Anthem Won’t Have Loot Boxes Because They Don’t Serve Any Purpose, Producer Says

Michael Gamble, lead producer on Anthem recently tweeted announcing that the action RPG will not have loot boxes as they would serve no purpose. He added that the game will instead have cosmetic microtransactions. One would assume he is refraining from including loot boxes considering so many countries already see it as a form of gambling. Irrespective of the producer’s rationale, he maintains there will be no loot boxes. Anthem will be dropping on February 22 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Fortnite’s patch 7.20 has arrived on all platforms, and this update includes the return of the controversial redeployable gliders from the game’s 6th season.
