Just yesterday, new gameplay trailers and even a 36-minute gameplay deep dive were released. They provide extensive insights into missions, gadgets, and combat. Here you’ll find everything about the release, price, editions, pre-order bonuses, and gameplay.

007 First Light Release Date & Platforms

The new James Bond game 007 First Light will be released on March 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The story offers a never-before-seen origin story. Bond is only 26 years old and still has to earn his 00 license.

The Deluxe Edition includes 24-hour early access, four exclusive outfits, a new weapon skin, and four item skins. The regular price for the Deluxe Edition is €79.99. There’s also a significantly more expensive edition: the Legacy Edition.

The Legacy Edition of 007 First Light includes the full game, all Deluxe Edition content, an exclusive weapon skin “Golden Gun,” the outfit “Obsidian Gold Suit,” a replica of the Golden Gun with stand and hidden compartment for your home, a certificate of authenticity, and a steel case with magnetic closure. This edition will be available for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC and will cost €300.

Deep Dive Trailer & Gameplay Features

It’s immediately clear that 007 First Light is developed by the creators of Hitman. Every mission begins in stealth mode, and you can complete them entirely undetected. There are restricted areas you’re not allowed to enter, but the game introduces a new bluffing mechanic. You can convince guards that you belong there. Bluffing consumes instinct, a limited resource, so you can’t talk your way out of everything.

In addition to instinct, you also manage two other resources: a battery and a chemical resource. These power your Omega watch, which contains your gadgets, such as a smoke grenade and a laser that can blind enemies or destroy objects. You can also hack phones and other devices in the world to distract enemies or even perform crazy actions, like changing the direction of a plane to eliminate enemies on board.

As mentioned, you begin as an undetected spy, which means you can’t just kill everyone. In combat, you must use the new parry and strike mechanics, as well as the grabbing mechanic that lets you throw enemies off ledges. Your license to kill is only granted when an enemy truly intends to kill you. Only then will MI6 allow you to use firearms. However, the developers have confirmed that missions cannot fail simply because you aren’t stealthy. At the start of any mission, you can provoke an enemy into attacking you and then complete the mission guns blazing.
