To the Moon Arriving on Switch in January

XD Network announced at the Tokyo Game Show that To the Moon will soon be available on the Nintendo Switch. The Switch version will be launching on January 16, 2020. It will feature completely remade visuals, and its content is exactly the same as the one for PC. XD Network announced back in March that they are remaking the game in Unity for PC, and also as preparation for a Switch version. It was originally planned for release this year.


Yo-Kai Watch 4 Coming to PS4

Nintendo Switch-exclusive game Yo-Kai Watch 4 will also be available on the PS4, Level 5 announced during this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The game first released in June 2019 in Japan for the Switch, and Level 5 also announced that it will also be heading west, but did not specify a release date. The Switch version, though, did not fare well in terms of sales when it launched in Japan.


Days Gone’s New Game Plus Available Now

Sony Bend has added a New Game Plus mode to Days Gone. New Game Plus allows players to start the game again with almost everything unlocked in the first playthrough. These include bike upgrades, encampment trust, collectibles, and more. Also rolled out with New Game Plus is an update which brings the Hard II and Survival II difficulty modes.


Cyberpunk 2077 to Feature Four Quest Types

CD Projekt Red Quest Design Coordinator Philipp Weber revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will feature four types of quests: main quests, side quests, street stories, and minor quests. He also revealed that the game won’t be using a lot of fetch quests, and that fetch quests in Cyberpunk 2077 will be a lot better than players encounter in other games. Weber also added that the game will feature more nonlinear quests, and that players will have more ways to gather information in the game.


Conarium Free on Epic Games

The latest free game on the Epic Games Store is the Lovecraftian game Conarium. You have until September 19th to download the game for free, after which it will be replaced by an undisclosed Batman game. Conarium will have players take the role of Frank Gilman who lost his memories and finds himself in an Antarctic base in the South Pole. Aside from exploring the deserted base, players will also be having visions and dreams and will also study clues to unlock secrets of the base.


Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Ember Rise Available Now for Year 4 Pass

Rainbow Six Siege’s Season 3 Year 4 has officially started with Operation Ember Rise for players who own the Year 4 Season Pass. This brings two new Operators for Year 4 Season Pass holders, while the rest of the players will be able to unlock them with Renown or R6 Credits on September 18th. The two new Operators are Amaru from Peru and Goyo from Mexico. The Kanal map has also been reworked. Full details on Season 3 Year 4 are up at the Rainbow Six Siege website.


Overcooked! 2 Carnival of Chaos DLC Out Now

Overcooked ! 2’s third and final DLC for its Season Pass has finally arrived. The DLC is called Carnival of Chaos and it brings 15 circus-themed levels, as well as recipes such as hotdogs, donuts, and combo meals. The DLC also brings new chefs and even cannons to the game. The Carnival of Chaos DLC is available for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.


Mutazione Announced for PC and PS4

Narrative-driven adventure game Mutazione will be launching for PC and PS4, Die Gute Fabrik and Akupara Games have announced. The game will be available on the mentioned platforms starting September 19th. Mutazione features the main character Kai, a 15-year-old girl who’s on a journey to an isolated community called Mutazione to take care of her ailing grandfather, Nonno. The game centers around community and how people live together.


Discord to Remove Free Games for Nitro Subscribers

Discord has announced that it will stop offering free games to Nitro subscribers starting October 15th. According to a blog post, majority of Nitro subscribers did not play these games, so once their contract ends, they “won’t be hitting Continue when these contracts come up for renewal.” Nitro users will still have access to these free games until October 15th, and those who already own these games will still be able to play them as usual.


DC Universe Online’s Metal Part 1 Episode Available Now

Episode 35: Metal Part I, the first of two Episodes based on DC’s Dark Nights: Metal comic book series, has launched for Dc Universe Online. Metal Part 1 is described as a “large-scale episode” and its events are available for players level 15 and up for a limited time. It features new and returning Super Heroes and Super-Villains, including The Red Death, The Merciless, and The Batman Who Laughs. It also features adventures for single-player and multiplayer, as well as new player rewards.


Chernobylite Starts Early Access Run in October

Sci-fi survival game Chernobylite is set to hit Steam Early Access on October 16th. The game is set in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, and players will take the role of a man who’s out to find his girlfriend who went missing 30 years before the disaster. He later finds out he can communicate with her through another dimension. Players will also be able to work with other “stalkers,” but would have to think twice before putting their trust completely on them.


Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s ‘Classic’ Mode Brings Combat Closer to Original

Final Fantasy 7 Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase took the time during the Tokyo Game Show 2019 to demonstrate a built-in Classic mode for the game. This will appeal to players looking for more traditional turn-based battles as it will automate standard attacks while the ATB fills up automatically. This means players will only need to worry about executing commands. Although it’s definitely not the standard turn-based battles fans are used to, Classic mode aims to bring the combat closer to how it was in the original.


Another World and Flashback Bundle Coming to Modern Consoles

French developer Microids has announced that they’ll be bringing back two classic Delphine Software titles bundled up for modern consoles. Another World was first released in 1991 and takes players to a parallel universe where they’ll need to find a way back home. Flashback pits players against an invading alien race after waking up with no memories and just a mysterious holocube message and a handgun. The bundle will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the Switch on November 21st.


NHL 20 Features a Battle Royale Mode

NHL 20 will feature a battle royale mode called Eliminator. So how does battle royale fit into a hockey game? Well, players either go in solo or a squad of three. They then try to survive four consecutive rounds in a bracket to win the tournament. Although it’s not a hundred hockey players hacking away at each other on an island, the mode is meant to capture the challenge and intensity of the battle royale games it takes inspiration from.


Actual Underlords are Coming to Dota Underlords

Valve has announced that a big update is coming to Dota Underlords in the first half of October. Players have noticed that updated for the auto-battler spin-off had slowed down and Valve has cited the impending update as the reason. “The Big Update” will be bringing a Duos team mode, six new heroes, three new Alliances, an updater UI, and a couple of playable Underlords. Ironically, this is the first time something called an ‘Underlord’ will be coming to the game so players don’t really know what it will be.


Summons Work Differently in Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Final Fantasy 7 Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase gave fans a taste of the game’s summoning system during his presentation at the Tokyo Game Show 2019. Summons remain in combat until the summon gauge is depleted. While summoned, Cloud was able to spend his ATB bar to have Ifrit use moves such as Flame Burts and Crimson Dive. Once the summon gauge expires, the summon will perform a powerful attack before vanishing. Kitase also hinted that summoning will only be possible when battling “strong enemies and bosses”.


Humorous ARPG Zenith Coming to Switch

Bad Land Publishing has announced that they’ll be bringing Zenith to the Nintendo Switch. Zenith is an action-RPG developed by Infinigon and inspired by and meant to make fun of the golden era of RPGs and ARPGs. Players take on the role of Argus, a scholar that’s both well-versed in combat magic and very agile on the battlefield. The game features a humorous storyline and rarely takes itself seriously. No Switch release date was announced.


Gears 5 Overthrows Fortnite on Xbox Release

Gears 5 launched as a multi-platform game, coming to pc as well as on the Xbox One at the same time. The success of the game during its launch is not really easy to tell since it is different for both platforms. For the PC version via Steam, the game only peaked at 10,196 players on September 11th. If you compare these numbers to other launch releases of other major games, it is quite small. The game, on the other hand, was able to overthrow Fortnite on the Xbox’s “most played games, but no numbers were given.


A Plague Tale: Innocence Demo Now Live

The free demo of A Plague Tale: Innocence is now available as announced by Focus Home Interactive. This announcement came with the Free Trial trailer as well. A Plague Tale: Innocence is a mix of adventure, puzzle-solving, combat, and stealth. You get to play as Amicia De Rune, protecting her younger brother, Hugo, from the ruthless men of the Inquisition as well as the swarms of rats that are carrying a deadly disease. The game is available at a 33% off discount until September 16th at Steam.


Crossout 0.10.80 Update is Out Now

Crossout gets a new update and it adds the final Horseman of the Apocalypse called the Pestilence, a Chemical plant map with the mission called ‘Experiment’, a new competition among engineers and new brawls in ‘Custom Battle’. The new PvP map offers industrial buildings with chemical tanks, rusty pipes and the remnants of a wrecked artillery strike. There will be three key points to cover which are the railway station, the chemical workshop as well as the epicenter of the caravan explosion.


Cat Quest 2 New Features Announced

New features had been added to the game Cat Quest 2 as announced by PQube and Gentlebros. The new features include a new kingdom to explore called Throne of Lupus, a new Multiplayer where you get to partner up with a friend with a great combination of weapons to equip. There will also be additional spells and weapon types as well as new companions old and new. This new update will be available for PC via Steam by September 24th and for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch by Autumn of 2019.

Star Wars Pinball is now available on the Nintendo Switch! Surely fans of the franchise will enjoy playing the game. The collection includes 19 themed tables.
