New Fortnite Update Coming Soon

A new update is heading to Fortnite soon! Update v5.30 will be available starting Thursday, August 23rd, and new weekly challenges, also called Week 7, will be available a day later, which is on Friday, August 24th. Epic Games has not shared the details on what’s coming with the new patch, or what the new challenges are. We are only a few days from the new update’s launch, so we can expect to know more before then. The most recent update was the massive v5.21, which was released last week.


Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Battle Royale Beta Announced

Call of Duty Black Ops 4’s Blackout Battle Royale is going to have a beta, and we finally have the dates! the Blackout battle royale beta, which is an exclusive beta by the way, will start on September 14th at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET for those who pre-ordered any edition of Call of Duty Black Ops 4. The beta will be open to everyone who has a Battle.Net account just 24 hours later, regardless of whether they pre-ordered or not. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will be launching on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 12th.


GTA Online Hunting Pack Gets Overhauled

Hunting Pack, the popular Adversary mode from Grand Theft Auto Online’s Year 2 gets an overhaul! The overhaul comes as part of the After Hours content pack follow-up. In case you didn’t know, in Hunting Pack, a huge vehicle is strapped with a bomb, and the bomb will explode if the vehicle’s speed slows down for too long. The revamped version lets players play on custom-designed neon-coated stunt tracks located above the city.


God of War’s New Game+ Mode Detailed

God of War’s highly-anticipated New Game+ mode is out now! This mode allows players to get another run at the game, but they get to keep the weapons, abilities, and various unlocks from the first playthrough. The mode also brings a variety of new challenges, altered enemy attack patterns, and more. Players who take on New Game+ will also get a new shield skin, while those who the mode on Give Me God of War+ difficulty will unlock a second exclusive shield skin.


Life is Strange 2 Trailer Reveals New Story Details

Square Enix and Dontnod Entertainment have finally released the official reveal trailer for Life is Strange 2, revealing that the episodic adventure will follow the story of two brothers, 16-year old Sean and and 9-year old Daniel, who needed to “flee their home in suburban Seattle after a tragic event changes their lives forever.” On the run from the police, they’ll find themselves headed to their hometown in Puerto Lobos, Mexico. The first episode is set to release on September 27th.


Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Release Date Revealed

From Software has announced that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be launching on March 22nd on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Sekiro will feature a one-armed protagonist who makes use of different prosthetic tools to turn the tide of battle to his favor. He also wields a sword for dealing with enemies and a grappling hook for utility. The game also features a resurrection mechanic that makes dying a lot less punishing. A limited Collector’s Edition is available for pre-purchase now that features a Shinobi figurine.


Dota 2 Card Game Artifact Announces Beta

Valve’s Dota 2 card game Artifact will be having its beta this October. Valve announced on Twitter that attendees of The International 2018 and PAX West will get a copy of Artifact which also includes beta access. Valve did not confirm, though, whether the beta will be open to everyone, or will be limited to just those who attended the said events. Artifact will be launching on November 28th, and will be available for PC.


World War Z Shows Huge Zombie Hordes in New Trailer

A new terrifying trailer has been released for Saber Interactive’s World War Z. The trailer shows off the massive hordes of zombies players will have to face in the game. The game will make use of the Swarm engine which specializes in handling huge enemy counts at a time. This means that the game can spawn hundreds of zombies at a time. Zombies can also climb up each other to overcome walls and barricades. The game is due out in 2019 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.


A Hat in Time Gets Free Story DLC and Co-op Mode Next Month

Gears for Breakfast made two big announcements for A Hat in Time during this year’s Gamescom. The first was that the game is headed to the Switch. The second is that there’s a couple of free content inbound for the game. A story add-on called “Seal the Deal” will include new story content, six new time rifts, and a higher difficulty mode called Death Wish. Seal the Deal will be free for 24 hours when it releases on September 13, so make sure to get it then. A local co-op mode will also be released for free on the same day.


Horror Game Transference to Release Next Month

Ubisoft has finally revealed when we’ll get to play their upcoming story-driven horror adventure, Transference. The game, made in partnership with SpectreVision, will be coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4 on September 18th and will support PSVR, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift. A free prequel demo is out now. Dubbed The Walter Test Case Demo, it lets players sample how the game will play while also laying the foundation of the story that will unfold in the actual game.


Dying Light Battle Royale Launches on Early Access in September

Techland’s take on the battle royale scene is headed to Steam Early Access this September. Dying Light: Bad Blood will have up to 12 players battling not just each other but also the wandering undead as they scavenge for weapons and the oh-so-crucial blood samples. The stand-alone multiplayer spin-off will also feature the parkour movement and thrilling melee combat the series has become known for. The game will transition to free-to-play when it leaves Early Access, but early adopters will receive exclusive in-game items.

Horror Anthology The Dark Pictures Announced

From the creators of Until Dawn comes an anthology of horror games that is called The Dark Pictures. Supermassive is partnering with Bandai Namco for the project. The very first episode for this stand-alone cumulative cinematic horror games is called Man of Medan which will be releasing for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2019. A quick footage of the game showed some young adults on a boat, talking about horror stories and cursed objects under water. Two stories are planned per year.


Fallout 76 Shows Off the New American Dream

Fallout 76 received a new trailer from Bethesda during Gamescom and it features the building system of the game. The new system is called Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform or CAMP. This will allow players to create both items and weapons with raw materials and resources that you pick up from the wasteland. The trailer is presented in the usual cartoon-type, over-the-top, video featuring Vault Boy. Fallout 76 launches for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November this year.


Dark Souls Trilogy Coming to Consoles

The Dark Souls Trilogy is coming to consoles this year! This new compilation pack contains the games Dark Souls: Remastered, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition. Additionally, all previously released DLCs for the three games are also included in the Trilogy package. The first Souls game, Demon’s Souls, is not included though. The Dark Souls Trilogy will be available starting October 19th on PS4 and Xbox One.


FIFA 19 The Journey Will Have Three Playable Characters

FIFA 19 will let players experience three different stories in its The Journey story mode. Alex Hunter will be back for the third and final time, and with him are his good pal Danny Williams and sister Kim Hunter. All three of them are playable characters. The trailer shows Alex Hunter starting out in Real Madrid, with the story centered on the newly added Champions League. His sister Kim’s focus is establishing herself in the US national team, while Danny is shown in a Manchester United strip.


MapleStory 2 Gets Into Battle Royale

For a couple of months now, MapleStory 2 has been in and out of closed beta, but finally a release date has been announced which is on October 10th. By August 22nd, players will be able to play in the game’s battle royale mode called Mushking Royale. Players are also able to reserve character names by that date exclusively for that mode. Those who will top in the Mushking Royale mode will be awarded Founder’s Packs that would include some exclusive items as well as cosmetics.


Trials Rising Launches February, Closed Beta Announced

During Gamescom, Tedlynx was able to reveal a launch announcement for their newest game — Trials Rising. The game is said to launch February 12th next year, and will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Also, a closed beta will be available starting September 13th up until the 16th. To sign up for the beta, players must have a Ubisoft account. The game is planned to have two expansions after its launch. The gold edition of the game will come with the two expansions already.


Biomutant Gameplay Revealed at Gamescom

Experiment 101 and THQ Nordic’s open-world action-RPG Biomutant was showcased at Gamescom, and we got fresh new details about the game. Biomutant lets players change the abilities and appearance of their characters in the game through mutation, weapons, and bionic prosthetics. It features a martial arts style combat, crafting, and more. Its open world lets you create your own adventure either on foot, or with the use of vehicles like jet skis, or air balloons. It is expected to launch within this year on PC and consoles.


The Sinking City Gets New Cinematic Trailer

Frogwares has released a new trailer for their upcoming game The Sinking City. The trailer is purely cinematic, and shows protagonist Charles Winfield Reed waking up from what looks like a nightmare. He gets up and picks up his tommy gun and finds weird stuff around him. He looks up and sees the sea up in the sky falling down on him. He gets submerged in water, and a huge tentacle pulls him, but he finds himself back on the street, seemingly unharmed, and the never-ending horror goes on again. The Sinking City launches on March 21, on PC and consoles.


Hearthstone’s Puzzle Lab Mode Out Now

The Hearthstone’s Boomsday Project has something new launched today and it is called the Puzzle Lab. This is a new solo mode for the game that has single-turn puzzles across four categories. The four categories include Lethal, Mirror, Board Clear and Survival. In Lethal, your goal is to wipe out the enemy. Mirror’s goal is to have an identical lineup of minions to your opponent. Board Clear is to wipe out both yours and your opponent’s minions and with Survival, you must not at any cost die.


Gamescom Best of Show Winners Revealed

Gamescom has revealed its Best of Show Winners! We’ll give you some of those on the list. Ubisoft’s city-building real-time strategy game Anno 1800 took home the Best PC Game award, while Ori and the Will of the Wisps is named the best Xbox One Game, and Spider-Man as the Best PS4 Game. Other titles awarded were FIFA 19 for Best Sports Game, Call of Duty Black Ops 3 for Best Social/Online Game, and Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition for Best Role-Playing Game. Gamescom takes place until August 25th in Cologne, Germany.


Devil May Cry 5 Release Date Announced

Capcom took Gamescom by storm by finally announcing Devil May Cry 5’s release date along with a new trailer. The much awaited adventure of Nero and Dante will hit store shelves on March 8, 2019, and will be available to PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. The trailer showed some awesome gameplay which showcased Nero’s mechanical arms called “Devil Breakers.” Dante makes a brief appearance in the trailer, showing off his new motorcycle.
