THE WORST STAR WARS GAMES EVER RELEASED

10. KINECT STAR WARS

At number 10 is Kinect Star Wars, which was a game especially made for Xbox 360’s Kinect. It lets you take advantage of Kinect’s technology as gameplay involves a lot of physical movements — which sounded good on paper, right? Wrong. Players think the gameplay is repetitive and gets boring — sure, seeing Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers busting a move for a dance-off is meme-worthy, but for serious Star Wars fans, this game mode is just ridiculous. Elsewhere, the game bored players’ skulls from its lackluster boss battles, disappointing Lightsaber movement, and forgettable campaign, which makes this game one of the worst Star Wars games ever made.

9. STAR WARS JEDI ARENA

At number 9 is Star Wars: Jedi Arena, a game based on Episode 4: A New Hope, and was released back in 1983 for the Atari 2600. What made this game one of the worst Star Wars games is that its gameplay is just tiring, to say the least. Sure, critics praised its Star Wars-themed visuals and sounds, but having to attack and defend at the same time sure gets frustrating. The game had two Jedi Knights just sitting there like there’s nothing going on, defending themselves from laser blasts from the Seeker by “swinging” their Lightsabers left-right, while trying to attack each other’s shields. The player who received three direct hits loses, while the other is named Jedi Master. Do this after a few rounds, and you’ll surely be done with the game and pick up another less-boring one.

8. STAR WARS EPISODE 2 ATTACK OF THE CLONES

Let’s move on to number 8 in our list of the Worst Star Wars Game ever made, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones for the Game Boy Advance. This video game was based from the movie of the same title, so players really expected a lot from it. However, the game received negative reviews due to its redundant and non-challenging levels, poor controls, poor level design, and the lack of checkpoints. This is one of those games that shouldn’t have been released, or even pitched in the first place, as it’s simply just a waste of anyone’s time and money, and you’re better off just watching the movie.

7. STAR WARS YODA STORIES

At number 7 is Star Wars: Yoda Stories which was released for Game Boy Color and PC. The game failed in a lot of ways because it doesn’t have a central goal, or even a plot for starters. Yoda Stories is simply giving Luke Skywalker the role of errand boy, as he goes from completing one task to another. Poor Luke. The game also received negative reviews due to its lack of animation, poor visuals as compared to the PC version, and the lack of controls for the character. This game could easily be one of those games that must be thrown away into space and be forgotten it ever existed.

6. STAR WARS MASTERS OF TERÄS KÄSI

Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi is a fighting game launched back in 1997 for Playstation 1. Again, this is one of those games that tried to bank on the name, Star Wars, but failed. Players will be able to choose fighters Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, and Darth Vader as they try to re-learn the lost art of Teras Kasi. While this could easily lure in avid Star Wars fans, what made this game one of the worst Star Wars titles was its character movement, uninteresting combos, and unbalanced characters. The characters move so slow, that no amount of button bashing would make them move faster. Combos are plain boring, and some characters are overpowered. This goes to show that not anyone can release a fighting game because they can.

5. STAR WARS FLIGHT OF THE FALCON

Star Wars: Flight of the Falcon was released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance. In Flight of the Falcon, players control the Millennium Falcon as they go through missions that were inspired by the original trilogy. The game is number five on our list because although its got awesome sound effect and background music, it lacked a lot in terms of gameplay. First of all, the game is not easy on the eyes — it’s a pixelated mess! You’re trying to hit TIE Fighters coming at you, but your reticule is so small, it’s almost non-existent. Controls are also a pain as it only allows you to shoot in the middle section, although some fighters come in from the sides. Oh, it doesn’t have any sort of checkpoint too, so once you power off your GBA, it’s back to the start you go! Do yourself a favor and never pick up this game.

4. STAR WARS OBI-WAN

At number 4 is Star Wars: Obi-Wan which was released for the Xbox back in December 2001. The game was first announced as a PC game, but for some reason, everything that was promised, including objective-based multiplayer modes and online play, were completely removed which resulted to a really horrible game. As the title suggests, players control Obi-Wan who wields a Lightsaber. Apart from going from Point A to Point B and defeating enemies in between, there’s not much the game offers. Well, Obi-Wan also turned out to be quite an acrobat as he can flip forward like a gymnast, but that’s just it. Force powers are a plus, though, as it’s easily available in the game.

3. STAR WARS ROGUE SQUADRON 3 REBEL STRIKE

At number 3 is Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike, which was an anticipated game from Factor 5 as it released two highly-rated Star Wars game prior to Rebel Strike. However, the game failed to deliver because of its poor game design. Factor 5 attempted to introduce a story, which critics think was unnecessary. Gameplay also involved mostly on-foot missions instead of players controlling a starfighter, which was a huge disappointment for fans of the franchise. Character weapons are also automatically locked to enemy soldiers so most of the time players will just smash buttons which made it quite repetitive. The game had so much potential, but also had too much going on. It got praised on its graphics, and dogfights, though.

2. STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS REPUBLIC HEROES

We’re almost done with our list, and on number 2 of the worst Star Wars Games Ever made is Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes. The game released back in 2009 and has received Mostly Negative reviews on its Steam page. The game lets players play as Jedi heroes as they “slice and dice” their way using Lightsabers and Force powers. Reviews cited its gameplay as repetitive — imagine just slicing and dicing your way all throughout the game, who would want that, right? Its level design is also linear, and its controls are not keyboard-friendly. The game could probably be great for younger audiences, but for hardcore fans, it’s best to skip this.

1. STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS LIGHTSABER DUELS

Capping off our list is Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Lightsaber Duels which is number 1 on our list of the Worst Star Wars Games Ever made. It was released for the Nintendo Wii in 2008, and was not received well by players and critics alike. Lightsaber Duels had cartoonish visuals, which made it look like it came straight out of Disney Channel. The gameplay also involves swinging the Wii remote to no end, which gets tiring in the long run. Not all movements are also translated into play as the game had really poor motion control recognition — imagine flailing your arms like that to no avail?! This game is best left for younger gamers as it could easily catch their attention with its visuals.
