Sony Won’t Be Staging a PSX This Year

Sony wont’ be staging a PlayStation Experience this year. This was confirmed by the chairman of worldwide studios for Sony Interactive Entertainment, Shawn Layden. For the past four years, the company has held PlayStation Experience events every December. With less than a few months away from December, fans have been asking about the event. Layden says they don’t have enough to talk about in the event at this time, and they don’t want to set expectations too high and not deliver.


PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Shuts Down Online Multiplayer

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be shutting down its online multiplayer on October 25th, Sony has announced. Its single-player campaign and local multiplayer will still be accessible to players, though, so this means the game won’t be completely shutting down. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale launched back in 2012 and was available for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. The game features 24 characters from different games like BioShock’s Big Daddy, Dead Space’s Isaac Clarke, and Uncharted’s Nathan Drake.


Darkest Dungeon’s Color of Madness DLC Out Next Month

Darkest Dungeon’s The Color of Madness DLC is heading to consoles, and players can get their hands on it starting October 11th. The DLC first launched on PC earlier this year, and developer Red Hook Studios is finally bringing it to the Nintendo Switch and the Xbox One versions of the game. The expansion was inspired by H. P. Lovecraft’s The Colour Out of Space. The DLC, when it launches on consoles, will also include a balance patch that was already available on PC as well as a second DLC known as The Musketeer.


Dead or Alive 6 Arcade Version Unveiled

An arcade version for Dead or Alive 6 was announced by Koei Tecmo and it will be using the ALL.Net P-ras MULTI Version 3 system by Sega Interactive. According to the announcement, the distribution is for Japan only and no news was shared if it will be available in the West too. Also, it has not been shared when this will all start. But this is great news as players would also have the option to play the game in arcades and not only on PC, PS4 or Xbox One. Dead or Alive 6 officially launches on February 15, 2019.


Rocket League May Be Getting Cross-Play, But Not Soon

Recently, Psyonix shared on Reddit some information about the potential Rocket League Cross-Play. They mentioned that they built the game to be a cross-platform game from the very start. However, this is something that they are not able to do on their own and would need the “cooperation and coordination of many partners, most notably the platform holders themselves”. For right now Rocket League has cross-play available between PC and PS4 only and also between Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.


Splatoon 2’s Gets Final New Stage in Version 4.1

Nintendo was able to share that the Splatoon 2 Version 4.1 update will be adding the game’s last “new stage” called the Skipper Pavilion. Teasers for the new stage had been shared all throughout the week. A fun new item will also come with the new update and it is called the Booyah Bomb. Activate the Booyah Bomb and charge it up quickly by signaling “Booyah” and once charged, release it for a huge inksplosion. This new stage will be coming in October as posted by Nintendo in a Tweet.


Destiny 2’s Shattered Throne Dungeon Only Available Once Every Three Weeks

Destiny 2’s Shattered Throne dungeon, which was introduced through Destiny 2’s Forsaken DLC, will only be available every third week, Bungie has revealed. This is because the curse on the Dreaming City is locking Guardians out in-game. PLayers need to reach power level 590 in order to access Shattered Throne. The next time the dungeon will become available will be on October 16th, then the next time will be on November 6th.


Rend’s Development Roadmap Revealed

Frostkeep Studios revealed its content roadmap for its game Rend which spans from Fall 2018 and beyond 2019. Up until mid-December, players will see fixes in the game such as combat improvements, overhauled game aspects, and new store and share resources, among others. Legendary artifacts from Norse mythology, including unique weapons and armor, will also be introduced. The full list is available in the game’s website. Rend is currently available on Steam Early Access.


More Killer7 Assassins Showcased in New Trailer

NIS America has unveiled more of the assassins which make up the seven assassins of their upcoming game Killer7. The first three were revealed earlier this month. The final four assassins are “The Wrestler” Mask de Smith, “The Thief” Coyote Smith, Kaede “Barefoot” Smith, and “The Punk” Con Smith. Each of them have their own special abilities: Mask de Smith using wrestling moves, Coyote Smith using jump high and lockpick, Kaede Smith activating “blood shower”, and Con Smith has super speed.


GTA 5 Mod Brings the Predator Into the Game

Anything can really happen, and anyone can exist in GTA 5 thanks to talented modders. Previously, we’ve seen Magneto wreaking havoc in the game, and this time around The Predator himself is out and about in Los Santos. This has been made possible by GTA scripter JulioNIB. In GTA 5, the Predator can use his cloaking ability, as well as his shoulder-mounted laser cannon. He also has giant forearm-mounted retractable skewers, and a throwable spear. When wounded, he bleeds green blood. The mod is still a work in progress.


Party Hard 2 Releases Story Trailer, Final Demo Available Now

tinyBuild has released a new trailer for Party Hard 2, the mass murder simulator where you’ll play a guy who just lost his job and has come to the company party at 3AM to add a splash of red to the festivities. A couple of demos can now also be downloaded from partyhard.game, the first one being the games alpha build and the other its final demo. The latter includes the first two levels of the game, along with “never before seen story sequences.” Party Hard 2 launches on October 25th.

Fortnite’s Floating Island Now Moving Around the Game’s Map

In Fortnite news, it looks like the mysterious floating island has started moving. Yes, that’s right that huge chunk of earth that appeared right after the strange purple cube dunked itself unto Loot Lake is moving. We have no idea up to what extent that would be, but it looks like it is moving between locations on the game’s map. In addition to this, dataminers were able to dig up a folder called “CubeGrowth” which points to the direction that this will all be for an upcoming event for the game.


Rockstar Announced Red Dead Redemption 2 Second Gameplay Video Release

Last month, Rockstar Games gave fans a short peek at Red Dead Redemption 2’s gameplay. Fast Forward to this month, and the company has announced that the game’s full gameplay will finally be revealed. The video will be released at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, according to a tweet by Rockstar Games. The company did not say where fans can specifically watch the trailer, but we’re pretty sure it will be posted in its official YouTube Channel.


Bungie Files Trademark for a Project Named “Matter”

The rumor mill is turning because Bungie filed a trademark for a new project called “Matter.” We still don’t have any clue on what this is but it is filed under two categories which are “computer game software” and “online entertainment services”. Because of this find, ‘Matter’ could most likely be game-related. A work-in-progress logo has also been registered with the trademarked name. Since Bungie has not shared anything about this, it is anybody’s guess what this will actually be in the future.


Minecraft: Dungeons Announced

Mojang has unveiled a new game that is set in the Minecraft universe. The game is called Minecraft: Dungeons, and as the name suggests, it is a dungeon crawler. The game was developed as a “passion project” by “small and dedicated” team of devs in the company’s Stockholm studio. Minecraft: Dungeons is inspired by classic dungeon crawlers where players will discover new weapons and items which will help them flee and fight off enemies. The game will be released on PC on a yet to be disclosed date.


New PUBG Xbox One Update to Address Issues, Brings Quality of Life Additions

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox is getting two updates this month. The first one will address the ongoing issue about achievements where the system is not working for some players. The other update coming to the console is the quality of life improvements like a quick marker system, boosted maximum sensitivity, a new player reporting option as well as new items. Also, a new reward system will be added, and more information about this will be available before the update goes live.


New Details on Warframe’s Railjack Expansion Revealed

Warframe’s Railjack expansion will be released by the end of this year, and Digital Extremes shared more details about it. First, the team shared new concept art which shows a shipboard fire extinguisher. According to the team, Railjack is a bit FTL which means players will need to manage the ship as well as its structural integrity while flying it and managing the turrets. Digital Extremes added that Railjack is not just a mini-mission within Fortuna, but instead is “a whole new way to play Warframe.”


TempoStorm Represents North America for HGC Playoffs at BlizzCon 2018

Because of Tempo Storm’s win over Team Freedom, they will be the ones representing North America at BlizzCon 2018 HGC Finals. The fight was tight at 3-2 wins. Tempo Storm may not be the most successful team in North America, however, they do show strong potential. It was a brutal back and forth between Team Freedom and Tempo Storm but at the final match, Tempo Storm was able to seal their fate with a win. The BlizzCon Opening Week will be on October 25th to October 28th.


Tropico 6 Pre-orders Include Closed Beta Access

Kalypso Media has announced a closed beta for Tropico 6, and if you’re one of those who want to give the game a try before its release, here’s how you can participate. Players who want to take part in the beta can get instant access by pre-ordering the game in the Kalypso Shop. Players will also get a 10% discount by pre-ordering, and those who register for a new Kalypso community account for the first time will get an additional 15% discount. The beta includes a tutorial, plus two sandbox maps and two full missions.


Days Gone Shows Off Some Action in New Gameplay

Days Gone, the new open-world action game by SIE Bend Studio released a new trailer and it featured Deacon St. John, the protagonist who is also a bounty hunter and a Drifter. He was once a part of the Mongrels MC motorcycle club which prepared him for what he was about to face with the global pandemic creating millions of feral creatures. The video is less than 2 minutes long but it will give glimpses of the action that we could expect in the game. This is PlayStation only game arriving on February 2019.


The Bard’s Tale 4 Gets New Patch

A brand new patch has been made available by inXile Entertainment for The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep. According to them, the new patch will improve the optimization of the game across the GPU as well as the CPU which will result in really good quality settings. The patch will also improve the loading times as well as resolve the launch crash that happens when users have non-ASCII characters in Windows usernames. Warframe’s Open World Map for Upcoming Fortuna Expansion Revealed

Warframe’s Fortuna expansion will come with a massive open-world map when it goes live later this year, and Digital Extremes shared a bunch of information about it. The map is called Orb Vallis, and it is a snowy region in Venus which is full of stone arches and ancient Orokin terraforming structures. It also has large underground structures called Corpus bases, where players can enter and plunder whenever they want. The Fortuna expansion does not have a release date at this time.
