Epic Games Store’s Free PC Games for This Week
This week’s Epic Games Store giveaway features Flotsam and a special limited-time offer for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. Flotsam is particularly worth checking out as it will make its Epic Games Store debut on November 6, almost a year after its official Steam launch. The game spent six years in Early Access before its full release and has since received a warm reception from players looking for a more relaxed city-building experience.
Unlike traditional city builders, Flotsam takes place in a flooded world where players must turn ocean garbage, driftwood, and other salvaged materials into a functioning floating town. Its peaceful atmosphere, ocean setting, and resource management make it a good choice for anyone looking for a cozy game to unwind with this week.
Flotsam Free on Epic Games Store
Flotsam puts players in charge of a group of survivors known as drifters who must build a new home in a world covered by water. You’ll collect floating plastic, salvage materials from the remains of civilization, and recycle everything into houses, workshops, and gardens. Keeping your community alive also means securing clean water, preparing food, and making sure everyone stays healthy in an environment affected by pollution.
Exploration is another important part of the experience. You can sail across flooded ruins and forgotten islands, rescue stranded survivors and friendly animals, and discover old-world technology to improve your settlement. Each drifter also has their own story, with specialists such as the Birdkeeper, Chemist, and Electrician unlocking new buildings, technologies, and quests. As your floating town grows, you’ll develop production systems, cleaner energy sources, and ways to deal with pollution-related diseases, gradually turning a collection of floating scraps into a self-sustaining community.
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms – Epic Games Special Offer
Epic is also giving away a massive bonus for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. Players who log in via the Epic Games Store between November 6 and November 13 can claim Morte’s Champions of Renown Pack. Valued at over $100, this pack adds Morte, the wisecracking floating skull from Planescape: Torment, to your roster. The bundle also unlocks Nordom, Donaar, Sentry, and Sheila, grants 32 Platinum Chests for each, provides two week-long potions, and includes an exclusive Kapak Draconian familiar.
Inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, the base game mixes strategy, management, and adventure where you optimize formations and battle waves of monsters even while offline.
Before the new rewards arrive on Thursday, you can still claim the current Epic Games Store freebie, Sorry We’re Closed. It remains available to add to your library until the weekly rotation changes at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 4 PM BST.
