According to Corden, Bethesda is not abandoning their proprietary engine. Instead, they are integrating specific, high-performance features from Unreal Engine 5 into the Creation Engine.

Starfield Gets Help from The Coalition
Bethesda isn’t working alone on this renovation. Microsoft has reportedly mobilized its Advanced Technology Group (ATG) to assist.
More notably, The Coalition—the studio behind Gears of War and masters of Unreal Engine—is involved. Experts like Kate Rayner are allegedly helping Bethesda optimize the engine “across the board.”
This collaboration signals Microsoft’s intent to ensure Bethesda’s technology finally matches the scope of their ambitions.
