EA Might Consider Adding Cross-Play Features
Looks like EA is considering cross-play on their future games. In a recent earnings call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson answered a question on whether Battlefield 5 or other EA games will feature cross-play. He said that cross-play is an important part of their future development profile. He added that their vision is that in 3-5 years, a great portion of game experiences will exist in the cloud, and that they are looking at key franchises for cross-play support.
For Honor’s Next Season to Launch Simultaneously on All Platforms
For Honor Season 7 is launching its 7th season, and it’s coming sooner than you think. Season 7 will begin August 2nd, and it will launch simultaneously on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Storm and Fury, as the new seasonal update is called, will bring new maps, hero reworks, and an update to the ranking system. A permanent 30 percent discount on all outfits will also be included in the new season.
Monster Hunter World PC Port Uses Steam Groups as Squads
Squads in Monster Hunter World is equivalent to guilds and clans in other games. For the game’s PC port, the game seems to use Steam groups, which automatically creates in-game squads. The game looks at the groups you belong to on Steam and considers them as in-game squads. As cool as this may sound, unfortunately there’s no way for you to see who among your friends in the group is online. You’ll get to check this out when Monster Hunter World releases on PC on August 9th.
Original System Shock Game Gets New Level Editor
The original System Shock game is getting a brand new level editor all thanks to modder ‘dertseha’. Apparently, the previous “deck” editor form InkyBlackness already reached its limits and a brand new editor is already needed. The new editor is called HackEd and the initial v1.0.0 version for it is already available for download. This new one does copy the previous package but includes basic fan-mission editing. It has better UI/UX, integrates findings of sources, and supports extensions.
New Hide or Die Teaser Released
Developer VecFour Digital has shared a new teaser for their upcoming asymmetrical horror game Hide or Die. The new trailer released is the longer version of the one shared on the game’s Kickstarter campaign. The company also shared some new details on the game’s development. The teaser itself shows a quick look of the game’s creepy environment, paired with pulsing music. Some gameplay were also shown. Hide or Die is still currently in development for PC.
Player Choices Will Have Long-Term Consequences in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s Story
Ubisoft announces that player’s choices made in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will have actual consequences. The game is quite different from the usual Assassin’s Creed formula that we know and love. This time the game is going to be a full-fledged RPG. It will have dialogue choices, romance options as well as player choice. The choices that you make in the game will have an impact on your progress. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is set to officially launch on October 5 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Gears 5 Reveals New Enemy Type
A new enemy type has been revealed for Gears 5. Previously, developers The Coalition shared an enemy type: a Warden that wields a dual glowing axe. And today another one has been revealed through a GIF on Twitter and it is called the Swarm Flock. It is a swarm of flying leeches which the tweet describes as “your worst nightmare”. Well, if their movements are as unpredictable in the GIF, then you are sure to have problems. Gears 5 will launch next year for PC and Xbox One. No specific release date was given.

Anthem’s Recently Revealed Map May Be Final Size of the Game’s World
A huge part of Anthem’s map has been recently revealed, and it looks like it’s pretty much makes up the entire world of the game. A thread on Reddit asked this exact question, and BioWare’s Brenon Holmes said that yes, it is indeed the entire map, and the screenshot is just missing a bit on the top and bottom part. In other Anthem news, the game’s lead producer Ben Irving answered a player’s question on how dying will work in the game. Irving said that players will enter a downed state, but teammates can revive them.
PUBG Sells Over 4 Million Units on PC in June
According to SuperData Arcade’s monthly report, the popular battle royale game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ Steam sale was able to reach four-point-seven million units for PC just for the month of June. The difference is significantly big compared to the sales for the month of May and is only second to its peak which was in the month of October 2017. Also, for the month of June 2018, PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds was able to reach third place on the most popular digital games across PC.
New Metroid 2 Remake Patch Rolled OutA couple of changes can be seen in the newly released update for the remake of Metroid 2. ILoneWandererI released this new update which is available for PC and it is called Another Metroid 2 Remake which is also known as AM2R. The update includes graphic improvements, Fusion mode overhauls, as well as adds German, French and Czech localizations. Vainglory is Coming to PC
Super Evil Megacorp’s mobile MOBA called Vainglory is coming to the Mac and PC. The game first came out on mobile and is now pursuing a place in both Mac and PC. The developers did want to deliver “a full, uncompromising MOBA experience to the touch-screen generation”, and their custom game engine is helping with the cross-platform transition. Anyone who would want to test the game on their PC or Mac can do so right now as a test version is available for download. Do expect some alpha build imperfections.

11 bit studios and Digital Sun’s Moonlighter receives an update that will add all new rooms, some enchanted weapon FX and many more. The most noticeable change for players is the new room patterns. Revisiting a boss room where you have previously defeated a boss will now give players some new rewards. Of course, you won’t get that reward easily, as you enter the boss room it will now be crawling with monsters. Gran Turismo Sport Introduces Microtransactions in New Update
Gran Turismo Sport has a big July update that will bring microtransactions, this will allow players to purchase existing cars that are found within the game. This update also brings Polyphony Digital’s PlayStation 4 racer up to version 1.23 which comes with some new cars and a new track. One of the new cars is the Mercedes AMG W08 and the new fictional track is the Circuit de Sainte-Croixe. The microtransactions update is potentially controversial, we will know later if players are happy about it.
Assetto Corsa Competizione Gets Release DateKunos Simulazioni’s Assetto Corsa Competizione, the follow up to the amazing driving simulator Assetto Corsa, now has an Early Access release date which will be on September 12th. The offer is limited as of right now, having just the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 and the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuits available. Updates, however, will be available on a monthly basis and the game’s multiplayer will be policed by a Rating System. The final release of Assetto Corsa Competizione is set for Q1 next year.
Monster Hunter World Sells 8 Million Copies Worldwide Ahead of PC Release
Ahead of its PC release, Capcom has revealed that Monster Hunter World has sold 8.3 million units. This includes physical and digital copies of the game. Capcom says that the phenomenal success of the title has solidified the company’s position as an international brand. PC gamers have been anticipating the title’s release on their platform, however the game has proven to be quite demanding in terms of required specs, so that might limit its reach a little in the PC space.
