AUGUST 29 PART 1

Fortnite Players Turn Into Human Cannonballs with New Showckwave Grenades

Fortnite’s new Shockwave Grenade will be coming along with the game’s next update, and it will let players become human cannonballs. Though the Shockwave Grenade flings players high up the sky, it also grants them immunity from fall damage. The Shockwave Grenade looks more like a mobility tool than a weapon, since enemies are also immune from fall damage when this is used against them.


Spacelords Out Now

Spacelords is now available on Steam and this reimagined version of Raiders of the Broken Planet is free-to-play. This is a complete redesign of the previous game with a new character progression system that allows players to access all the characters without restrictions. The developer, MercurySteam said that players can expect a steady stream of content over the following months like new characters, weapons, and skins. Unlike Raiders of the Broken Planet, Spacelords’ episodes are all free.


New Role-playing Game “Breach” Announced

Breach, a new co-op RPG from former BioWare staff, has been announced. It is due to release on Steam Early Access this year. Breach lets players choose from dozens of classes and then customize their character according to their preference in terms of play style. The game also includes a versus mode where one player plays as a Dungeon Master. Breach will be having an Alpha test, so if you’re interested, you can sign up through the game’s official website.


Marvel’s Spider-Man Showcases Spidey’s Friends and Enemies

Sony Interactive and Insomniac Games released a new Marvel’s Spider-Man trailer and it features the people around Spider-Man both friends and foes. It is delivered in a “just the facts” type of manner by J. Jonah Jameson and introducing people like Aunt May, Miles Morales, and Mary Jane Watson. The villains that were featured are Electro, the Vulture, Rhino, Scorpion and so much more. The video is about two and a half minutes long. Marvel’s Spider-Man will officially launch on September 7 for PS4.


Ride 3 Launches November 8th

Milestone’s Ride 3 has been announced and it now runs on the Unreal Engine 4 giving players a completely revised experience. Still offering an extremely wide array of bikes as well as tracks from GPs and Supermotos. Country and City circuits are also available. For those who love Road Races there will be road circuits and for those who love acceleration races, the Drag Races are available for you. Ride 3 launches on November 8th and is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and XBox One.


Lucius III Returns for Its Final Journey

Lucius is returning for its final journey this year! With the title Lucius III, this creepy game will see the child Lucius as he fulfills the prophecy of the rapture. Lucius III also promises “a whole new narrative experience”. Lucius is a little boy who was born on June 6, 1966, and is the son of the devil himself. The game is not for the faint at heart because it contains disturbing and gory images. In Lucius II, we will also see some sort of repentance happening. It will be available in Steam by the end of this year.


Damnview: Built from Nothing Announced

Sandbox game Damnview: Built from Nothing has been announced, and is set to be released next year for PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. Damnview: Built From Nothing features anthropomorphic animal characters that explore the game’s world, taking on different jobs, and just simply trying to survive and succeed. The game also features a pixel art style as well as an interactive environment.


Sparklite Announced

Red Blue Games announced their new roguelite brawler-adventure game called Sparklite. Players get to play as Ada, an engineer who can invent guns and gadgets to solve puzzles and kill enemies with. She finds herself lost in a strange new land that is ravaged by gremlins. Ada’s mission is to save the world by stopping the invaders from getting the last of the life-blood called Sparklite. The environment is continuously shifting, and with it comes new quests. Sparklite will launch for PC by Fall of 2019.


Orphan PC Release Date Announced

Classic-style 2D action-platformer Orphan gets a release date. The game is set to be released officially on October 31st on PC, while its Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions will be released later this year. Orphan features a mix of stealth and action, and tells the story of an 8-year-old boy who’s fighting for his survival during an alien invasion. The game is set in the Appalachian, where Orphan sets out for survival in different environments such as mountains, caves, rivers, and more.


Hypegun Out Now on Steam

Create your very own synthwave as Hypergun is now available on Steam. Play as Dewey Owens, who is an intern at DevTech Labs and is trying to create the ultimate Hypergun. Get to enjoy the game’s procedural levels as well as modular weapons. The gun’s components are so random that it could include 3D glasses or even a banana. The game’s procedural levels that may be different but kind of feels the same at times. This shooter will give you circle-strafing and style as well as epic boss fights.


Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Launches New Gameplay with New Aircraft

Bandai Namco Entertainment released a new gameplay for the upcoming aircraft game Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. The gameplay trailer showcases “Mission 06 Long Day” as well as a new aircraft, the F/A-18F. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown was showcased in this year’s Gamescom, and will officially launch on January 18, 2019 for Xbox One and Playstation 4. PC players will get to play the game via Steam starting February 1st.

Far Cry 5’s New Game+ Lets Players Stack Character Perks

Ubisoft has announced the launch of the New Game+ mode in Far Cry 5. New Game+ enables players to start a new campaign while keeping their character’s progress on weapons, perks, unlocks, and challenges. This is available to any player who has completed the story campaign. Players can also repeat New Game+ as many times as they want, and will progressively upgrade their character each time. The mode will also stack the character’s perks. A more challenging Infamous difficulty is also available with this mode.


Co-op Shooter Strange Brigade Out Now

Rebellion’s Strange Brigade is available now and it will bring players to a squad shooter that has a 1930’s pulp adventure theme. The game is designed as a four-player co-op where players could get to choose a character from a band of adventurers who loots ancient tombs. You will get to kill the undead with guns or magic and solve a few puzzles here and there. The game also comes with a Deluxe Edition and for those who purchase the game within the month, you get a 5th character – Winston Bey as a bonus.


Destiny 2’s Next Raid Teased

Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion has not officially launched yet, and Bungie released a teaser, giving players a glimpse on what Forsaken’s endgame looks like. Forsaken’s endgame is mostly taking place in Dreaming City, where players need to save the city from whatever is controlling it. Bungie’s teaser also introduced what appears to be a new game mode or event called Blind Well where players need to survive waves of enemies in order to gain a reward. Dreaming City will be available for players who complete the main Forsaken campaign.

Spider-Man PS4 Post-Launch Content Revealed

In a post on the PlayStation blog, Insomniac Games’ community director, James Stevenson announced that Spider-Man will be getting a post-launch DLC on October 23rd. The DLC is called The Heist and is the first one from the three-part expansion that is called The City That Never Sleeps. It looks like each part of the DLC focuses on the different characters from Spider-Man’s life whether it be friend or foe. Marvel’s Spider-Man will launch for the PlayStation 4 on September 7th.


Cyberpunk 2077’s World Will Have a Lot of Destruction

The CD Projekt Red development team for Cyberpunk 2077 are trying to push the interactivity of the game world by adding a heavy amount of in-game destruction. Level designer Miles Tost said that this will “give life to our vision of what is very much a dark version of the future.” Tost added that “the game will be highly physical, will have a lot of destruction.” In addition to that, a high level of gore is also being added in order to bring about a more believable dystopian world.


Overwatch Offers New D.Va Skins for Nano Cola Challenge

Blizzard revealed a new skin for D.Va and her Meka as part of the Nano Cola Challenge. Players who complete the requirements from the challenges will win rewards such as sprays, skins, and icons. Requirements range from winning 3 games in total, to watching participating streams. Winning a certain number of games will reward players with the spray, icon, and skin, while linking your Twitch to your . Blizzard account and watching streams will reward you with the D.Va sprays.


Warhammer Vermintide 2’s Shadows Over Bogenhafen DLC Out Now

The newest Warhammer: Vermintide 2 DLC is out now and it is Shadows Over Bögenhafen. This is the first ever paid DLC for the game and it includes two new missions as well as a massive patch. Here, the plague god Nurgle is up to his antics again, and it is up to you to put a stop to it once again. The new missions are called “The Pit ” and “The Blightreaper”. No new weapons are included in the DLC but there will be new hats, weapon skins, and other cosmetic things available through the weekly challenge rewards.


F1 2018 and Shenmue Rise On the UK Sales Charts

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy has been booted out of the top of the UK Sales Charts after being in the top spot for a month straight! The number one spot now belongs to Codemasters’ F1 2018, which is followed by Sega’s Shenmue 1 and 2. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy now stands at the third spot, followed by GTA 5 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe respectively. This chart reflects in-store sales only and does not include digital sales.


Fear The Wolves Enters Early Access

Vostok Games’ battle royale FPS Fear The Wolves is now on Steam Early Access! The full game is expected to officially launch in 2019, along with its console versions. The game is slated to have a second update which is scheduled for the third week of September. This update will add a new car, highlight replays, weapon customization, and auto matchmaking. Its October update will include new movement options like vaulting, and more.


Five Nights at Freddy’s May Still Be Coming to Consoles

Remember Five Nights at Freddy’s? The horror game that released in 2014? Well, creator Scott Cawthorn’s previous announcement of the game being ported to consoles is now coming true. The announcement was posted in the Steam community saying that the deal has been made and the porting process is in progress. No additional information was given, only that more news will be available very soon. Five Nights at Freddy’s is currently available for PC and mobile devices.


Parkour Game Hover Coming to Consoles This September

Parkour game Hover, which released on PC back in May 2017, will be releasing to consoles, developer Midgar Studio announced in a press release. Hover will be available on Playstation 4 starting September 18th, and on Xbox One starting September 19th. It will also be coming to the Nintendo Switch on September 20th. Hover is a fast paced parkour game that can be played in single or in multiplayer. It is set in a futuristic 3D world that lets players slide, dash, bounce, and even wall-jump.
