The Game Awards 2019 Nominees Announced
Nominees for The Game Awards 2019 have been named, and you can now vote for your favorite games! There’s going to be a tight competition for Game of the Year as the nominees are: Control, Death Stranding, Resident Evil 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and The Outer Worlds. Voting can be done through The Game Awards’ official website, or through Google — just make a Google search using the keywords “TGA Vote.” You may also cast your votes via The Game Awards Discord, Amazon Alexa, Facebook Messenger, or Twitter.
The Outer Worlds Gets Font Size Option
Obsidian has released a new patch for The Outer Worlds, and it includes an option for players to change the game’s font size. Players may access this through the Settings menu, in the UI tab. The patch also includes other fixes such as issues on the game crashing when the player has reached Tartarus, and players experiencing muffled sounds on the PS4. This patch also rebalances the Prismatic Hammer. The full patch notes are up at the Obsidian forums.
Soulcalibur 6 Season 2 Launches Next Week
Bandai Namco is kicking off Soulcalibur 6’s second season on November 25th. This will be available on all platforms. This new season will also welcome the addition of Hildegard Von Krone, popularly known as Hilde, and will be available for purchase starting November 26th. Season two will also bring in new stuff, including the “Resist Attack” counter, and the new powerful “Soul Attack” mechanic. There will also be a new stage called “The Sanctuary of Steel Wolves,” and a new training venue, “Underground Labyrinth: Sealed Corridor.”
Rust Premium DLC Brings New Playable Instruments
Rust has a new DLC which adds new playable instruments to the game. Rust already has an acoustic guitar available, and with the new instrument pack, players will now be able to play The Wheelbarrow Piano, The Junkyard Drum Kit, The Shovel Bass, Xylobones, The Plumber’s Trumpet, The Sousaphone, The Cowbell, The Canbourine, The Jerry Can Guitar, and The Pan Flute. The Instrument Pack will be available starting December 5th for 10 US Dollars.
Detroit: Become Human PC Release Date Now Official
The PC release date for Detroit: Become Human has finally been announced. The game will officially release for PC on December 12th, and will be exclusive on the Epic Games Store for now. The game first debuted on the PlayStation 4 in April 2018. Players will be controlling three different androids with three different relationships to their human superiors. Each of their stories are shaped according to responses players make during the course of the game.
Blair Witch Coming to the Playstation 4
Bloober Team’s Blair Witch video game will soon be available on the PlayStation 4. The game first released on August 30th, for PC and Xbox One; it’s PlayStation 4 release is set for December 3rd. Its PS4 version will drop with some “gameplay and technical enhancements.” A canine customization pack for Bullet, called the “Good Boy Pack,” will also be available for purchase. This pack contains dog skins, additional in-game mobile games, animations, and wallpapers, and will be available for purchase on all platforms on December 3rd as well.
Modern Warfare Gets Hotfix for Duplicate Killstreaks and More
Infinity Ward has released a new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This update contains a hotfix on some of the game’s progression issues, as well as a fix for duplicate killstreaks. This hotfix also tunes the weapons AUG, 725, as well as Model 680. It also fixes issues on various challenges, while also addressing some Ground War issues.
Nintendo Black Friday Sale to Launch This Week
Nintendo is all geared up for Black Friday and has officially launched its own Black Friday Sale a week earlier than the usual Black Friday schedule for most stores. The sale will start Friday, November 22nd, and will include over 150 titles that you can buy at a discount. The sale will run until December 1st. The full list of discounted games are yet to be unveiled.
Faker Extends Contract with T1
Fans of SK Telecom T1’s Faker have been worried that the team’s Mid Laner has been shopping around for new teams, but the League of Legends Global Contract Database shows otherwise. In the database, it shows that Faker has extended his contract with T1 until 2021. Rumors of Faker planning to join other teams stemmed when T1’s Worlds 2019 run ended in disappointment. Faker has performed well at Worlds, maintaining an overall KDA of 3.76, while dominating on champions Ryze and Tristana.
Rainbow Six Siege Hosts Free Weekend
Ubisoft is hosting another free weekend for Rainbow Six Siege, ahead of the launch of Operation Shifting Tides. The free weekend runs from November 21st until the 24th, and according to the game’s website, players “can access the full game for FREE: including all of the maps, modes and operators.” Shifting Tides Operators will not be part of the free weekend. The Rainbow Six Siege free weekend is available for players on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Kingdom Hearts 3 Demo Available Now
Square Enix has launched a playable demo for Kingdom Hearts 3 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The demo gives players a chance to play through two different story sections: the opening for the introduction for Olympus level, and the first half of the Toy Box level. Progress in the demo can be carried over to the full game should players decide to buy it later.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Nerfs Out Shotgun Again
Another nerf is coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s shotgun! The shotgun can be a pain in the game’s multiplayer because adding the right attachments could make it a powerful sniper shotgun. The weapon had been nerfed before, but the unintended effect had actually buffed up the weapon. The third nerf reduces the base weapon damage, reducing the damage range from the attachments, small hip spread increase, reduced effective damage at the hip. Hopefully, this balances out the gun.
We Happy Few’s Final DLC Now Available
The final DLC for the game We Happy Few called We All Fall Down is now here! This will conclude the game’s saga. Players will get to control Victoria Byng who wants to free the people of Wellington Wells from their addiction to Joy and end their starvation and suffering. In We All Fall Down, the survival mechanics from the main game has been removed and it focuses more on the game’s action. We All Fall Down is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It can be bought separately or as part of the season pass.
Diablo 4 to have Elective Mode
Diablo 4 is bringing back something from Diablo 3, and that is the game’s Elective Mode where players are able to assign the specific uses of buttons. Here specific skills can be assigned to your controller or keyboard. This has been confirmed by lead systems designer David Kim who said, “we will support Elective Mode-style skill selection”, he further adds that “skill selection and assignment will always be completely open for all players”.
Riot Games Bring Back Ranked Matches in Teamfight Tactics
Teamfight Tactics is getting its ranked games back as announced by Riot Games. Riot previously disabled the ranked games because they were fine-tuning the game. However, with the coming patch 9.23, the ranked games are making a comeback. Riot will be hard-resetting everyone’s rank to Iron for the ranked games so that everyone will have a fresh start. The first five games will be the placement matches. What this means is that when you come in at fourth place, it is still considered a win.
Fortnite’s First Season in Chapter 2 is Extended Until February
Epic has announced that they will be extending the first season of Fortnite’s Chapter 2 until February 2020. This will make it the longest season for the game. What this basically means is that there won’t be any big season change before the Christmas events of Fortnite but Epic did promise that they will be keeping players busy. Epic said that the extension is due to the fact that they will be working on new game features, free rewards and live experiences for the new holiday-themed updates.
Broken Lines Set to Launch on February 2020
The upcoming story-driven tactical RPG called Broken Lines was set to launch by the first quarter of 2020. This can be seen on the game’s Steam page. However, on the game’s official website, they were already able to give a much more specific launch which will be by February 2020. The game is set to launch simultaneously on both Steam and GOG. Right now though the game doesn’t show any launch price, but those interested can wishlist it on Steam.
League of Legends New Champion is Aphelios
The 147th champion to be coming to League of Legends is Aphelios. Riot Games was able to share a new story page for the character in the official League of Legends website. It shows that Aphelios is from Targon and that his back story is a tragic one. He is aided by the spirit of his twin sister named Alune who has magical abilities. Alune is able to cast her magic through Aphelios, kind of making him a two-in-one character.
Red Dead Redemption 2 New PC Patch Now Available
Red Dead Redemption 2 was able to get an update for its PC version of the game which is about 2.9GB in size. The update comes with improvements that will address the issue of stalling on 4-core and 6-core CPUs. The patch will also fix numerous issues of crashes in the game as well as the “Red Dead Redemption 2 exited unexpectedly” error. The patch will be resetting your graphics setting, so you would have to manually adjust this. The complete patch notes can be seen on the game’s official site.
Hearthstone Battlegrounds New Update Out Now
A new major update for Hearthstone Battlegrounds has been launched. The update will bring new heroes as well as some changes to the game. The new heroes added to the game are Sindragosa, Sir Finley Mrrgglton, Elise Starseeker, and Brann Bronzebeard. With the addition of these four, it means that four other heroes will be leaving the game. The four that would be leaving are King Mukla, Giantfin, Millificent Manastorm, and Lich Baz’hial.
