Skyblivion Delayed to 2026 But Fans Can Explore the New Interactive Map Now

Skyblivion now targets 2026. Rebelzize shares insight on the delay and current progress, plus a new interactive map to explore.

Earlier this year, Elder Scrolls fans were over the moon as Skyblivion, the much awaited mod, was announced to be releasing this year. In a surprise move, an official Oblivion Remastered launched which worried many fans about the mod’s future and success.

But that was quickly put to rest as fans assured the anticipation for it is still there, and even Bethesda gave its blessing to Rebelzize and the team. However, more challenges came about and as we near the end of the year, the team decided to move the launch to 2026 instead.

They’re not leaving us empty handed though, as an interactive map is now available for everyone to explore. It’s probably also a way to tell fans, “don’t worry, it’s here and it’s coming.”

 

The Elder Scrolls Skyblivion Officially Delayed to 2026

The Skyblivion team announced that more time is needed to finish Skyblivion. In a Youtube video, main dev Rebelzize explained that although many parts of the game are in great shape, there are still a few things like the Imperial City and even the navmesh that need completing.

   

There’s also a cinematic final showdown between Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon that does not just need finishing but is in need of people to complete it. And that’s why they are currently looking for a renderer, a set dresser, a VFX artist, and a destruction sim artist.

He also shared the difficulties in completing some parts which will now have to be added at a future time. Since this is made by fans and isn’t really a structured official team like Bethesda, people do come and go for different reasons and it can leave loose ends which the team has no current capacity to fix or finish.

   

Between the YT video and the announcement thread on X, fans can get a clear picture of where the team and the game is. It’s there but not 100%. Considering how long we’ve waited for it, what’s one more year. Well, if they make this window, that is.

But, 2025 is still not leaving without a bit of Skyblivion out in the open. The team, having completed the Skyblivion world map, is now available as an interactive map at the Skyblision website.

   

For now, fans can enjoy The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered. It is available on PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It is also included on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC.
