When Does MotorSlice Release?

MotorSlice officially launches today, Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Global unlock times are set for 7 AM PDT, 10 AM EDT, 3 PM BST, and 4 PM CEST. The game is available simultaneously on PC via Steam and GOG, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Pricing is highly competitive for a new release. You can expect the standard store cost to hover around $20, with regional pricing applied globally.

High-Stakes Parkour and Brutalist Boss Battles

Regular Studio—a two-person development team—has built an expansive world inside Unreal Engine 5. You control Slicer P, a protagonist armed with a chainsaw and accompanied by a hovering camera drone named O.R.B.I.E.

The core loop is heavily influenced by modern movement shooters and classic puzzle-platformers. You must navigate massive, brutalist megastructures by running across walls and leaping over lethal drops.

P’s primary tool allows her to plunge her chainsaw into electrified walls to alter her trajectory. This momentum is essential for scaling the environment and reaching the critical weak points of massive enemy machines.

Boss encounters are immense, functioning more like moving puzzles than traditional combat arenas. You must analyze the attack patterns of colossal excavators and industrial scrapers before committing to a strike.

While the ambition is undeniable, the controls occasionally falter. The unique drone-camera perspective struggles to keep up during rapid directional changes—often resulting in fatal falls.

How Does MotorSlice Run on the Steam Deck?

MotorSlice runs well on the Steam Deck, as reviewed by SteamDeckHQ, performing best when locked at 40 FPS on the default Medium graphics preset. This configuration provides a smooth experience while navigating the complex platforming sections without draining the battery too rapidly.

Players willing to sacrifice visual fidelity can drop the settings to Low. This adjustment pushes the framerate closer to 60 FPS in certain areas.

However, reviewers note that the Low preset occasionally suffers from minor stuttering during heavily animated transitions, definitely not uncommon in many UE5 games. The Medium preset remains the optimal choice for portable stability.

Kira Buckland’s voice work adds surprising narrative weight to the quiet moments between frantic platforming sequences. These brief reprieves ground the intense action and build a unique dynamic between the protagonist and her robotic handler.

This title stands as a massive achievement for an indie studio. It offers satisfying mechanics, imposing enemy designs, and a memorable world for an entry price sitting nicely under $25.
