Age of Empires IV 2022 Roadmap Revealed

Relic and Xbox have released their roadmap for Age of Empires 4 that will begin with the Winter 2021 update.

AGE OF EMPIRES 4 ROADMAP

 

The Age of Empires 4 Patch 7989 is now live and includes bug fixes, performance tweaks, and quality of life improvements.

The next big update for the game is the Winter 2021 update and will come with hundreds of balance changes, bug fixes, and new features.

 
 

AoE 4 Winter 2021 Update Features:

  • You can now turn on and view in-game scores.
  • The Chinese Dynasty button and UI have moved to the bottom left-hand corner.
  • You can now view the map post-match.
  • The mini-map now has improved readability tweaks.
  • The French Hulk ship has new balance tweaks.
  • Cavalry will now struggle more against crossbowmen and spearmen.
  • The cost of the Chinese repeater crossbow reduced.
  • The Mongol Superior Mobility adjusted.
  • The Rus civilization infinite Relic duplication issue is fixed.

The next large update for the game is the Spring 2022 patch, including further changes and features.

AoE 4 Spring 2022 Update Features:

  • A new global build queue added to the game.
  • The unit stat card will see adjustments for improved readability at a glance.
  • Expect hotkey changes to movement and more.
  • New taunts and cheats added for Age Legacy.
  • Tweaks to AI include easy and difficult adjustments to reflect the challenges.
  • Waypoint indicators added for quality of life improvement.

These are just some of the changes you can expect in Age of Empires 4 over the next couple of large patches, and you can expect more throughout 2022.
