Cthulhu Saves Christmas is Now Available
From the developers Zeboyd comes a new game called Cthulhu Saves Christmas. The game had been announced early this year and it is now available via Steam or GOG. In Cthulhu Saves Christmas, the dreamer R’lyeh is back and is tasked to save the most important thing which is Christmas. He must stop Jack Frost with the help of the granddaughter of Santa Clause. The game is available for $8.99 and if you buy before January 2, it will come with a copy of Cosmic Star Heroine.
Nioh 2 New Gameplay Revealed
A new gameplay has been announced for Nioh 2. This has been revealed via Dengeki Online who held a Christmas special stream on December 24. The reveal showed the Battle of Anegawa stage and a new boss called Magara Naotaka. Some changes had also been seen in the stream like those for the menus and graphic user interface. Nioh 2 is set to launch on March 13, 2020, and will be available for PlayStation 4.
Hydra Gets New Free Update
A new PvE operation has been announced for the game Hydra’s PC version. This is a free update for the holiday season and it comes with the new gameplay mechanics. In Hydra, players would need a team of three players. A new Special Operation mechanic is in play here and the reward is based on the number of repelled enemy waves. This new update will also come with new weapons that include powerful and popular models. The update will download automatically when the game is launched.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Demo and Patapon Remaster Rumored
Gamstat, a website that tracks upload activity on the PS Store, has revealed that a demo for Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be available sometime in the future. The website did not list any other details, and it’s best to treat this as a rumor as Square Enix has not announced anything yet. Also spotted in the website is the return of Patapon 2 Remastered, which was announced a couple of years ago then went off the radar. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is set to launch on March 3, 2020, while Patapon 2 launched back in 2008 for the PlayStation Portable.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Adds Snowball Fights for the Holidays
Snowball fights abound this season, and you can get your share in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Snowfight mode. The Snowfight mode will have two players take down foes using snowballs instead of guns and explosives. This will be available until December 31st only, so if you still haven’t joined the fun, do so now. If you’re still in the mood for some shooting action, the DropZone mode offers it for you, plus it also encourages teamwork, a perfect way to bond with other gamers this holiday season.
Star Citizen’s Squadron 42 Teased with New Trailer
Cloud Imperium Games released a new “visual trailer” for Star Citizen’s much-delayed Squadron 42 single-player mode. The trailer showcases the mode’s environment which includes dust clouds, mining operations, and stations. The trailer also showed off ships for the alien Vanduul, and also gives us an inside look at the inside of a space station and craft. Squadron 42 was delayed to July or September 2020; it was originally set to be released next summer.
Japanese Devs and Celebs Vote Death Stranding as Game of the Year
The Christmas Day issue of Famitsu reported that Death Stranding has been voted as Game of the Year 2019 by Japanese game developers and gaming celebrities. A total of 132 voters were sent the survey, with a total of 30 games voted. Death Stranding emerged with the most number of votes. Also included in the lot are Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice which got the third most number of votes, Days Gone at 7th, and Apex Legends at 10th. Last Year, it was Marvel’s Spider-Man that got voted as Game of the Year.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon Reveals Dragon Kart Minigame
A Dragon Kart minigame was introduced for Yakuza: Like a Dragon or also known as Yakuza 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness. Dragon Kart is a Yakuza-like version of Mario Kart. There will be four Dragon Kart Gran Prix, the most challenging of which is the “Dragon Cup” that is set in Kamurocho. Players will also be able to upgrade and personalize their karts with customizations. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is set to launch on January 16, 2020.
Chicago Huntsmen Signs MBoZe as Substitute Player
Marcus “MBoZe” has announced that he is coming back to professional Call of Duty. He will be the substitute player for the Chigaco Huntsmen’s 2020 Call of Duty League roster. MBoZe will be the substitute for former Enigma6 captain Jordon General. The 24-year -old player had been competing professionally in Call of Duty since 2012 and has played with other organizations like FaZe Clan, Optic Gaming, UNiTE Gaming and many more. The 2020 Call of Duty League season will kick off on January 24.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare ‘s Double XP Event Now Live
To celebrate the holidays, Infinity Ward has announced that Call of Duty Modern Warfare will have Double XP and Double Tier earn rate. This will hasten your tier progress when you are squeezing some playtime during the holidays. This limited event will only be available up until December 27th, 12 PM CT. After the three days, a tier sale will be happening for fans.
Avengers Game Missions for Single-Player and Co-op Revealed
Square Enix shared new information for their upcoming game Marvel’s Avengers. The game will come with a single-player campaign called Hero Missions and Warzone Missions that can be played with up to four players as well as solo. The game will take place in San Francisco where a horrific event has left it in ruins. So far, no specific launch date has been given for the game.
Kingdom Hearts 3 Remind DLC New Details Revealed
The Japanese site of Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts 3 has been updated, revealing new details about the game. The update introduces the “additional scenarios Remind” DLC content. Here, Sora will be traveling inside the hearts of the Seven Guardians of Light. Also, it has been revealed that players are able to change characters between Riku, Aqua, Roxas, Kairi and more. The Limit Cut Episode and Boss content had also been detailed. Kingdom Hearts 3 Remind will launch on January 23, 2020.
Ring of Elysium Holiday Event Live
The holiday cheer can be seen in Ring of Elysium with a limited-time event. Aurora Studios has revealed that players are able to purchase the special Christmas bundle or gift box and join the daily Christmas missions and Christmas Card-Flip up until December 31. The Christmas bundle includes limited-edition cosmetic items like the holiday Sakura skin and epic quality FAMAS weapon skin and it is for 1580 E-Points. Each gift box will have one random themed item for 100 E-Points.
The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki Announced
The newest game in the Trails franchise has been announced by Nihon Falcom and it is The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki. When translated it means, “the Miracle of Beginning”. Right now the game is announced to be available for the PlayStation 4 and will launch in Japan by the summer of 2020. The very first screenshots of the game had been shared as well. The game will consist of over 50 characters having some new ones. The game will have new mechanics as well as large scale episodes.
Fortnite Experiencing Blizzards In-game
It is the winter months in Fortnite, so we can expect cold weather in the game. However, recently there had been full-blown blizzards in the game which is puzzling players. The in-game blizzards would appear out of nowhere darkening the sky and heavy curtains of snow would fall. The visibility in the map gets reduced so much that players are only able to see a few feet of what’s in front of them. After a few minutes, the blizzard would go away, and everything will go back to the normal winter scene.
Bloodstained to be Updated Soon for all Platforms
Bloodstained is planning to update all of its versions by January 2020. Hopefully, this will sync all of the platforms of the game. Right now, only the Xbox One version is up to date with version 1.006. Also, a promised DLC for the game is underway adding a new playable character named Zangetsu, as well as two new modes which include the Boss Revenge. Other playable characters have been announced to be coming, but this DLC doesn’t have a release window as of yet.
Frictional Games Launches New Vague Teaser
The studio behind great horror games like Amnesia and SOMA, Frictional Games has launched a very vague teaser. Frictional has a site for announcing games called NextFrictionGame. The site came to life recently, approximately within the last 24 hours and it featured a small blinking light at the center of the screen that is running on a four-second loop. Right now nothing in the screen is clickable on the site, which will have you staring at it endlessly. We have to wait for more information to know more.
Google Stadia Pro New Free Games are Rise of the Tomb Raider and Thumper
Google has announced the free games that are coming to the Stadia Pro. Come this January, the lineup for free games are the adventure sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider and the rhythm game called Thumper. What this means, is that the current free game which is Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will be stopping at exactly December 31, 12 PM Eastern Time. Those who were already able to claim this as a free game previously can still keep it. With this announcement, the bonus catalog of Stadia Pro is five games.
New Yakuza Like a Dragon Trailer Features In-game Distractions
An almost five-minute trailer had been launched by Sega and Team Yakuza for their upcoming action RPG game, Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The video features the different things that you can do in the game. We get to see protagonist Ichiban Kasuga go gambling, karting, taking an exam, playing the piano, and beating up thugs. The game Yakuza is known for its many side-quests and it looks like with Like a Dragon they are raising the bar even more. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is set to launch on PS4 on January 16, 2020.
Fallout 4 Mod Brings Players to Silent Hill-like Hell
Fallout 4 has a mod that will change the post-nuclear environment of the game into Silent Hill-like. The mod is called Whispering Hills and it will change the landscape into a foggy, horror world. The mod has about 10 different thick fog weather effects. Also, the background effects are much more spookier than before. Of course, monsters had been added as well like Ghouls, mutant dogs, Twin-Head Screamers plus the latest addition which is then Sirenhead.
ESP Ra.De. Might Have a Western Release
This has not been confirmed, but we are thinking that ESP Ra.De. might have a western release. This came about because the PlayStation Trophy tracker Exopahse spotted some English language versions of the trophies for the M2 re-release of Cave shooters. The classic version of the game ESP Ra.De. Psi had been released in Japan and it features an overhaul of the game’s visuals, re-recorded dialogue, and new modes and features. It is available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Fallout 76 Cheat Had a Hacker Steal Items from Hundreds of Players
Last weekend a new hack had been used in Fallout 76. The hack helped a hacker steal items from hundreds of other players who are close enough that they can be seen on screen. The players that had their items stolen would then appear naked, with everything gone from their inventory. Fallout 76 had to go offline because of the exploit. Bethesda is still thinking of ways on how to compensate the players that had their stuff stolen.
