Battlerite Royale Beta Sign-ups Open Now
Battlerite’s standalone battle royale game, Battlerite Royale, has announced the game’s closed beta, and if you’re interested to join, they’re accepting sign-ups now. Interested participants can sign up for the closed beta in the Battlerite website. Battlerite Royale pits players in fast-paced matches in the lush and colorful Talon Island. As with any battle royale games, players must find loot, fight other players, and be the last player standing. Battlerite Royale releases on Early Access next month.
Metro Exodus Now Available for Pre-order
The next installment in the Metro series is scheduled for release February next year, and it is now available for pre-order in both its digital and physical versions. Players who decide to pre-order the game will get exclusive bonuses. Players who pre-order any of the game’s versions on PC or Steam will receive a digital art book as well as the Metro Exodus OST. Xbox One pre-orders will include a copy of Metro 2033 Redux, and on PS4 a stunning Dynamic Theme based on the Metro Exodus ‘Winter’ artwork.
NBA 2K19 MyTEAM Update Announced
NBA 2K19 gets an update for MyTEAM. The devs are looking at MyTEAM and are dissecting it closely to see how they are able to improve it and have a completely new MyTEAM feature for NBA 2K19. There will be the MyTEAM Unlimited, 3-on-3, the triple threat as well as the triple threat online. The devs are focused on a new vision for MyTEAM which they plan to establish a new philosophy, a new look as well as a new feel. Marvel’s Spider-Man Showcases Open World New York
A new trailer for the PS4-exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man was released, and it highlights the open world of New York City. The game’s expansive open world allows players to take on all sorts of activities, including research. Players can also unlock Peter Parker’s old backpacks full of memorabilia. Players can also just be of help to the people of New York, and help them out when in need. Marvel’s Spider-Man will be released on September 7th.
New Video Shows Lara’s Weaponry
Square Enix and Eidos Montreal shared a new video trailer featuring Lara’s weapons for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The video is short at just 30 seconds but it gives us a look at Lara’s arsenal which includes her iconic bow and an assortment of guns like her ever-reliable pistol, the uzi as well as a powerful assault rifle. The trailer is brutal and more violent as compared to other Tomb Raider games which kind of points out that this is Lara’s darkest adventure so far and seems to be the most savage.
Vestaria Saga Coming to Steam
Vestaria Saga by Dangen Entertainment is coming to Steam and it is in English. If you know about Shouzou Kaga and his work with the Fire Emblem series, you will surely enjoy the game. It tells a story about a powerful empire which is in conflict with a small coastal kingdom. The game’s music is handled by Hiroto Saitoh who is known for his work on classic games like Super Schwarzschild and Power Dolls. A demo is available right now to be downloaded and the game’s official release is in 2019.
Shenmue 1 and 2 Trailer Shows Combat and Minigames
A new trailer for Shenmue 1 and 2 has been released, and this time it focuses on combat and minigames. The trailer explains how the game earned combat moves from the series Virtua Fighter. It also mentioned how saves can be transferred from Shenmue 1 to Shenmue 2 and preserve the abilities Ryu earned. As for the minigames, Shenmue 1 and 2 includes classic arcade games like the iconic forklift racing. Shenmue 1 and 2 will be released August 21st for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Konami Announces Gamescom Activities
Konami will be at Gamescom 2018 which will be held in Cologne, Germany this coming August 21st to the 25th. They will have a dedicated Yu-Gi-Oh! booth located at hall 5.2/E039. Activities to be enjoyed in their booth are TCG tournaments, and people are encouraged to bring their decks and compete. There are demos, duels, and trades, a chance to duel with the master, the duel links tower, a photo box where your photo is printed as a Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG card, and of course, a card shop is also available to power up your deck.
Catland Announces Stealth Game The Spy Who Shrunk Me
Finnish game developer Catland has announced their newest game, The spy Who shrunk Me. This is the company’s second game, and is the first one that will be released to both PC and VR. The Spy Who Shrunk me is an exciting stealth game that lets players take on the role of super agent Audrey Smoothspy. She is armed with a shrink ray and other exotic and unusual spy gadgets. The game is slated for a 2018 release on Steam and it includes both PC and VR versions for the same price.
AI Coaches Overwatch Players In-Game
Typically, an Overwatch match is fast-paced and hectic, and sometimes it is hard to know what is the best course of action to take. Luckily a new AI analytics service is available called Visor and it can analyze data in real time and provide tips to improve your game. Visor can examine 150,000 data points in order to figure out what is happening, it includes kill feed, ultimate charge, health, ability meters and so on. It will then offer tips for your improvement. The service is now in open beta.
The Call of Duty World League Championship Has Begun
The Call of Duty World League Championship has begun, and the finals is slated to happen on August 17th! Presented by Playstation 4, the event is held at the MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Two teams who will be lucky to move on to the finals will be battling it out in Call of Duty world War II. Those who want to see all the action in the comforts of their own home can watch the livestream on MLG.com/CallofDuty, Twitch.tv/CallofDuty and on the Theater within Call of Duty: WWII if you’re using the Playstation 4.

Tropico 6 Release Delayed to 2019
Bad news for those excited for El Presidente’s return — Tropico 6 has been delayed to 2019. The PC release has been postponed to January, while the game won’t release on consoles until the summer of that year. Kalypso Media says they’ll be using the extra time to make sure the game delivers the most complete and balanced experience ever in the series. They’ve also revealed that there will be a Steam beta later this autumn. The game will also make an appearance at this year’s Gamescom where fans will be able to sample its gameplay.
Doom Eternal May Not Get Mods
Although the original Doom was the recipient to many excellent mods and custom maps, that hasn’t been the case for the more recent titles, including the 2016 reboot. Unfortunately, executive producer Mart Stratton has also revealed that they can’t guarantee that Doom Eternal will support mods. He says technical decisions made in the past, going back as far as Doom 3 and Rage, have moved them away from giving people the ability to do mods. He did say however that they are trying to get back to where they can do that.
Vermintide 2 Shadows Over Bogenhafen DLC Announced
Fatshark CEO Martin Wahlund has revealed that they’ll be kicking off the fall with brand new content for Warhammer Vermintide 2. A new DLC dubbed Shadows Over Bogenhafen will be releasing on August 28th for PC and Xbox One. He says that the DLC will be taking players to the titular city of Bogenhafen where they’ll be facing the “unpleasant attentions” of Grandfather Nurgle. The actual contents of the DLC will be revealed as the release date draws closer so expect more details soon.
Dragon Quest 11 Pre-order DLCs Revealed
It looks like you’ll have to think hard of where you’ll want to pre-order Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age as it’s now confirmed that different vendors will each offer different pre-order bonuses. GameStop will be giving out the Elevating Vest DLC, 3x Seeds of Skill DLC, and Exclusive Collectible Buttons. Alternatively, Amazon offers the Arriveste’s Vest DLC and 3x Seeds of Skill DLC. Lastly, a Steam pre-order will come with Winds of Serendipity, an exclusive wallpaper set, and 15x Seed of Skill.
Generation Zero Gameplay Revealed
From the makers of Just Cause comes a new sci-fi shooter that can be played alone or with up to three other friends in co-op. A new trailer was released by Avalanche to introduce the game which is called Generation Zero. It is set in the 1980’s in the countryside of Sweden where everybody except you and your friends are the only ones left and are pursued by alien machines. It mostly offers some guerrilla tactics and crafting. The game is still in development available in 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The Quiet Man Reveals Eerie Storyline in New Trailer
Square Enix’s new game, The Quiet Man, was first introduced during this year’s E3, and only little details were revealed about it. This time, more details, although not a lot, have been shared with a trailer released by the publisher. It shows off some of the game’s combat and a really eerie storyline. You will get to see a voodoo doll, a hooded masked figure, as well as a bird bound in ribbon – very ominous! The cinematic quality, though, is absolutely stunning. No release date has been shared yet.
Battle Royale Announced for Skyforge
Sci-fi fantasy game Skyforge is hopping on to the battle royale wagon, as My.com announced that the game will launch a free battle royale mode. Skyforge Battle Royale will launch on August 28th on PC, August 29th on the Playstation 4, and August 30th on Xbox One. The battle royale mode will feature more than 12 new unique heroes that each have their own unique skill sets, hunting players and monsters, and loot. You need to own a copy of the base game in order for you to get battle royale.
PUBG Patch 20 Out Now on Test Server
The PUBG Patch 20 update can now be experienced in the game’s test servers. This adds new content as well as some fixes and improvements to the quality of life. A new assault rifle has also0 been introduced: the Beryl M762 which has a 30 bullet magazine and can be extended to 40. Also, a new vehicle has been added to the Sanhok map which is a scooter – a two-seater Vespa. Changes to third-person aiming can also be seen. You can check the full patch notes on their site. No release date was given for the live servers yet.
Spies Can Start Civil Wars in Total War: Three Kingdoms
Spies are back in Total War: Three Kingdoms, and they’re no longer the solitary agents we once knew. This time around, spies are really getting into the action, as they can start a civil war! You can send out a spy into hostile territory, and have your enemy faction recruit him into a general. They will pledge their loyalty to the enemy faction by winning them wars and such until you’re ready for him to betray them. You can get to know more about this and more during Gamescom.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is the New Sniper Ghost Warrior Game
It looks like CI Games will be taking a step back for the next entry in their Sniper Ghost Warrior series. Although the last game went open world, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is set to bring back the mission-based structure of earlier titles. The game will be set in the Siberian wilderness whose environment plays a big role on how players will tackle each mission. Players will also be able to approach missions however they like and will be able replay all missions to try out different routes.
Halo: Infinite is Halo 6, According to Microsoft
Microsoft finally made good on their long-time plans of moving away from numbered Halo games when they announced that the next entry in the series is called Halo: Infinite. Just in case the title has confused you though, Jeff Easterling from 343 Studios has confirmed that the upcoming game is in fact the next chapter and not a prequel or side story. Studio head Chris Lee has also confirmed this by saying that the game is the direct sequel to 2015’s Halo 5: Guardians and will focus more of Master Chief.
