Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled (CTRNF) is the remaster of the classic Crash Team Racing on PS1 from 1999. This remaster was developed by the Canadian Beenox team and published by Activision. Following the huge success and hype around Crash Bandicoot’s return with the N. Sane Trilogy remake. Nitro-Fueled modernizes the classic racing game by Naughty Dog’s Crash.

Almost 6 years after its launch, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled has finally hit a major milestone. The Beenox team and Activision announced on 17 June 2025 that CTR Nitro-Fueled sold over 10 million copies.
A fantastic achievement for the Crash racing remake, with Beenox thanking the community for all the support. This success, along with N. Sane Trilogy, led to the release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time in 2020—a new main chapter after more than 20 years since the original trilogy. There’s also hope for CTRNF to come to PC.

This news seems to cement CTR Nitro-Fueled as one of the biggest Crash returns alongside N. Sane Trilogy and 4. It also brings some comfort to the community after Activision’s refusal to start development on Crash Bandicoot 5 in 2024, due to sales below expectations for Crash 4.
