About this game

With a ton of insane unlockable weaponry, you can blast waves of armed electronic devices in the action-packed twin-stick shooter Monkey Barrels. You can try out many combinations to get the loadout that most closely matches your playing style.

 
  • 98 absurd weapons created out of everyday items including bottles, cans, blow dryers, umbrellas, and more.
  • Up to four weapons can be equipped at once by the player: two main weapons and two sub-weapons.
  • You can unleash a super attack that destroys nearby foes and projectiles when your “WILD POWER” meter fills up from taking damage.
  • Strong single-player story mode featuring enormous boss battles at the conclusion of each chapter.
  • Online multiplayer “Banana Scramble” mode for four to six players featuring monkeys against. monkey combat.
  • 22 distinct phases, each located in a different part of Japan.
  • Old-school images are given a unique new spin by “3D pixel art.”

Reviews:

Monkey Barrels is a great twin-stick shooter that perhaps plays it a little too safe at times. There’s a fantastic selection of unlockable guns and grenades, with some providing excellent visual treats and strategic advantages, but the level design leaves a lot to be desired thanks to its repetitive nature. The unlockable multiplayer mode is a decent distraction that’s fun for a while but ultimately lacks the same depth as the main story mode. There are stronger twin-stick shooters available on the Switch, but this is nevertheless a welcome addition.
