Super Animal Royale Free to Play for a Limited Time

The cuddly but violent cartoon-ish battle royale Super Animal Royale is free to play for a limited time on Steam! Pixile Studios has launched a free weekend for this critter battle royale as a means to let players try the game as it launches on Steam Early Access. The free weekend runs from now until Sunday, December 16th. The game features over 50 adorable animal breeds which players can choose from. Matches start with up to 64 other animals that get dropped by a giant eagle onto an island.


Artifact Player Count Declines

It seems that Artifact’s player count is declining according to the numbers found in SteamCharts and SteamDB. The game launched back on November 29 and has reached a concurrent player count of 60,740, however it has since declined to 12,670 players just recently. The decline has been steep but the game still remains in the top 20 best-selling games on Steam right now. The game didn’t have a smooth start having bad reviews because of monetization. One of the most expensive cards in the game costs $20.


Viscera Cleanup Detail Gets New DLC

Viscera Cleanup Detail, a game where players clean up after international super spies, is getting a new DLC! The Vulcan Affair will let players clean up after Fox Huntington. Apparently, he made a huge mess after attacking Dr. Hades’ secret lair. The lair has laser sharks, and other super-villain stuff, and players will need to pick up debris, scrub away filth, seal bullet holes, and basically make the place spotlessly clean as if nothing happened there. The expansion is available now on Steam.


Dead By Daylight Has a New Killer

Dead by Daylight’s new update Darkness Among Us has rolled out, bringing a free map plus a paid DLC that unlocks a new killer and survivor. The new map is called Mount Ormond Resort, and is set in an abandoned resort in Canada. The new killer is called The Legion, and they’re a violent cult-like gang of teens. They come with different cosmetic looks, but their playstyles and abilities remain the same. The new survivor, on the other hand, is Jeff Johansen who’s described as “an artist with a heart of gold.”


Ashen’s PC Multiplayer Issues Have Been Fixed

Ashen’s multiplayer functionality should now be working properly as developer A44 has released an update to fix it. Ashen, one of the very first games to release in the Epic Game Store was met with some negativity since the game had some multiplayer issues when it released. The developers acknowledged the issue immediately and worked on a fix. They also advised making sure to launch the game via the Epic Game Store so that there won’t be any problems with the matchmaking functionality in-game.


Sea of Thieves Gets Festive with One Last Patch for 2018

Sea of Thieves is getting its last patch for the year with 1.4.1. The patch is bringing Gilded Gifts to the game. This will introduce the Pirate Lord to all the taverns for just the month of December. If you do find him, he will give you the Gilded Voyage. The catch is that you can only get one out of the four. If you are a four-man crew, that would not be a problem as each member could get one and all of you can go on the journey together. You can find high-value rewards plus see festive decorations.


The Escapists 2’s Snow Way Out Update Available Now

The Escapists 2 has a new update, and it stars Santa’s little worker elves. The new update is called Snow Way Out, and it looks like Santa’s Elves are tired of him and his little robots that are busy making the elves’ lives miserable. With the new update, players must find a way to escape while attempting to dodge the guards, outsmart the robots, and acquiring weapons such as candy canes. The DLC is available now as a free add-on on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.


Insurgency Sandstorm Out Now

Insurgency: Sandstorm is out now on PC! This highly-anticipated shooter is finally available for eager players after a successful run of closed betas and an open beta that also recently ended. Developer New World Interactive said that players can expect “an incredible amount of content” for players to enjoy. The devs also promise “new maps, vehicles, weapons, and more, all free of charge” that will be coming in future updates. the game currently has a Very Positive rating on Steam.


Warhammer 4K: Gladius – Relics Of War Gets Tyranids DLC

Warhammer 40,000: Gladius is getting a new expansion called Tyranids. As the name implies the new expansion will be bringing the new playable race Tyranids to the game. They are a very different faction as they come with new gameplay mechanics as well as new features. The Tyranids are a “ravenous, hungry swarm” they can actually consume Gladius Prime if they wanted to. They will show no mercy and destroy anything in their path. Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Tyranids DLC will launch in January 2019.


The Crew 2 is Free to Play All Weekend

Ubisoft has announced that The Crew 2 is free to play all weekend! From now until December 17th, players will get to access the full game plus the newest addition, the Demolition Derby discipline. The PvP mode, including hundreds of challenges and more are also available. Players who will purchase the game after the free weekend will get to carry over their progression and at the same time get a discount of 67%. Existing players who participate in the free weekend will also get a free exclusive vehicle on December 17th.


Survival MMO Population Zero Early Access and Alpha Announced

Population Zero is a brand new survival and MMO game that is set in an alien world called Kepler. The game is from Enplex Games and unlike other games, they don’t plan to put this on early access but through alpha and beta tests only. In order to guarantee a spot in the alpha and beta testings, Founders Packs are available for sale. Sign-ups for the Population Zero alpha are available right now. The schedule for this is for January 2019, the Open Beta will release soon after the alpha.


DayZ Leaves Early Access, Free Weekend on Steam Announced

After spending five years in Early Access, DayZ has finally fully launched. To celebrate, Bohemia Interactive has announced a free weekend for the game on Steam which will run from now until Monday, December 17th. The game is also currently on sale for 15% off, then will be back to its regular price by Monday, December 17th as well. During its Early Access run, the game received 1,300 updates, while over 19,000 bugs have been fixed. The developers promised they’re going to continually support DayZ with new content and features.


Free-to-Play PES 2019 Lite Launched

Konami launched a free-to-play version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 named PES 2019 LITE. This version of PES is surely not as complete as the original, but offers content that soccer fans will appreciate. The content includes unrestricted access to myClub mode and PES League mode. In the PES League mode, players take part in 3-versus-3 co-op matches and partake in time-limited tournaments. Players may also play with their friends in offline exhibition matches.

Fortnite’s Creative Mode is Now Available for Everyone

Epic has awarded all players the ability to indulge in Fortnite’s Creative mode. Player restrictions to Creative Mode have been lifted, and now everyone can create what they want with their own islands. When the mode was announced, it went up early for Battle Pass users on December 6th, but can now be played by anyone with a Fortnite account. Players have reacted overwhelmingly positive to the change, and now that there are no restrictions Epic invites you to demonstrate your creativity.


500-Player Battle Royale for PlanetSide Arena Revealed

Developer Daybreak Games has revealed the next entry to PlanetSide, its large-scale multiplayer FPS series. The new game is PlanetSide Arena, and it is set to launch next month on PC, and will come with battle royale modes. Arena takes the PlanetSide series to a new direction with its solo and team-based battle royale with 100 players, as well as its 500-player Massive Clash mode. Other modes such as Capture The Flag, Team Deathmatch, Search And Destroy, and Conquest will come in the future.


Metro Exodus Has Gone Gold, To Release a Week Early

4A Games has announced that they will release Metro Exodus a week earlier than expected. In a tweet, the studio expressed that the game has gone gold which means that the game is at the stage where discs can be prepared for the release. The revised date for the much-anticipated release is February 15, 2019. More good news for the fans read that movie based on the metro book series has been published and are in stores.

Soulcalibur 6 Nier: Automata Character Pack Arrives Next Week

Soulcalibur 6 is getting its NieR: Automata crossover next week! The Nier: Automata Character Pack will arrive on December 18th and will come as part of the Season Pass. The character pack features 2B who also comes with her dual blades Virtuous Contract & Virtuous Treaty, plus her own stage and background music. Additional costume, stickers, parts, and weapons are also included. Players should also note that an update for the base game will roll out before the character pack releases.


GRIS Now Available on Steam

The beautifully-drawn, highly-anticipated adventure game GRIS is out now on Steam! The game tells the story of a girl named Gris, who’s living in her own little world while dealing with a painful experience. Her dress manifests her sorrow, granting her with new abilities as she navigates in her own faded reality. Her world is free from danger, frustration, or death. The game features “light puzzles, platforming sequences, and optional skill-based challenges” that will reveal more of Gris’ world.


More Mortal Kombat 11 Details Revealed

New details for Mortal Kombat 11 have been revealed, almost a week after it was first unveiled at The Game Awards. Mortal Kombat 11 is set to be released on April 23, 2019, and will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. NetherRealm also announced that a community event is planned for January 17th where we can all see new gameplay. The game will also get a Kombat Pass that will also come with a Premium Edition.


The Division 2’s Technical Alpha Announced

Ubisoft has announced a closed technical alpha for its upcoming Tom Clancy game, The Division 2. The technical alpha is scheduled from December 15th until the 18th, and will be available for pre-selected players only on PC. Players who will take part in the alpha will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement, which means they can’t record, or even share anything about the game. A beta test for the game will also be held for players who pre-ordered the game, although Ubisoft is yet to assign a date for it.
