosso, both of which started off in the Street Fighter EX series. Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard has also been announced as a guest character, leaving some to wonder if there will be more guest characters in the future. Arika has also revealed that the game will be getting an arcade version which will be playable in certain places in North America.
10 New Icons and Division Rivals Mode Coming to FIFA 19 Ultimate Team
EA has confirmed Ultimate Team will be returning in FIFA 19. Although this was already expected, EA did unveil 10 new icons coming with the mode. Bumping up the list of classic players to 40 for the mode are Raul, Miroslav Klose, Claude Makelele, Joyan Cruyff, Clarence Seedorf, Fabio Cannavaro, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Eusebio, and Rivaldo. An online version of Squad Battles will also be added. Dubbed as Division Rivals, players are grouped with others of similar ability each week with the chance to win big prizes.
Overwatch is Looking for Aspiring Pros for its Open Division
Players who are looking to compete in the Overwatch Open Division are in for some good news! Blizzard has opened registration for teams who want to compete in the game’s Open Division’s third season. Another piece of good news is that there are no requirements, so anyone can register regardless of skill level. Team registration for Europe servers ends August 13th. Overwatch Summer Games is Now on Its Third Season
The Summer Games are returning to Overwatch again this year, with the annual summer event kicking off on August 9th. The limited-time event will unlock exclusive summer-themed hero skins. Lucioball will also be making a comeback, with the official Overwatch Twitter account teasing that the new arena will be in Busan, South Korea. Blizzard is also giving away free loot boxes containing random items for its newest hero, Wrecking Ball, to Twitch Prime subscribers, plus a Golden Loot Box each in September and October.
For Honor Brings Big Changes to Two Characters
For Honor is now on its 7th season, and with it comes some changes. The changes come specifically for two of the game’s characters: Warden and Valkyrie. Both of them actually got new moves: the Warden gets Valiant Breakthrough, and the Valkyrie gets 5 more chain attacks. For Honor’s Season 7 also brings with it refreshed player progression as well as ranked play, 10 new Reputation levels, new legendary gear, and 2 elite ranked divisions.
We Happy Few Shows Off Season Pass and Free DLC
Compulsion Games has revealed post-launch plans for their upcoming psychedelic adventure, We Happy Few. The game’s Season Pass will bring with it 3 new stories, each one centered around a new playable character. The 3 Story DLCs are “Roger & James in: They Came From Below!”, ‘Lightbearer’, and “We All Fall Down”. The devs also revealed that they’ll be adding a Sandbox Mode in a free future update which will allow players a customized experience. We Happy Few launches on August 10th.
Next Rainbow Six Siege Operator Could Come From Ghost Recon Wildlands
Rainbow Six Siege fans are theorizing that the one of the next Operators coming to the game may be Nomad from Ghost Recon Wildlands. The theory stems from ongoing live tie-in events between the 2 games where players see Twitch teaming up with the Ghosts to track down former Operative Caveira. Also, previosly revealed back story info for the new Operator seem to match well with that of Nomad’s own. Of course this is all fan speculation for now, and we’ll need to wait for the official reveal to be sure.
Runescape Celebrates 6,000th Day
It is Runescape’s six thousandth day from the day the game’s Rundate calendar was implemented. And since then it was able to earn a number of notable statistics. There had been fourteen point five million ghosts laid to rest in The Restless Ghost, five point five million Elvargs slain in the Dragon Slayer, eighteen point seven billion levels gained with two-hundred sixty point eight trillion experience points. These numbers prove that the game is still standing the test of time.
