- The update standardizes Quartz names, Tetracyclic Tower designations, and lore entities across PC, PlayStation, and Switch platforms.
- Steam players can select an optional 1.06.3 rollback branch to preserve the original localization script.
Nihon Falcom and GungHo Online Entertainment America have deployed update 1.07 for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. Dubbed the “Legacy Patch,” this update serves as the definitive bridge to the upcoming sequel.
The patch directly synchronizes legacy world-building terms with the broader franchise nomenclature before Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter arrives.
What Does the Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Legacy Patch Change?
The Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter 1.07 update replaces legacy English names for Quartz, Tetracyclic Towers, enemies, and items with terms used in modern franchise entries.
Nihon Falcom adjusted critical nouns like Archaism and Esmelas Tower, ensuring narrative consistency across the overarching Zemurian timeline for both returning veterans and new players. The official Steam announcement confirms adjustments to core terminology. Locations critical to the narrative arc of the second chapter received targeted renames.
The four Tetracyclic Towers now feature their established franchise designations: Esmelas Tower (formerly Jade), Amberl Tower (formerly Amber), Carnelia Tower (formerly Crimson), and Sapphirl Tower (formerly Azure).
Item classifications received similar adjustments. Quartz previously named “Arts Defense” now displays as “Shield,” while “Blade-Type” quartz names reflect the specific status ailments they inflict in battle.

English Voice Line Re-Recordings and Localization Refinements
GungHo Online Entertainment America updated several English voice lines to match established series pronunciations. Voice actors re-recorded dialogue referencing major geographic regions and key characters.
The official update portal lists pronunciation revisions for core entities including Liberl, Calvard, Zemuria, Zin, Loewe, Hamel, and Auslese. The developers noted that while most affected voice lines feature updated recordings, a small selection of legacy lines could not be revised and remains in their original state.
Localization adjustments extend beyond English audio. French and German scripts received targeted edits to improve narrative flow and eliminate minor grammatical inconsistencies.
Version 1.07 also resolves several technical bugs. Nihon Falcom patched memory-related stability issues alongside crashes occurring during specific operational menus across all platforms.

How Does Patch 1.07 Prepare Players for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter?
Patch 1.07 aligns narrative continuity directly with Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, which launches on September 17, 2026. The terminology adjustments ensure seamless save file transitions and eliminate conflicting lore designations between the two connected games across PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
For PC players who prefer the previous localization style, GungHo added a dedicated “1.06.3″ beta branch on Steam. Players can switch branches via Steam properties to preserve previous text.
Physical edition distribution varies by region. Publisher PM Studios recently confirmed that physical Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 editions in Europe and Australia will launch on September 29, 2026, while PlayStation 5 physical copies remain on schedule for September 17.
