Details on Mortal Kombat 11’s New Story Mode Revealed

Details for the story mode of Mortal Kombat 11 were revealed during the game’s recent reveal event hosted by NetherRealms. A story prologue trailer showed a more sinister version of Raiden who decapitates Shinnok’s head and takes off to assume a more offensive role in guarding the Earthrealm. Kronika, the series’ first female boss, is then shown. She’ll be using her powers of time manipulation to try and restore balance to the universe which Raiden upset with his recent actions.


Latest Anthem Gameplay Features Puzzles, Underwater Exploration, and New enemies

IGN has shared new gameplay footage of Anthem, giving us a peek at the Hidden Depths. Here we see some underwater exploration with the Javelins directed to their destination by waypoints. We also see the players taking on a puzzle that they need to solve as a group in order to progress. Throughout the mission, we see the players take on bug-themed creatures, but we also see a new type of enemy in the final battle — what appears to be a gigantic earthen golem that dishes out fiery attacks.


GT Sport Update Brings Back Track from GT5 and GT6

Gran Turismo Sport just got a new free update that adds eight new cars to the mix. The update also brings back the Special Stage Route X track which first came out as DLC for Gran Turismo 5 and also became a part of Gran Turismo 6. The new cars added are the 1953 Aston Martin DB3S, the 1956 Porsche 356 Speedster, the 1965 Shelby G.T.450, the 1971 Ferrari Dino 246 GT, the 1998 Honda Integra Type R, the 2000 TVR Tuscan Speed 6, the 2001 BMW Z8, and the 2007 Nissan Fairlady Z Version S.


Mortal Kombat 11 Has New Character Customization Options

Character customization options are coming to Mortal Kombat 11 with equippable cosmetic pieces that not only changes how the characters look, but also has augment sockets. Nothing has been announced, but these sockets may take items that enhance the character’s stats or moves. There’s also an Abilities tab that lets players select ability sets, which may likely allow players to choose movesets from past incarnations of the character they’re playing as.


The Division 2’s Dark Zone Detailed in Latest Trailer

A new trailer for The Division 2 has revealed that the sequel will have three distinct versions of the original’s Dark Zone. Each one will be located in a different part of Washington DC and will feature their own set of narratives. Players can now go rogue by simply breaking into locked chests or stealing DZ drops. Going rogue will give players access to a special vendor who not only sells tempting items, but can also clear you of your rogue status. Clean loot can also drop in Dark Zones.


Action-Adventure Game Fimbul Release Date Revealed

Zaxis has revealed the release date of their new action-adventure game, Fimbu, and posted a celebratory trailer for the game. The game will be launching on February 28th. The trailer showed clips of the protagonist Elder berserker Kveldulver battling several types of enemies using different combinations on beautifully designed playgrounds. The game has emphasis on combat, and players’ decisions will affect the outcome of the game’s story. Get ready to destroy the Jotun giants and avert the apocalypse next month when the game releases.


Endless Space 2 and Endless Legend are Getting New Expansions This Month

Amplitude Studios is doing it big this year as two of their titles, Endless Space 2 and Endless Legend, are receiving new expansions. Endless Space’s expansion Symbiosis, brings colossal beasts and a new faction known as the Mykara into the game. Endless Legend will get the Penumbra expansion which adds a new community-created Umbral Choir faction, a new hacking feature, and invisibility modules for fleets. Both titles will receive their respective expansions on January 24, 2019.


Treyarch Releases Another Black Ops 4 Update Just Days After the Previous One

Treyarch’s update train persists as just days after Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 received its 1.11 update, the developers release another. The new patch features a completely new game mode named Down But Not Out. In the new mode teams can have up to four players and if at least one teammate is alive when the safety circle resets, all the players can re-spawn. Therefore victory is only assured if a squad is completely wiped out. However, the bulk of the patch notes were pertaining to bug fixes.


Fortnite Had Highest Annual Revenue in 2018

Epic’s Fortnite has been dominant since spawning into the gaming world so it is to no surprise that it received the highest annual revenue of any game of all time. Fortnite is currently the most popular game in the world having over 200 million players. According to a recent Superdata report, Fortnite received a total of $2.4 billion last year which is $900 million more than its closest competitor. Epic has since launched their own storefront, which currently competes with Steam over major releases.


Xenon Racer Launches This March

March 26, 2019 marks the day Xenon Racer will be released on PC. This became known when SOEDESCO announced the release date, and shared screenshots and a gameplay trailer. The trailer displays the seven different racing locations in the game, including four new tracks in North-America, France and China. The developers are inviting all Xenon racers to explore the many locations available. Each location offers numerous racing opportunities, with a variety of tracks that can be raced in both directions.


Total War Three Kingdoms Gives Overview on Spies in New Trailer

Creative Assembly released a video for their new strategy, turn-based game, TOTAL WAR: THREE KINGDOMS. The video features very detailed gameplay with heavy spy involvement and influence. The Devs are challenging you to master the new spy mechanics then apply them to deceive and disrupt your way to power. Sneak behind enemy lines to poison, assassinate, and even incite war. Prove you have what it takes to reliably deceive your opponents or face certain death by execution for your failed treachery.


They Are Billions’ 2019 Plans Laid Out

Numantian Games will be releasing They Are Billions later than expected. As they outlined their 2019 plans, the developers spoke about having a very successful early access launch. It has uncovered some flaws as well as broadened the scope for the campaign. The Devs promise to persist making improvements and expansions to their level editor. They also divulged that two new maps will be added to the Survival Mode. The campaign is taking longer than expected to complete but it will be worth the wait.


Boruto, Kaguya, Gaara, and Kakashi Join Jump Force’s Roster

Naruto and Boruto characters, Boruto, Kaguya, Gaara, and Kakashi will be joining Bandai Namco’s new brawler, Jump Force. This news was seen in some leaked screenshots of the March 2019 issue of VJump magazine. Anime fans are excited as they now look forward to playing as some of their favorite anime characters. Jump Force is scheduled for launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 15, 2019.


Bungie Assures Fans Their Main Focus is Still Destiny

Amidst all the chaos and turmoil brought about by Bungie’s split with Activision, Destiny director Luke Smith wants to reassure fans that Destiny 2 remains as the main focus at Bungie. At this time, their team is reevaluating what their independence means for the franchise and they see a bright future. Smith also discussed what’s in store for the game in the future in his blog post over at Bungie’s site, which includes an update focused on tweaking and balancing weapon archetypes coming on January 29th.


Atlas Server Spawns Tanks and Planes After Admin Account Gets Compromised

Grapeshot Games didn’t have any choice but to temporarily shut down its nautical MMO Atlas’ servers when World War II tanks and planes, and even a huge number of whales, began spawning in the game out of the blue. In an official announcement in the game’s website, Atlas lead community manager and live producer, Jatheish Karunakaran said that an admin’s Steam account has been compromised and caused “some devastation” in the NA servers. The game’s servers have since been rolled back which thankfully fixed the weird glitch.


EA Reveals FIFA 19’s Ultimate Team Future Stars

EA has revealed the 21 players that are part of FIFA 19’s Ultimate Team Future Stars. These players are likely to become superstars, and in anticipation of their rise to stardom, EA has given their Ultimate Team cards a stat boost. This lineup consists of players all over the globe, each of them are 23 years-old and younger. They will be part of a Future Stars pack which EA plans to release for a limited time sometime in the near future. Overkill’s The Walking Dead Console Release Postponed

Starbreeze has announced that the console versions of Overkill’s The Walking Dead won’t be releasing in February as previously intended. The devs are evaluating and reviewing the game’s performance on consoles and it looks like they’ll need more time to polish and optimize. The game has already suffered multiple delays, with the PC version getting pushed back a number of times from its 2016 release date until it finally launched in November 2018. No new release date for consoles has been announced.


Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary Edition Coming to Switch This Spring

Arc System Works has teamed up with PQube for Guilty Gear’s 20th Anniversary Edition. This edition is headed to the Nintendo Switch in Spring 2019. The Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary Edition is a bundle that includes the original released in 1998 plus Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R. Both games, though, can be bought separately, if you prefer just one of them.


Epic Announces Special Fortnite Invitational Competition

A special Fortnite invitational competition will be happening next month. Epic Games says the event will be held on February 14th and 15th and can be viewed live online through official channels. What’s strange is that even though it’s less than a month away, Epic did not announce where it will be taking place. The devs joked that the competition will allow their broadcast team to better prepare for the Fortnite World Cup and promised the same exciting matches as seen on TwitchCon and PAX.


Diablo 3’s Season 16 Live Now

Diablo 3 has just launched its sixteenth season and is now live for players on PC, Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Switch. A new item called “The Ring of Royal Grandeur” comes out with the new season and will benefit all classes as it reduces the number of items required to gain set bonuses by 1. New cosmetic pieces are also up for grabs, such as the Conqueror Set, The Wings of Lempo, and some new portrait frames. Seven new equipment sets have also been added, each one for a different class.


Changes in Destiny 2’s Black Armory Outlined

Destiny 2’s Black Armory is getting changes later this month. Update 2.1.4 arrives January 29th, and players can expect changes to Black Armory based on their feedback. First of all, Ballistics Logs will now have its Stack Limit increased to five per character and won’t be removed at reset. Weapon frames will also now be refunded into logs or reports when they’re carried across reset. The update will also come with fixes to issues.
