AUGUST 23 PART 1

Shenmue 3 Release Date Announced

The release date for Shenmue 3 was pushed back, and now we get to know when the game will be released. Deep Silver has announced that the game will be released on August 27, 2019, and will be available on PC and Playstation 4. Shenmue 3 was announced back in E3 2015, and was delayed to the second half of this year last summer. It was further delayed to 2019 as announced last May.


Jump Force Adds Characters from Hunter x Hunter, Vegeta, and More

A new anime-fighting game has been announced and it is called Jump Force. During Gamescom 2018 a new trailer introduces us to six new characters being added to the game. Two of which comes from Hunter X Hunter, protagonist Gon and antagonist Hisoka. The Dragon Ball roster has been added to as well with Vegeta the Saiyan Prince. One Piece gets the bulk of the addition with Sanji, Sabo and Blackbeard. Along with the trailer is the introduction of a new stage from Dragon Ball called planet Namek.


Battlefield 5 Customization Options Revealed

Battlefield 5 is being featured prominently during Gamescom and one thing that was shared about the game is its customization and progression system known as The Company. This is essentially your collection of soldiers as well as different customization options. A Company can be established with each faction, meaning you can have one for the British armies and one for the German armies. Combat Roles are also available which would include unique loadouts and abilities for the four major classes.


Saints Row: The Third Getting a Switch Port

Deep Silver has announced during Gamescom 2018 that Saints Row: The Third will be getting a Nintendo Switch port. No other details were revealed at this time, but Deep Silver promised that they will reveal more information on the game’s Switch port’s release at a later time. Saints Row: The Third is currently available on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and on Xbox One through the Xbox backwards compatibility feature..


Soulcalibur 6 Announces Tira DLC, Introduces Libra of Soul Story Mode

A new video released by Bandai Namco revealed that Soulcalibur 6 will let players create their own custom fighter once again. The custom fighter can be used by players when playing the game’s single-player story campaign, Libra of Soul. In addition to this, there’s a new character coming to the game, and it is no other than Tira. She is the wielder of the ring blade named Eiserne Drossel. Tira will be added to the game as a DLC.Soulcalibur 6 is heading to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 19th.


Forza Horizon 4 Multiplayer Detailed

Playground Games was able to reveal more about Forza Horizon 4’s team-based competitive multiplayer during Gamescom. An example of this is that the traditional competitive multiplayer games just like Flag Rush and Infected are now team-based. In Infected, when your teammates get infected you now have the option to heal them. And in the team-based traditional race, the winner is not the first one to finish, but it will be based on the teams score with the most points overall.


PUBG Leaves Xbox Game Preview

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be leaving the Xbox Game Preview program and will officially launch on the Xbox One with version 1.0. It will launch on September 4th. The game’s version 1.0 will also include bug fixes, performance improvements, and content additions such as a faster-paced Sanhok, new vehicles, dynamic weather, and new weapons. It will also come with War Mode, the deathmatch-style game mode. Players of the game’s Xbox One Preview version can carry over their progress to version 1.0.


Twin Mirror Reveals Secrets in New Trailer

Dontnod has revealed a new trailer for its mystery title Twin Mirror. The game is a psychological thriller and is about a young man named Sam who’s an investigative journalist. He wakes up and finds himself in his bloodied shirt and little memory of the night before. The player will be the one to guide him in finding the truth through the help of his skill “Mind Palace.” It allows him to recreate his past and aid with his investigation. Twin Mirror will be released in episodes, with the first one launching in 2019.


State of Decay 2 Daybreak Pack Coming Next Month

State of Decay 2 is having an expansion with the Daybreak Pack which will be released on September 12. This is a standalone mode where players get to play as a Red Talon soldier who is tasked to defend specific locations in a new map from zombie attacks. There will be swarms of these zombies including the new blood-plague juggernaut. Finishing the tasks will earn you some prestige for the base game. For protection, you can recruit a leader in the form of a Red Talon elite soldier.


Sea of Thieves Forsaken Shores Release Date Announced

The newest update for Sea of Thieves called the Forsaken Shores will launch on September 19th as revealed by Rare during Gamescom 2018. Forsaken Shores will bring a volcanic world to the game called the Devil’s Roar which is an island that will from time to time shake, erupt, fling rocks, launch geysers as well as heat up the water around it to the point that it could burn you alive. A rowboat has been included because of this. New merchant missions will also be introduced called Cargo Runs.


Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown PC and Console Release Date Announced

Bandai Namco has revealed Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown’s release date! The game will be making its way to PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4 on January 18, 2019. It also got a new trailer which shows how far along the developers have come in terms of the game’s development. Ace Combat 7 will include various missions which could test players’ skills such as blasting targets on the ground, taking on larger vessels, and even facing off with more advanced jets.

Darksiders 3 Shows Off the Enemies Fury Will Face

Darksiders 3 has a new trailer and it shows off the enemies that Fury will be fighting in the game. The brand new trailer was shared during Gamescom and it features Fury – one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse – slaughtering her way through a legion of monsters to recapture the Seven Deadly Sins. One of the enemies seen is the giant, crab-like Sloth as well as other equally scary bosses. Darksiders 3 launches on November 27 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Pre-orders are now available!


The Surge 2 Gameplay Revealed at Gamescom

Deck 13 and FocusHome Interactive released a gameplay trailer for their upcoming game The Surge 2. The trailer isshort, but it gives us a peek at the game’s environment and some combat footage. The Surge 2 takes place in the park sector which is located outside the industrial warehouses and assembly halls of the first game. Combat is now much faster, and shows a wide array of weapons, including axes. the game is still currently in development and is expected for a release in 2019.


BattleTech is Getting an Expansion

Harebrained Schemes’ BattleTech, the turn-based strategy game, is getting its very first expansion called Flashpoint. This will come with new Battle Mechs, a new mission type, and a new biome. There will also be three new vehicles, one of which is a Hatchetman class BattleMech that is melee-focused. The new biome is a tropical biome that features more water in the map that will enhance the integral heatsinks of the “Mechs”. The release date of the expansion is not yet available for now.


The Crew 2’s Gator Rush Update Launches in September

Ubisoft has confirmed that The Crew 2’s Gator Rush update will be rolling out this September. Gator Rush mode will be available as a free update on September 26th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Gator Rush includes a brand new discipline for The Crew 2 which centers around the hovercraft. It also introduces five new vehicles to the game, over 20 new activities, plus the new Ace difficulty mode and the Legendary part rarity. Gator Rush is the first free update for The Crew 2.


Ubisoft Won’t Release an Assassin’s Creed Game in 2019

Ubisoft announced that they won’t be releasing a new Assassin’s Creed game in 2019. The reason behind this as stated by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is that they will be having two games released back-to-back. So instead of having a new game, we will get to see more content for Odyssey. This will give the developers more time to re-examine the Assassin’s Creed franchise and think of different innovations for the game. Assassins Creed Odyssey will launch on October 5th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.


NBA 2K Loot Boxes Adjusted in Compliance with Belgian Gambling Laws

Take Two Interactive has adjusted NBA 2K’s loot boxes in order to comply with Belgian gambling laws. The changes were done specifically to the NBA 2K MyTeam feature. 2K said in a statement that they will be “turning off the ability to purchase packs with premium (non-earned) currency/Virtual Currency.” MyTeam lets players create their custom team, and one way to acquire players is to buy random cards. This mechanic has been deemed illegal in Belgium.


FIFA 19’s Pro Clubs and Career Mode are Unchanged

Recently FIFA 19 had been concentrating on the Champions League license and nothing was said about the game’s Career Mode and Pro Clubs. But now all that changes as EA confirms that there will be no major changes done to FIFA 19’s version of Career Mode and Pro Clubs. They even added that the bulk of the new content will be available in the game’s Kick Off portion. FIFA 19 is set to release on September 28 and will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.


Sci-fi Battle Royale Game Stormdivers Announced

Housemarque revealed their new battle royale game, Stormdivers. Stormdivers is a third-person sci-fi multiplayer battle royale shooter that pits players in an island where they not only need to fight each other, but also dodge a devastating nano storm. Built on Epic’s Unreal Engine just like other battle royale games, Stormdivers will support solo and team modes. It is currently being developed for PC, and it is expected to be released in 2019.


THQ Nordic Announces New Desperados Game

During Gamescom, THQ Nordic was able to reveal a new tactical game that is set in the Wild West and it is called Desperados. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is actually a revival of the game that was launched back in 2001 called Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive. This new installment however will come from the developer of Shadow Tactics called Mimimi and had been described as a “hardcore stealth game”. There are new characters plus characters from the original.


Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden Release Date Announced

Do you remember that game about the duck, boar and semi-human? The game is called Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden by developer Bearded Ladies. Good news is that this XCOM-like strategy game finaly has a release date which is on December 4th and it will be available to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic Earth where the humans have been wiped out and only a new species of mutated beings are left to roam the planet. The game is based on a pen-and paper Mutant RPG.


Fortnite Gets a New Item Called Rift-to-Go

Fortnite has announced a new item in their in-game news bulletin and it is the Rift-To-Go which is a “portable escape plan” item. The item is so portable that you can carry it in your pocket. Players who use this can teleport above their current location or perhaps glide down. This new item is sure to create a new tactical team play as well as offer more flanking opportunities. Also, the limited-time mode the Soaring 50’s will soon come into play, this is a 50v50 mode with re-deployable gliders.
