The Eikons battles are a real highlight of the game. The brutal, easy-to-follow real-time combat with exhilarating combos is, for me, the standout feature of FF XVI, a far cry from the “chill” turn-based combat. This is definitely a dark fantasy game, with a gloomy universe, a tragic, rather political storyline, and a lot of tension, which I like. The RPG aspect is less prominent, which may or may not appeal to some players.
