Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Battle Royale Beta Announced
Activision and Treyarch have announced that the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Battle Royale beta is set to happen next month! Blackout will be playable for the first time on September 10th in a limited beta which will be available to Playstation 4 players first. Both Activision and Treyarch are yet to announce the beta dates for PC and Xbox One players. A teaser on Twitter implies that the beta will let players play solo, duo, or as part of a squad.
Deathgarden is Free for a Week
Deathgarden is now on Early Access on Steam! To celebrate its release, Behaviour Digital announced that the game will be free-to-play for a week on Steam. The game is similar to Dead By Daylight which was also made by the same developers. It is a 5 versus 1 asymmetrical multiplayer game where 5 players form a team of ninjas armed with bows, and the other 1 will play as a military man armed with guns. The 5 hunted players must escape the map before the hunter kills them.
Rainbow Six Siege Reveals Grim Sky’s Attacker
Rainbow Six Siege’s Grim Sky is yet to be fully revealed, but up on Reddit are some interesting information on some upcoming content. One of those dug up is the name of the new Attacker, which was found from the tags from the new Clash video. Embedded within the keywords is the phrase “new operator maverick” and another Redditor has noted a url from the Ubisoft website which has “maverickreveal” in it. The Six Major is happening this weekend in Paris, so we are expecting to get more information on this soon.
My Memory of Us Release Date Announced
Puzzle-based side-scrolling game My Memory of Us gets a release date. The game, which features the voice of legendary actor Patrick Stewart, launches October 9th on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. The game tells the story of two young friends as they fight fr survival, as well as their friendship, during a war. The game features beautiful sketch-like graphics, as well as a dialogue system that are built using symbolic pictures.
Lunacy: Saint Rhodes Announced
A new first-person survival game called Lunacy: Saint Rhodes has been revealed through an announcement trailer. The game is about a man who is seeking out the truth about his family’s murder. In order to do this, you must go back to where it all began, the man’s home in Saint Rhodes. While doing this an advanced AI named The Author will be observing you and will change the course of the game depending on the actions you take. Lunacy: Saint Rhodes will be available for PC in 2019.
Latest Fallout 76 Trailer Shows How Players Can Make Friends
Bethesda Game Studios released a new trailer for Fallout 76 and it is all about making friends. The video is called “Let’s Work with Others! Multiplayer Video.” It features the loveable Vault Boy emerging out of the newly opened Vault 76 and trying to make friends with others. No actual gameplay can be seen in the video trailer, just the ususal funny Vault-Tec style animation. Bethesda’s Fallout 76 is set to officially launch on November 14th available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Overcooked 2 is Getting a New Game+ Mode Soon
Overcooked 2 was released last week, and Ghost Town Games as well asTeam17 have announced that the first ever major content update will be happening very soon. The update will include a New Game Plus mode and it will allow you to play all 45 levels with the aim of finishing it with 4 stars. That one additional star can prove that you have mastered all the levels in the game. Overcooked 2 is now already available and can be played on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Strange Brigade Shows Off New Gameplay
Publisher and developer Rebellion Entertainment’s Strange Brigade is releasing in two weeks and a brand new game trailer has been shared with us. The trailer shows some never-before-seen footage of the game and is quite lengthy, clocking in at about six minutes long. It shows an overview of the game’s campaign, story, weapons, traps, puzzles, enemies, characters and so much more. Strange Brigade is set to launch on August 28th and can be played on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
PUBG Has a Jungle-Themed Crate for Twitch Prime Members
Good news Twitch Prime Members as the third set of exclusive PUBG crates will be available to you by the end of the week. Your exclusive crate is called the Jungle Crate and has a Jungle theme. It will include two full outfits that will of course make you look like you will go hunting in the jungle. Two weapon skins are also included which are the Croc Bite for the M16A4 and the Bengal Blade for the SCAR-L. All of these Jungle themed items will be available to all Twitch Prime Members starting August 17.
Rune Closed Beta Happening This Weekend
The sandbox, open-world, role-playing game that is set in the Norse universe called Rune will be having a closed beta this August the 18th, which is a Saturday, starting 1:00 PM EDT up until 5:00 PM EDT. Servers that are available will only be for the US and Europe. This closed beta is available to those who were able to sign up through the game’s official site. After this, we will be able to see the game on Steam’s Early Access on September. We will know more about Rune’s development in the following weeks.
Focus Home Interactive’s Gamescom Lineup Revealed
Gamescom runs from August 21 to August 25 in Cologne, Germany, and French publisher Focus Home Interactive has revealed their lineup of games which will be featured during the event. The games are: Call of Cthulhu, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, Fear the Wolves, and Space Hulk: Tactics. They will also be showing more gameplay from The Surge 2 during a developer presentation that will be attended by journalists.

James Bond Cars May Be Coming to Forza Horizon 4
It appears like cars from famous James Bond movies are heading to Forza Horizon 4. An eagle-eyed long-time Forza leaker named ‘TheAdmiester’ released a post on Reddit and leaked a long list if cars available in the game. Among the cars on the list are Aston Martins. Also included are Lotus Esprit from “The Spy Who Loves Me,” the BMW Z8 from “The World Is Not Enough”, and the Citroen 2CV from “For Your Eyes Only.” We’ll have to wait until Gamescom to see if the rumor is true.
Counter-Strike Global Offensive Brings Back the MP5
A new update from Valve is adding the MP5 to the arsenal of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The submachine gun had been a part of every Counter-Strike game and this is the very first time that it is made available in CS: GO. The CS: GO version is called the MP5-SD and it comes with an integrated silencer. According to the Counter-Strike blog, it “features a higher movement speed at the cost of some damage and accuracy on the move.” Valve added this new submachine gun as an alternative to the MP7.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Was Not Made to Appeal to Certain Types of Players
From Software’s newest project, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was revealed during E3 2018. There was some apprehension that From’s partnership with Activision will dumb down the game to make it appeal to everybody. Sekiro director, Hidetaka Miyazaki made it clear that they will not compromise their vision to appeal to a particular player saying, “We’re not consciously trying to make a game that’s oriented towards a certain subset of users…we’re making games for people that love games.”
Diablo 3 Coming to the Nintendo Switch Later This Year
The rumors are true! Diablo 3 is indeed coming to the Nintendo Switch, and it is coming this year! The news was accidentally revealed by Forbes through an online article that has since been deleted. The Switch version of Diablo 3 will include the original game, the Reaper of Souls DLC, the Rise of the Necromancer Pack, and all the game’s updates. Players will also receive an armor set that will make them look like The Legend of Zelda’s Ganondorf. The Switch version will also include multiplayer support.
Two Fortnite Limited-Time Modes Available Now
Two new limited-time modes are now available for Fortnite which are: Soaring 50’s and Sniper Shootout. Soaring 50’s will give an extra emphasis on mobility to the 50 versus 50 mode which gives players more chances of coming across Launch Pads, Boost Pads and Impulse Grenades. Sniper Shootout, on the other hand, is a returning mode that will give sniper rifles only as weapons to its players with the Scoped Assault rifle changed to the Heavy Sniper and a spawn rate of floor loot reduced by 50%.
Gamescom 2018 Award Nominees Revealed
Gamescom 2018 is set to take place on August 21st until the 25th, and as early as now, the nominees for Gamescom 2018 Awards have been named. There are a total of 16 awards to be given, and 31 games nominated. Among those nominated are Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition. These three were nominated in different multiple awards categories. The winners of each award will be determined by a panel consisting of journalists and YouTubers, and will be announced August 21st.
NBA eSports League 2019 Adds 4 Teams
Four new teams have signed up for the NBA 2K League’s second season and they are the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, LA Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves. This brings the total count of the teams to twenty-one. We will still have to wait for the draft to see who will play in each team but surely it will be chosen from a pool of qualifying players. The addition of the four teams does show that there is also a demand for watching virtual basketball in the esports initiative.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider New Game+ Gives Players Unique Skills
Shadow of the Tomb Raider has a New Game+ mode which challenges players to take on the game another time. The New Game+ mode will also let players carry over all the skills and gear they acquired from the first playthrough, and what’s cool is that you’ll get unique new skills which you can only get in New Game+. The skills are called The Serpent Path for stealth, The Jaguar Path for combat, and The Eagle Path for exploration. Shadow of the Tomb Raider releases September 14th.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episodes’ Release Dates Revealed
For the first time ever, Telltale shared the full episodic release dates for The Walking Dead: The Final Season. From the August 14 launch of Done Running, the following episode will be on September 25 which is called Suffer the Children. The third episode, Broken Toys, will be released on November 6, and the fourth and final episode will be released on December 18, called Take Us Back. There is a disclaimer though saying that the dates are subject to change, but knowing what to expect is good enough.
Witch Thief is Coming to PC Soon
3D bullet hell shooter Witch Thief is set to be released on PC this year. Players take on the role of a sorceress who sets out on a journey to complete her quest of stealing an enchanted grimoire. Players can also unlock three more equally feisty and playable heroines, each one with different powers, and different personal stories and reasons for wanting to steal the enchanted grimoire. Five distinct zones ranging from magnificent cathedral vaults and creepy forests are also featured.
Black Desert Online’s Savage Rift Mode Revamped
The Savage Rift Horde mode of Black Desert Online gets revamped. The most notable of the changes is the number of monster spawns was cut around 40% making the game’s runthrough last about 20 minutes. There is also a reduction of cooldown times of about 50% for siege weapons like the Hwacha and Lynch. Each playthrough’s rewards have been reduced but the rewards vs playing time were increased.
