OCTOBER 19 PART 1

Red Dead Redemption 2 Pre-Loading Starts October 19th

With Red Dead Redemption 2 launching on October 26th, anticipating gamers will be happy to know that Rockstar Games will be giving us a full week to pre-load the game. That just might be enough to download what the Xbox Store lists as an 88.75-gigabyte title, even if you don’t have the fastest internet connection in the world. Pre-loading starts on October 19th. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be launching on both PS4 and Xbox One, but there’s still no word on the possibility of a PC release.


There Won’t Be Any Big Diablo News at BlizzCon

Found in Blizzard’s website is a statement saying that fans should not expect any huge announcements about Diablo in BlizzCon this coming November. There had been rumors and Blizzard was quick to take those down. They further said that they are working on numerous Diablo projects but won’t talk about them until “the time is right”. Furthermore, a panel called Diablo: What’s Next is being planned, and that is where Blizzard intends to reveal any new Diablo news or even a possible game reveal.


Ubisoft Cancels Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Epic Mercenary Event

Ubisoft has announced that their first Assassin’s Creed Odyssey live event for Ancient Greece has been delayed due to some unspecified technical issues. Recently, players were able to log-in and were able to receive the notification that “Damais the Indifferent” is the first Epic Mercenary target. Players took on the challenge and with their best efforts was still not able to find Damais. The production team is currently investigating the issue and is hoping to have a fix available soon.


Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm Will No Longer Support 32-Bit and DX9

Heroes of the Storm will no longer have support for DirectX 9 and 32-bit operating systems as announced by Blizzard. The decision was made since “the vast majority of players in the Heroes community are now running the 64-bit version of the game, along with DirectX 11”. Also in line with this, back in 2017, Blizzard has already removed the Windows XP and Vista support from their current games. Ditching this could mean that Heroes of the Storm is able to move forward and on to better improvements.


Stanley Parable Achievement Can Finally Be Unlocked After Five Years

Remember The Stanley Parable game that launched on October 17, 2013? Well, if you still have the game and were not able to play it for five years, congratulations, as you have unlocked an achievement. The achievement is aptly called “Go Outside” and the only way to unlock it is to not play the game for five years. The Go Outside Achievement interacts with the themes of the game, seeing Stanley follow the instructions of the narrator throughout the story. Other similar Achievements are also available.


Battlefield 1 Expansions Go Free For a Limited Time

Two Battlefield 1 expansions will be given away for free for a limited time. Those who own Battlefield 1 and don’t own the game’s Season Pass yet can download Apocalypse and Turning Tides for free until October 23rd. This freebie is EA and DICE’s way of “celebrating players” ahead of Battlefield 5’s launch. Players will also earn Battlefield 5 stuff and other cool items by simply playing Battlefield 1. Battlefield 1 will also go on sale at the end of this month, and the Premium Pass will be given away for free.


Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Gets a New Mode

A new mode is coming to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and it is entitled “My Raid Mode”. This new mode will be pitting a raid boss against five players. And what’s great about this is that the raid boss is actually playable. An in-universe item can be utilized and it is called the “Dark Demon Realm Crystal which will allow players to play as Mira, Fused Zamasu or Demigra. A cosmetic will also be available for you when you play it. This will be coming sometime in the winter as a free update for the game.


Battlerite Royale’s Halloween Event Live Now

The Battlerite Royale Halloween event is here and it comes with some trick or treat shrines that look like some jazzed-up pentagons. Players can interact with these just once and they will “gain an unknown effect”. A vampyric potion is also available that will have a 75% life leech for eight seconds. Some themed cosmetics are also available. New private lobbies can also be seen and are able to fit up to forty players plus six observers. You can check the full list of the event on their site.


New Details on The Walking Dead: The Final Season Revealed

Skybound Games hosted a Reddit AMA and shared more details on The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Skybound CEO Ian Howe was at the AMA, and answered some questions about the game. First of all, Howe said there is no definite release date for Episode 3 at this time, citing legal matters as one of the reasons. He added that there’s a possibility for the game to be released later this year. He also said that he has been in contact with former Telltale employees who worked on the game, and are excited to get back to work.


Hearthstone Celebrates Halloween

Hearthstone will not be left out of the Halloween spirit as Blizzard brings Hallow’s End which is a Halloween event for the game starting now up until the 31st of October. This will come with some special spooky unlocks and rewards that are only available for a limited amount of time. There will be two Tavern Brawls, costume party Arena runs, as well as two new single-player experiences that are monster themed. Make sure to log in anytime from now until the 31st to join in on the Halloween event.


Black Ops 4 is on Top of Japan’s Sales Chart

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is dominating sales charts everywhere, as the game is reportedly the best-selling game in Japan last week. Black Ops 4 reportedly sold over 288,000 copies on the PS4 in the region. Super Mario Party ended up in the second spot, with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in third. The amount of copies Black Ops 4 sold is just short of 60,000 copies compared to how much Marvel’s Spider-Man sold in its lifetime.

Vampire Counts Coming to Total War Warhammer 2 for Free

Vampire Counts are coming to Total War Warhammer 2! They will be part of a new content patch which is included in the game’s upcoming Vampire Coast DLC which is launching on November 8th. The two lords are Lokhir Felheart, the Krakenlord of Karond Kar, and the Dark Elf Malus Darkblade. Both of them will be having a rework as well as a bloodlines mechanic. These will be free to those who own the base game.


New Dota 2 Update Discloses Drop Rate for Loot Boxes

The latest update Valve rolled out for Dota 2 brings big changes to the game, specifically on its microtransactions. With the update, players will be able to see the percentage of various drips before they purchase keys to unlock treasure chests. The exact chances of getting loot that is higher in rarity can be seen based on the number of keys you purchase. The more keys you buy, the better chances you get. The update also comes with more features, and you can read all the details on Dota 2’s blog.


Black Ops Pass Shadowskin and Classified Map Revealed

Treyarch is trying to convince those who purchased Call of Duty Black Ops 4 to purchase the Black Ops Pass, which gives players exclusive content that they can get immediately. The company released a couple of new trailers showcasing the Shadowman Skin and the Classified Zombies Map. The Black Ops Pass is available for 49.99 Dollars in the in-game store, and includes most of the game’s DLC.


Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Gets New Patch with Fixes

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey got a new patch on Xbox One and Playstation 4. Patch 1.0.5 is at 0.16 GB on the Playstation 4, and 0.16 GB on the Xbox One. This patch focuses on fixing a lot of bugs as well as brings improvements on stability. It also fixes an issue where the game crashes to the dashboard brought about after update version 1.0.3 was released.


Rogue Sun’s Tin Hearts Heads to Early Access

Rogue Sun, a company made of former Lionhead Studios devs, has announced its first game, Tin Hearts. Tin Hearts is a virtual reality puzzle game which will be launching as an Early Access title in November. It will be available via Steam and the Oculus Store. The game tasks players to guide squads of tin soldiers to safety. It also promises to tell a heartfelt story. The game’s initial build will include just the first Act out of the three Acts planned in the final version.


Kingdom Hearts 3 Brings Sora Back to Olympus and Twilight Town

New Kingdom Hearts 3 screenshots show some familiar locations and characters. This time, we get a look at the original world of Twiling Town from the 2006 game Kingdom Hearts 2. A tweet from the series official account suggests that Sora and his gang will be coming to Twilight Town in order to help Roxas, the protagonist from Kingdom Hearts 2. Screens of Hercules’ world Olympus ware also released, showcasing the land of the gods.


Fortnite’s Floating Island is Acting Strange

Fortnite’s mysterious purple cube has apparently given birth to a floating island that has eventually activated the corrupted areas in the map that were previously printed by the cube. After activating the final rune, the island is now seen to be emitting purple lightning with some purple streaks at the top. At this point, it’s anybody’s guess what this island is up to. Epic Games is yet to announce anything about this.


Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Release in Two Discs

It looks like the steelbook for Red Dead Redemption 2 might contain two discs. Instragram user charlytorre_10 posted what looks like four legit images of a steel book bearing the title of the game, Rockstar Games’ logo, and inside, two overlapping disc trays, although they were empty. The listing for the Ultimate Edition, which is the version that includes the steelbook, does not say that it will include a bonus disc, so this might mean that the full game will be delivered through 2 discs.


The Division 2 will be Playable at PAX Australia

Ubisoft will be bringing The Division 2 to this year’s PAX Aus which will be held in Melbourne next week. Those who will be attending the event can drop by stand number 1620 to try out the game. There will be 48 game stations which will also feature Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and a number of upcoming games. Ubisoft will also be conducting an “in-depth” presentation for The Division 2 during the “Ubisoft Showcase” event which happens on October 26th, Saturday, at 5 PM local time.


Final Fantasy 14’s All Saints’ Wake Event Live Now

Final Fantasy 14 Online is hopping on the Halloween train with its own festivities with the annual All Saints’ Wake event. The event runs from October 19th until November 1st, and during those days, players need to complete a quest in order to earn Halloween themed items. The All Saints’ Wake vendor is also complete with items such as ghost minions Little Yin and Little Yang, house items, and more. A seasonal quest called The Sinister Soiree is also available from the Adventurers’ Guild Investigator.


Rocket League’s Limited-Time Halloween Event Returns

From now until November 5th, Rocket League is bringing back the Haunted Hallows limited-time event. Players will be able to earn the Candy Corn currency which can be used to redeem Halloween-themed decals, toppers, wheels and other cosmetic items. There’s also the Golden Pumpkin which can unlock a random battle car customization from the Turbo, Nitro or Player’s Choice crates. If you still have left over Candy Corn after the event, you’ll have until November 8th to use them.
