Generation Zero Closed Beta Announced
Avalanche Studios has announced the beta schedule for their open-world co-op shooter Generation Zero, set in an alternate version of Sweden at the end of the 80’s. The Generation Zero beta will start on October 17th and end on October 21st. The beta will be available on PC and Xbox One and will only be open to 100,000 players. If you want to get in on the beta, you’ll have to sign up at the game’s official site before 8AM BST on September 30th. Generation Zero launches in 2019.
Gran Turismo Sport Update Brings Fuji Speedway and New Cars
Gran Turismo Sport has a free update which brings the Fuji Speedway! This comes with the GT layout and the F layout which can be played in reverse. There are also a few cars that come with it: the Alfa Romeo GIULIA TZ2 carrozzata da ZAGATO CN.AR750106 ’65, BMW M3 GT (BMW Motorsport) ’11, Mazda RX500 ’70, Plymouth XNR Ghia Roadster ’60, Honda NSX Type R ’92, Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX TwinTurbo 2seater (Z32) ’89, Porsche 911 GT3 (996) ’01, Porsche 911 GT3 (997) ’08 and Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe ’06.
MMO Wildstar Shuts Down in November
Carbine Studios is closing down and because of this, its PC MMO game Wildstar will be shutting down as well. Players will have up until November 28th to play the game before it completely closes, and before that happens Carbine would like players who are still playing to have a pleasant experience before saying goodbye. An update will give all the players Signature status and gear drops will have an increase in base level. Refunds will also be given to those who bought it since July 1st.
Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire Gets Second DLC
Obsidian Entertainment has announced the second major expansion coming to Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire. Dubbed “Seeker, Slayer, Survivor”, the upcoming expansion will focus on combat as it takes players to an undiscovered island filled with the most skilled and savage opponents in Eora. The expansion will launch alongside the game’s 3.0 update which brings the first of the mega bosses for end-game players, together with various bug fixes and balance improvements.
Joggernauts Release Date Announced
The colorful and light-hearted auto-runner game from Space Mace and Graffiti Games called Joggernauts just got a new trailer that reveals when the game will be launching. The trailer also gives us a peek at the switching mechanic of the game where players have to change the order of their team to match obstacles and break through them. There are also color-coded platforms, levers that need to be flipped, and different items to collect. The game is set to launch on October 12th for PC and the Switch.
Spider-Man and Shadow of the Tomb Raider Remain on Top of UK Chart
Marvel’s Spider-Man and Shadow of the Tomb Raider continued to dominate the UK sales charts last week, with both retaining the first and second places respectively. Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy climbed up one spot to third, pushing NBA 2K19 down to fourth. Lego The Incredibles has dropped out of the top ten and into eleventh place, while both PUBG and Sonic Mania Plus rejoin the top ten sellers list. The only new entry in the top 40 list is Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which he haven’t seen on the chart for a while.
Nintendo Switch Cloud Saves Get Six-Month Grace Period Before Deletion
The Nintendo Switch Online service is live for all the Switch owners and there is one feature that owners are still trying hard to swallow. According to the FAQs the cloud saves for games would be removed once the online subscription ended. But a clarification was given by Nintendo saying that subscribers will have a grace period of six months in order to resubscribe and get their saved files back. Also, if by chance your Switch is damaged or lost those files can never be recovered.
The Banner Saga 3’s Survival Mode DLC Out Now
Banner Saga 3 is getting a Survival Mode DLC which will be coming first to PC. This new DLC offers a challenge that will have players face off against hordes of enemies. Basing from the trailer of the expansion, it looks like there will be 30 waves of enemies that will become difficult as each wave passes. The new Survival Mode DLC is available to be purchased for $4.99. The Banner Saga 3 is already available for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch and will soon be available for iOS and Android.
Ace Combat 7 Will Support Unlimited Framerate and 8K Supersampling on PC
Bandai Namco’s Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will have the crispiest of images for the PC. The PC version will be able to support unlocked frame rates which means it can squeeze out every single drop that your gaming rig has, to give it the best gaming visuals that it can come up with. It will also be able to supersample the resolution to 200%. An example of this is that if your computer can render the game on 8K and squeeze that all down to 4K, then you’ve got a very sharp visual gameplay experience.
Cloud9 CS:GO Team Signs Flusha
Cloud9 has made changes to its Counter-Strike Global Offensive team this week. They’ve signed former Fnatic member, Robin “Flusha” Ronnquist, who has 3 championships under his belt and was integral in winning ELS One both in Cologne and in Katowice within a six month period back in 2015. He’ll be replacing Martin “STYKO” Styk who joined the team last summer on loan. You’ll see Flusha in action with his new teammates later this week at this year’s BLAST Pro Series in Istanbul.
Star Trek Online Age of Discovery Adventure PC Release Date Announced
Star Trek Discovery is set to launch on October 9th for the PC and on a later date for those playing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Here, players get to create a Federation Captain and join forces with the Starfleet Academy Cadet Sylvia Tilly. Age of Discovery is set in the year 2256, right after the Battle of the Binary Stars. There will be two installments available for the game. The first season of Star Trek: Discovery is available right now and the second season will be available by early next year.

Fallout 76 Beta Dates Announced
Fallout 76’s beta called the Break-It Early Test Application will first launch for Xbox One on October 23rd and will be available one week later for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. Those who are interested would need a Bethesda.net account to participate. For those planning to play on their consoles, a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold is needed. The devs explained that this is a true beta meaning that they plan to “stress test and break the game”. Because of this, the servers will not run 24/7 during this time.
Epic Disables Shadow Stone in Fortnite
As part of the upcoming season six of Fortnite, Shadow Stones were added to the game. These stones grant players temporary invisibility with a ghost-like dash ability. When in this state players cannot attack. A glitch in the game, however, happens when a player picks up the Shadow Stone and dies right after then revived by a teammate. These players continue to be invisible and are still able to use their abilities and items which is an unfair advantage. Because of this, Epic has decided to remove the Shadow Stones from the game.
Thronebreaker Pre-orders Now Open
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, the Witcher-based RPG that was taken out of a mini game from Witcher 3, is now available for pre-order! CD Projekt Red also announced that anyone who purchases the game will get digital goodies regardless if they pre-order or not. Aside from the base game, players will get the game’s soundtrack, a digital edition of Dark Horse’s Gwent: Art of the Witcher Card Game art book, concept art that includes a map of Lyria, and much more. Thronebreaker will be available starting October 23rd on GOG.
Pets in Fortnite Also Die When Its Owner Dies
Pets have recently been added to Fortnite, and you may be wondering what happens to them in the event their owner dies in the game. Thankfully, PC Gamer has given us an insight on these furry friends’ fates. In the screen caps provided by the player himself, the dog first acts like it’s confused as to what happened to its owner. Loaded weapons then pass through its body and then becomes a ghost dog as its spirit flies into the sky before respawning on the back of another player. Pets are part of Fortnite’s Season 6 update.
Cast of Shovel Knight Joins Brawlhalla
The indie fighting game Brawlhalla from developer Blue Mammoth Games will be getting additional characters. Players will get to see the armor-clad King Knight, Black Knight, Plague Knight and Spectre Knight plus of course Shovel Knight. Some posts do say that these are only skins instead of the actual characters but would have signature effects as well as unique animation. We will know for sure with the official announcement. Brawlhalla is available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.

Telltale Dev Reveals Bizarre Alternate Ending to The Walking Dead
A strange alternate ending has been shared for Telltale’s The Walking Dead protagonist named Lee. The video is absolutely crazy and silly but is completely brilliant. You will see Lee wearing the half part of a zombie head like a hat, flip over a car, dance like crazy, and do some Matrix moves on some zombies. This was done by creative director Sean Ainsworth, one of the two devs that were left behind to do some bug fixes for the game when this splendid idea for an alternate ending dawned upon him.
The Last of Us Part 2’s Main Theme Music Released
The main theme music of the Last Of Us Part 2 has been released by Naughty Dog and it is called “The Last Of Us (Cycles)”. The music is absolutely fitting for the game as it features some grim guitar tunes. This has been composed by award-winning musician and composer Gustavo Santaolalla. He is no stranger to The Last of Us franchise because his music was also used for the original game that launched in 2013. The Last Of Us Part 2 will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive game only.
Dying Light: Bad Blood Starting Off Slow With Its Player Count
Dying Light: Bad Blood’s player base is starting off slow. The game has reportedly been gathering only a small number of players since it launched less than a couple of weeks ago. According to GitHyp, the game’s peak player count is a little over 100 on September 27th, and sometimes it goes as low as 40. Dying Light: Bad Blood is still in Early Access, though, so these numbers could get better in the days to come.
American Truck Simulator Brings Players to Oregon in New DLC
The third major DLC for American Truck Simulator will be launching on October 4th and it will give players additional 5,000 miles of new roads in “Beaver State” Oregon. There will be forests, deserts, scrublands as well as urban areas to drive through. Also, 14 major cities are incorporated with this expansion complete with both natural and man-made landmarks. Additionally, there are 13 huge custom rest stops, 17 company docks and industries, 25 custom-built junctions and so much more.
Three New Players Join OpTic’s CoD Roster
Three new players are joining North American eSports team OpTic Gaming, the team has announced. The three new players are Thomas ‘TJHaLy’ Haly, Brandon ‘Dashy’ Otell, and Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow, and they will be joining the team’s Call of Duty pro roster along with current players Seth ‘Scump’ Abner and Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter. This new team will be competing in the next Black Ops 4 season. OpTic had to let go Anthony ‘Methodz’ Zinni and Sam ‘Octane’ Larew in order to make room for the new team members.
