NOVEMBER 5 PART 1

Fallout 76 Character Customization Detailed

Bethesda shared more details on Fallout 76 microtransactions. We do know that these are purely for cosmetic purposes, and that all clothing items, weapons, emotes, and skins are all available in the Atomic Shop. Players can purchase these items using Atoms which they can earn in the game by completing challenges. Items players bought can be shared across the entirety of their account, and those who played in the beta will have their beta items crossing over the full game when it launches.


MLB The Show 19 Release Date Revealed

Sony announced the release date for its PS4 exclusive baseball game MLB The Show 19. The game is set to be released on March 26, 2019. On the cover of this year’s installment is Bryce Harper, reigning Home Run Derby champion and former MVP. Harper is yet to sign with a team, so he’s currently sporting a hoodie in the game’s initial cover. The final cover art will be revealed once Harper signs with a team.


TIGA Games Industry Awards 2018 Winners Named

The winners of the TIGA Games Industry Awards 2018 have been named! TIGA is a network of game developers and digital publishers and is a non-profit trade association that represents the video game industry. This year’s Game of the Year award is presented to Avakin Life from the publisher Lockwood Publishing. Other big winners are Sea of Thieves with the award for Best Visual Design 2018 and God of War with the award Best Action and Adventure Game 2018 .


 

New Fortnite Trailer Showcases Balloons

Fortnite Season 6 is well under way, and the game is ever changing with all the updates coming in. The latest addition to the game is something you wouldn’t think would be useful: balloons. Balloons in the game can be used to gain altitude as well as allow players to quickly advance upon opponents who may have higher ground. The distance players can travel is determined by how much balloons they have. These are now available in the game.


Final Fantasy 15-Related Broadcast Set

Square Enix will be hosting a special broadcast for Final Fantasy 15. This will happen on November 7th at 8:00 p.m. PT, 11:00 p.m. ET, 4:00 a.m. UTC, and 1:00 p.m. JST via YouTube. The broadcast will be in Japanese, but subtitles will be provided. We are yet to find out what Square Enix will be talking about during the broadcast, but it’s possible they may be giving out details on the game’s upcoming downloadable content.


StarCraft 2 Reveals New Co-Op Commander

Blizzard has revealed at this year’s BlizzCon a new Co-op Commander for StarCraft 2. The new Commander joining the roster is Zeratul, a renowned psionic warrior and assassin. He is a follower of xel’naga, so he’s “able to wield their ancient, powerful technology to make himself and his xel’naga-based army stronger.” Also announced was War Chest, a seasonal program that allows players to unlock a host of in-game extras.


Horizon Chase Turbo Launch Date and New Features Revealed

Racing game Horizon Chase Turbo has finally received an official release date. The game will be released on November 28th and will be available on the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. The game is inspired by 16-bit 90’s racing games and features a new game mode called Playground which consists of live challenges that gets updated regularly. The game also boasts tons of content with 12 Cups, 48 Cities, 110 tracks, 26 Unlockable Cars, 10 Upgrades, and 4 Game Modes.


Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden Releases New Footage

Funcom and developer The Bearded Ladies released a new video for Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden and showcased its gameplay. Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden combines XCOM-like turn-based combat with story, exploration, strategy, and stealth. The game lets players take control of mutants that navigate the Earth in a post-apocalyptic timeline. The game is slated for a December 4 launch.


The Sinking City Gets New Trailer

Frogwares has released a new trailer for its open world Lovecraftian action investigation game The Sinking City, which showcases some improvements and new features for the game. These include visual improvements as well as the release of its powerful Level Editor which allows modders to create new cities and mods. The Level Editor won’t be coming at launch, though. The game will be released March 21, 2019 on PC.


Fallout New California Patch 2.0.3 Out Now

The Fallout New California mod for Fallout New Vegas has received a new patch, thanks to the hard work of the modders behind it. The new patch fixes a lot of bugs and improves performance, and many more. Patch 2.0.3 fixes hundreds of records, and features textures with a different form of compression and new mipmaps. The new compression improves the mod’s overall performance although the modders are still looking at improving things.


MechWarrior: Living Legends Gets New Major Update

A new major update for MechWarrior: Living Legends has been released. The update adds a new tank, two new maps, and new Battle Armor weapons. It also brings a new Battle Armor platform. The ultimate goal, according to the MWLL Community Development Team, is to “make Battle Armor a constant, expected presence on the battlefield rather than an unexpected and unusual surprise.” Alongside the Battle Armor, the patch also adds new Shatter and Ghostbear camo in Special category as well as some improvements.

Diablo Immortal Receives Backlash, Blizzard Responds

Blizzard has announced a Diablo spin-off – Diablo Immortal – at the recently concluded BlizzCon 2018, however, it looks like fans are really unhappy about it. The game has been receiving negative publicity all over, like in Reddit. Fans felt betrayed by Blizzard’s move to release a mobile game. One of them even asked during a live BlizzCon Q&A if this was an ‘out of season April Fool’s Joke’. Blizzard responded and said they have several other Diablo projects in the works.


Fortnite’s Purple Cube Has Exploded

Fortnite’s popular purple cube – which players named Kevin, by the way – has finally found its end. At the in-game live event commemorating the end of Fortnitemares, the purple cube has exploded and later reshaped some parts of the game’s map. The explosion brought players in another dimension with a crystal butterfly appearing, probably signaling Kevin’s end. Afterwards, players are back in the main world, with shards of the cube seen on an island crater. Fortnite’s Season 6 is expected to end this December.


Upcoming Artifact Tournament to Feature Game’s Built-In Tournament System

Dota 2’s card game Artifact will have a built-in tournament system which Valve has recently revealed. The tournament will be running a 128-player “preview tournament” which will have a $10,000 prize pool. This will be running on the weekend of the 10th and 11th of November. It will also be broadcasted on SteamTV and will be hosted by Beyond The Summit. It will have a 7-round Swiss bracket on Saturday and a top 8 single-elimination bracket on Sunday both starting on 9 AM PST.


Blizzard Won’t Be Reworking Overwatch Heroes for Now

Blizzard says they won’t be doing any hero reworks on Overwatch heroes for the time being. This was confirmed by Overwatch Lead Hero Designer Geoff Goodman during an interview at this year’s BlizzCon. The most recent rework they have done was for Torbjorn. It looks like the team is happy about the current standings of all heroes now, but Goodman said this won’t stop them from making any changes if they see it’s necessary.


New Kingdom Hearts 3 Reveals Tangled World

A new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 was released by Square Enix and it shares a world that is based on Disney’s Tangled. You will get to see a tower in the Kingdom of Corona and this is where Rapunzel is being held. Sora, Donald, and Goofy help her out and set here free but she soon finds herself facing a monster. With the coming of Rapunzel is a new traversal ability which allows players to swing from one place to another using Rapunzel’s hair. Kingdom Hearts 3 will release on January 29, 2019.


World of Warcraft: Tides of War Update Out This December

Blizzard had some announcements for World of Warcraft at this year’s BlizzCon, including details on the Tides of War update. This update is slated to arrive December 11th, and it brings new story and character quests, the new co-op Warfront: Battle for Dark Shore, Horde and Alliance assaults, new island expeditions, heritage Armor for max level dwarves and blood elves, and many more coming as Tides of Vengeance continues to unfold.


Football Manager 2019 Has a Demo Out Now

Football Manager 2019 currently has a demo on Steam, and if you’ve been wanting to try out the game, now’s your chance! The demo allows players to play through a half-season in the game. Battlefield 5 Won’t Include Map Voting at Launch

Map Voting will not be available for Battlefield V at the game’s launch. During EA DICE’s Weekly Debriefs on Reddit where they post new information and screenshots about the game, a question had been placed asking, “Is map voting between rounds in Battlefield V?” Matthias Wagner, the Level Designer answered this by saying, “Unfortunately, this will not be available at launch.” Battlefield V will be launching on November 20th, 2018 and will be available to play for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.


South Korea Brings Home Third Overwatch World Cup Victory

In eSports news: South Korea bagged another Overwatch World Cup victory for the third year in a row! The back-to-back-to-back champions put China in second place, and Canada in third. JJonak was crowned MVP of this year’s Overwatch World Cup, which makes him as the MVP for both Overwatch League and Overwatch Cup. Players on the Overwatch League are full of praises for the team, saying this is the most talented South Korean Overwatch team that the team has formed to date.


Spellbreak Battle Royale Announced, Currently in Pre-Alpha

A new battle royale game is currently in the works! the game is titled Spellbreak, and it is from developer Proletariat. What makes this different from other battle royale games is that it ditches guns altogether and instead focuses on magic. The game allows players to conjure up different magical attacks, thanks to a variety of spells the game offers. The game features a cell-shaded art style with visuals reminiscent of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game is currently in pre-alpha.


Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker Gets Orochimaru DLC

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker gets a new DLC and it will be bringing in Orochimaru as a playable character. He can be obtained in the game for free however if you purchase the third DLC pack the access granted to him will come as a master meaning that you will have the ability to learn his abilities as well as get his iconic outfit. We can still expect six other characters to be revealed that are part of the game’s season pass. The season pass will have a total of nine characters available for $30.
