Double Fine’s RAD to Launch in August

Double Fine has labelled August 20, 2019, the day its post-apocalyptic action rogue-like RAD will drop. In the game, you play as a teenager who is on a quest to resuscitate a word that has been a victim of two apocalypses. On your journey, you will traverse an everchanging radioactive wasteland. The further you venture there more potent the toxins become. The toxins can kill you but you also gain strange abilities from being exposed to them. RAD will be available for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.


Hell Is Other Demons Now on Steam

Cuddle Monster Games is pleased to announce that Hell Is Other Demons is currently available in the Steam Store. Previously, it was only released on Kongregate’s new store Kartridge but now exclusive Steam users can also bask in the excitement this fast-paced, action, sidescroller offers. According to the developer, it is as a straight forward high-score-hunting game at heart. However, there is a campaign mode with unique bosses that you can contend with if you so desire.


Days Gone Patch Fixes Bugs But Adds A Few More

SIE Bend Studio has released a new patch for Days Gone that fixes bugs preventing players from completing three missions and some audio progression problems. During launch week the game saw frequent patches until there was a three-week patch drought. Now the developer has gotten the ball rolling once more with Patch 1.08. The patch came with a note attached that basically said the developers are looking reduce the number of patches but “add more fixes, features, and optimizations with each patch.”


Frontier Investigates Elite Dangerous Hacks

Frontier has announced that hacking is a nuisance in Elite Dangerous that is being actively investigated. Hackers are not new to the game, but there has been a dramatic increase noticed by members of the community. A thread on Reddit outlined a specific group that’s been cheating since August of last year. Announcing an investigation has both negative and positive effects, the downside is it alerts the hackers while the plus side is it informs the legit players and includes them in the fight.


CS:GO Bug Lets You Change the Shape of Smoke

A new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive exploit has been uncovered, which enables players to reset fire from molotovs, or change the shape of the smokes. This is a major issue because it is currently permissible by the game and will go completely undetected by anti-cheat engines. Ina game as competitive as CS: GO, this can have extreme game-changing effects. On the plus side, the exploit can only be used once but it is still an issue that should be addressed as early as possible.


Red Dead Online’s Poker Restricted In Some Regions

Rockstar Games added poker to Red Dead Online as the title left beta last week, but has restricted the feature in some regions due to varying gambling laws. This is an educated approach by the company as there have been hiccups surrounding games with lootboxes. Technically, opening lootboxes is a form of gambling and therefore offensive to nations that deem the act illegal. Poker in Red Dead Online has no direct real-world implications but the developer prefers to be safe than sorry.


Killing Floor Bundle Available for Game’s 10th Anniversary

The Killing Floor franchise is turning 10 years old this month. To celebrate the milestone, developer Tripwire Interactive will bundling Killing Floor 2 and VR spin-off Killing Floor: Incursion into a discounted package called Killing Floor: Double Feature. The only caveat here is that the bundle will only be available on the PlayStation 4. Double Feature includes all seasonal content since the Killing Floor 2 first launched back in 2016. It also comes with the Mrs. Foster DLC which adds one more playable character to the mix.


Ooblets Possible Alpha Test Revealed

The official Ooblets Twitter account is teasing that a closed alpha may happen before the game possibly hits Early Access. Ooblets is sort of a cross between Pokemon and farming sims being developed by Glumberland. The “hypothetical” announcement also seems to be hinting that people who sign up for Ooblets’s mailing list may get a chance to join the alpha if it does happen. Creator Rebecca Cordingley originally planned for the game to launch in the first half of 2018, but the game continues to be in development until now.


Ubisoft Open to Tweaking Division 2 Raid Difficulty for Consoles

Some players are criticizing The Division 2’s first ever raid for its difficulty, especially for players on consoles. This discussion started on a Reddit thread announcing that the raid had finally been beaten on PS4. Johan from Ubisoft said that the raid is “designed to be the toughest challenge yet in the history of the franchise” and is “built around the idea of a well-coordinated team with good communications.” Nevertheless, he acknowledged that raid difficulty is part of the feedback they’re looking into for Dark Hours and it’s possible tweaks will be made in future updates.


Katana Zero Huge Update Brings Hard Mode

Katana Zero’s upcoming update will be adding two new modes to the flashy action-platformer. These are the new Hard mode and Speedrun mode. Hard mode won’t just elevate the difficulty, it’ll also introduce new enemies and add remixed versions of existing bosses and stages. Speedrun mode will let players skip cutscenes and will come with “stable enemy behaviors”, whatever that means. Aside from adding the two modes, the update will also now allow players to pet the in-game cat. The update will arrive at the end of the month.


Nintendo Looks to Microsoft for Streaming Service

Another company might be looking to Microsoft to power the cloud side of its streaming service. Industry analyst David Gibson has revealed on Twitter that Microsoft’s Azure tech will also serve as the backbone of Nintendo’s planned streaming service which will be made available in specific regions. Gibson also said that it’s possible Nintendo will allow Microsoft and Sony streaming services on their platforms. This is not an official announcement though as Gibson isn’t even affiliated with Nintendo, so take it with a grain of salt.


Dauntless Launches and is Fully Cross-play Compatible

Dauntless has been released through the Epic Games Store and is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. What’s really amazing is that the game has cross-play support across all three platforms. This means that you can play the game in consoles and continue your progression on PC or vice versa. Admittedly, developer Phoenix Labs co-founder Jesse Houston said that they first thought that full cross-play was a “truly audacious goal” but is thankful that it was made possible.


Major Combat Overhaul For Path Of Exile

Path Of Exile’s Legion update is set to launch for PC on June 7th and for the consoles on June 10th. As compared to the previous update called Synthesis, Legion is actually light in content but it comes with some quality-of-life upgrades to the game’s meta. Legion will also come with new class archetypes, a new league, new forms of loot as well as new monsters to fight. The combat system will also get an overhaul to make the melee in PoE more responsive having greater control in combat.


The Sims 4 Free on Origin

The Sims 4 which launched back is 2014 is now free through Origin until next week. This game happens to be the longest-running out of all The Sims game’s having a whole lot of add-on and updates. You can get your copy through the Origin client or their online storefront and it is yours to keep forever. You have to hurry up and get your copy as this will only be available up until May 28th. Recently, new expansions had been released for the game like Get Famous, where your career is an influencer.


Epic Locks Account of People Who Buys to Fast

The first Epic Games Store mega sale is on hand and it has its fair share of problems. One of which is that gamers who purchase multiple games immediately get locked out of their accounts. The explanation for this is that the store has “aggressive fraud rules”. Streamer Patrick Boivin was one of those who has been flagged for buying 5 games, he suggests for the site to have a shopping cart so that this would not happen again. The shopping cart, Epic says is in the works, but no dates for it yet.


Swedish Studio Shrakmob acquired by Tencent

Tencent, a Chinese tech and video game company was able to fully acquire the Swedish studio Sharkmob. Sharkmob had been founded in 2017 and was composed of industry veterans from IO Interactive and Ubisoft. The studio had been working on an unannounced online game and was also working with Tencent for some projects. Sharkmob is happy to have the extra “reach and resources” with Tencent. Tencent, on the other hand, is impressed with Sharkmob’s track record.


Mod Tools Coming to Total War: Three Kingdoms Via DLC

Total War: Three Kingdoms is launching tomorrow and Creative Assembly was able to reveal some post-launch plans which include a new type of DLC pack as well as a new Assembly Kit. There will be chapter packs that will have new start positions, events and heroes. Mod tools are also coming and will be having an expanded scope plus updated tools. The mod tools are already being beta tested by a group of modders, which we hope will be almost perfect when this will be launched.


Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 2 Remake Now a Part of Capcom’s Platinum Titles list

Capcom is updating their Platinum Titles list adding two more games which are Devil May Cry 5 and the Resident Evil 2 Remake. The Platinum Titles list are games that were able to sell over one million copies. As of March 31, 2019, the company’s year-end, there had been 100 games that were able to reach this status. The most recently added is Devil May Cry 5 which was able to sell 2.1 million units since March 8, this year and Resident Evil 2 Remake was able to sell 4.2 million units.


Mordhau Character Select Screen Accessed within Game Map

If you needed a break from the Mordhau Contraband map some players were able to figure out a way wherein which you can go to the character select screen. Player MiZiikE was able to share the details on how to do this. Apparently, the virtual camera that is providing the scenery during the character select screen is available within the map. What this means is that you can hang out here if you wanted to escape the play area for a while. It is a harmless thing but it would possibly be patched out.


The Longest Journey Gets New Textured Mod

The Longest Journey is a point-and-click adventure that launched in 1999 and was loved by many at that time. One modder was able to create a high-res makeover mod for the game which gives it upscaled backgrounds and sprites. The user interface had been redrawn as well and there had been a lot of small improvements all over. The game will let you play as April Ryan who is tasked to maintain the balance of the universe. The parallel universes are bleeding into each other, and she must put a stop to that.


Darksiders II Gets Xbox 4K Patch

Darksiders II finally gets its 4K patch after six months. The patch had been announced back in November 2018 and it is only now that the game was able to receive this. The patch is for the Xbox One X and it is called Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition. This will allow the game to run at 4K resolutions with 60 frames per second. Also part of the patch are bug fixes for the glitched BFA achievement, as well as some performance issues. With the launch of this edition, the game had been given a new life.


Red Dead Online Update Adds Two Notable Characters

A new Red Dead Online update is arriving and PS4 players are first to give it a try, Xbox One players will follow. First off, the update will add the Free Roam missions which will add 2 characters to the game and they are Sadie Adler and Black Belle. A 25% increase will also come to A Land of Opportunity as well as Free Roam missions plus the Showdown modes, Races and Free Roam events.
