Techland Talk UI In New Dying 2 Know Episode
As part of the Dying Light 2 Stay Human promotion, Techland has been releasing episodic videos for their Dying 2 Know web series that focus on different areas of the game’s development process. The latest video focuses on UI and accessibility.

DYING 2 KNOW ALL ABOUT DYING LIGHT 2 STAY HUMAN
In the latest Dying 2 Know episode, Techland discusses the upcoming UI design and how thousands of hours of playtesting drive development.
During the discussion, Agata Sykula, UI Producer on Dying Light 2, says that playtesting helped them create a customizable HUD so that fans of all genres can come into the game and choose what information they want to be displayed.
The idea is that players who prefer the action genre can choose only to have their health and stamina displayed, and those who like RPGs can have more detailed information and feedback.
Techland also says they will tweak the UI to improve the player experience even after Dying Light 2 releases.
That approach towards the UI comes alongside another focus for Techland, which is accessibility.
Sykula explains in the video that players’ will have the opportunity to change subtitle sizes, select background color, and enable speaker names.
There are also options to hold buttons rather than tap them in Quick Time Events, adjust color-blind settings, and select a profile designed for left-handed players.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human releases on February 4, 2022, for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
