New High Stakes Event in Fortnite Announced
A new Fortnite event is coming next week and it is called High Stakes. The announcement came from Twitter and it is lacking in detail but it was said to include a new Wild Card outfit which looks like a suit, mask, and gloves with a suitcase with handcuffs. It also has a limited time mode called Getaway which includes its own challenges. This may be a casino or perhaps a gambling themed event since the tweet did include a heart, club, diamond and spade card emojis. More information will be available soon.
New Bless Unleashed Trailer Reveals Xbox One Gameplay
A new trailer was revealed by Bandai Namco and it is for their upcoming MMORPG called Bless Unleashed. The video is 90-seconds long and it features a warrior and some of her troops traveling through different mysterious lands and facing huge beasts and monsters. The game does promise a “rich backstory” as well as a persistent open world. It also promises intense, combo-driven gameplay for PvE and PvP. The game will first release on Xbox One in early 2019 and might port to other platforms after.
EGX 2018 Reveals List of Playable Games
EGX 2018 is arriving on September 20th and will only be available up until the 23rd. The event will take place in Birmingham UK and those who have tickets will be able to play some upcoming triple-A games like Destiny 2: Forsaken, Soulcalibur 6, Spider-Man and so much more. There will also be other games included that are not that well known but you will be able to check the compete list in egx.net. If you are not able to come to this event an EGX Berlin will also be available on September 28th to the 30th.
Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition Launches as Free Update
Divinity: Original Sin 2’s update has been launched and it is the game’s Definitive Edition. This is a free update for the game that is adding and refining some features. The most notable is the DLC pack available with it, adding the new companion called Sir Lora. He is a squirrel who wears on his head a rodent skull for a helmet and rides a skeleton cat. It is actually cute and not morbid looking. Other things that the patch includes are a new tutorial level, new fights, new balances and so much more.
Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 Delayed
Sadly, Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 won’t be launching this Septemeber as previously announced. It will instead be launched by January 2019. This is to allow more time to expand the cooperative support for the game into all three story campaigns which are the Tyranids, Necrons, and Imperium. Also, this sequel will have more factions. It will have about twelve fleets in the multiplayer rumblings. The game is developed by Tindalos Interactive and published by Focus Home Interactive.
PUBG’s Training Mode Showcased in New Trailer
The much-awaited PUBG training mode has gotten a trailer which shows the action that can be done in the mode. This new mode that will be arriving next month features a firing range, melee range, and a throwables rage. It will also have an indoor and outdoor CQC area. Other areas also available are the practice area for parachutes, tracks for vehicles and there will, of course, be so many guns, gear, and attachments. The shooting range would have 800m, 400m and 1k range with different targets to aim at.
Battlefield 5 Open Beta to Include Profanity Filter
Battlefield V’s open beta is almost here and with it, Dice has confirmed that new features will be available. One of the most notable feature is the profanity filter that will be available for PC players. This filter will be applied to the game’s text chat and for right now, the game’s sensitivity is a work in progress. This beta will also mark the largest test area so far for Battlefield V giving players a chance to try some maps, new modes, and so much more. The open beta will be available on September 6.
SCUM Sells Over 250,000 Copies Less Than a Day Since Launch
The very accurate survival game SCUM recently launched in early access and within 24 hours it was able to sell two hundred fifty thousand copies. The game has proven itself, even dethroning the ever so popular Fortnite at the top spot on Twitch. The game will be in early access for quite some time as said in its Steam page, approximately about one year. This is actually Devolver Digital’s biggest launch ever reaching about 50K concurrent players which is expected to go up even more.
Just Cause 4’s Grappling Hook Has Tons of Customizations
Just Cause 4 which will be arriving on December 4 this year is said to have so many grappling hook combinations that no two players will have the same set up in the game. Director of the game Francesco Antolini said that when the developers attempted to count the total number of combinations, they were able to reach millions of variations, in fact, they were able to reach more than four million. This means that after just “4-5 hours of playing,” no player would have the same combination in the game.
Devil May Cry 5 Devil Breakers and Gallery Mode Revealed; Photo Mode Confirmed
Some new Devil May Cry 5 gameplay has been revealed and we are able to see some Devil Breakers like Overture, Gerbera, Punch Line, Tomboy, Ragtime, Helter Skelter and Rawhide as well as a gallery and photo mode. The gameplay had been presented during PAX West by Director Hideaki Itsuno, Senior Producer Michiteru Okabe and Producer Matt Walker. Also, we came to know that there will be a training mode, but details on that will be available at a later time. Devil May Cry 5 launches on March 8, 2019.
Latest Shadow of the Tomb Raider Trailer Shows Many Dangers Out to Get Lara
Eidos Montreal was able to release a new trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider featuring Lara going through some very fatal environments and deadly traps that are set to kill her. You will get to see the many ways that Lara gets into harms way in this new video. She will have to go through some cages of dead prisoners, collapsing floors, falling rocks, go through spikes, slide down hills and so much more. Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be available on September 14th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

New GTA 5 Mod Lets You Play as Magneto
GTA 5 already has tons of mods, and there’s a new one that’s quite interesting. If you’ve ever wanted to become Magneto and wreak havoc, well now here’s your chance. Modder JulioNIB brought Magneto to life in GTA 5 through his latest mod. The mod also includes Magneto’s powers which we have seen in X-Men films. He levitates, hurls cars, and even pulls guns out of peoples’ hands and shoots them. The Magneto mod is only available for PC.
Fortnite’s New Getaway Mode Revealed
Fortnite’s newest update called High Stakes has been revealed and it will come with one new very snappy outfit as well as four masks that are quite similar in design. Along with this is a new Limited Time mode called Getaway which we will know more of soon. There will be a series of different challenges to be completed in order for players to get their hands on the Wild Card skin. With what we are seeing, it looks like the High Stakes event is centered around the theme of gambling as well as heists.
Full Anthem Demo to Launch February 1st
BioWare has announced that their upcoming game Anthem will be getting a demo, and it will be available February 1st. EA calls this demo as a VIP Demo which means this will only be available for players who pre-ordered the game, and those who are subscribed to EA/Origin Access. The demo will be available on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. EA also went to clarify that the demo is not some sort of beta test, but instead an “honest to goodness demo.” Anthem launches February 22.
Overwatch League Team Shanghai Dragons Drops 8 of Their Players
Overwatch League team Shanghai Dragons has announced a sudden major overhaul in their roster. In a tweet, the team announced that they will be “releasing” 8 of their 11 players from their contracts: Altering，Freefeel，Fiveking，Roshan，Xushu，Ado，Sky and Daemin. Geguri, Fearless, and Diya remain as part of the team. The roster overhaul didn’t come as a surprise to many considering how the team lost all 40 games in the league’s first season.
Anthem’s Additional Story Content Will Be Free
In a panel during PAX East, Anthem Executive Producer Mark Darrah provided clarifications on how microtransactions will work in the game. First of all, there won’t be loot boxes, but there are cosmetic items which players can pay for with real money, or using the in-game currency. Also, the game’s additional story content will be absolutely free. Anthem will be available starting February 22nd on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Spider-Man PS4 Photo Mode Confirmed
Insomniac Games has confirmed that Spider-Man PS4 will be getting a Photo Mode, and will be available to everyone who owns the game when it launches on September 7th. It will be included in the game’s free Day 1 update. Those who wish to access the feature can do so at the Pause Menu. It includes a selection of lens, filter, and frame settings. It also includes stickers and overlays to decorate your photos with.
Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Grim Sky Gets Release Date
Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Grim Sky update’s launch date has been announced. The new season launches Tuesday, September 4th. Operation Grim Sky brings two new Operators (Maverick and Clash), as well as a rework of the Hereford Base map. Upon launch of Operation Grim Sky, Maverick will already have been nerfed, as Ubisoft took into consideration the feedback they received from test server plays.
Anthem Won’t Allow Player-to-Player Trading
BioWare revealed more details on their upcoming co-op shooter Anthem, and this time they provided details on item trading. Fort Tarsis is where all the trading happens, but BioWare went to clarify that players can only trade with NPCs. Other players won’t be able to visit other players’ Forts, so player-to-player trading is impossible. Anthem Executive Producer Mark Darrah went on to add that they’re looking at adding a social space for other players when not on a mission.
The Binding of Isaac: Repentance to Include Antibirth Fan Mod
The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, which was teased last week, has been confirmed as the final DLC for the Isaac franchise. The game’s creator, Edmund McMillen confirmed this through a tweet. He also added that the popular fan mod Antibirth will be included in the expansion, plus a ton more of content. McMillen is yet to announce a release date for the DLC, and we’re sure it will take a little time due to the fact that it is packed with content.
New Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Gameplay Showcases Alexios
Ubisoft shared new gameplay footage for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey during PAX West, and it showcases Alexios as he fights off enemies, and later faces Medusa in the island of Lesbos. The footage also includes some naval gameplay. In an interview, creative director Jonathan Dumont said that the game’s combat is fully customizable, allowing players to build their own style. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be available starting October 5th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Devolver Digital Announces Gato Roboto
Devolver Digital has announced their new game; a game they dubbed as “CatMechtroidvania,” Gato Roboto. Developed by Doinksoft, Gato Roboto will be released sometime in 2019. It will be available on PC and the Nintendo Switch. The game features white pixel visuals with a black background. It features the main character Kiki the cat who jumps, swims, bounces, and blasts its way through Metroidvania-like levels. Apparently, Kiki is accomplishing a mission for its incapacitated owner.
