Greenheart Games has announced that its cozy management sim, Tavern Keeper, will finally launch into Early Access on November 3, 11 years after it entered development as a follow-up to the studio’s previous title, Game Dev Tycoon.
After more than a decade of anticipation, Greenheart Games, the developer behind Game Dev Tycoon, is to open the doors to Tavern Keeper after 11 years of development.
The studio announced the milestone on Steam, where it said: “We’ve been quietly cooking on Tavern Keeper for a while, but now… WE ARE SOOOO READY FOR YOU!

A Decade in the Making
Greenheart Games first began development on the upcoming fantasy RPG after the release of its previous title, Game Dev Tycoon, in 2013. After years of working quietly on the game, Greenheart Games co-founder Patrick Klug says the team is “thrilled” that players will soon enter Tavern Keeper.
The game will launch into Early Access on Steam on November 3, 2025. For those who can’t wait another month, a new demo of the game is now available on its Steam store page, just in time for Steam Next Fest next week.
What Players Can Expect in Early Access
The Early Access launch of Tavern Keeper will see players build and decorate taverns in a fun, fantasy world, welcoming customers in to enjoy a drink and take a load off, wherever their journey has taken them.
Steven Pacey (Blake’s 7) narrates the campaign, which unfolds through a charming storybook. Players can personalize their experience with adjustable game mechanics and can even choose a more casual approach through Freeplay mode.
