Sony has revealed this month’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup for Extra and Premium members, and while new games are always a treat (after all, that’s the core of what you’re paying for), May 2025 feels like another letdown. Subscribers find themselves on the short end of the stick once again with a massive wave of games leaving the service, and a disappointingly short list replacing them.
PlayStation Plus Premium And Extra Free Games For May 2025
You’d think that with 22 games leaving the Game Catalog this month, Sony would counterbalance that loss by padding the subscription with a solid lineup of new titles. But that’s unfortunately not the case.
Sony has announced only 10 games for May 2025’s Game Catalog update, and that includes just one classic title for Premium users. That being said, there are still a few highlights worth noting.
Headlining this month’s additions is Sand Land, the highly-rated action RPG based on Akira Toriyama’s manga. It’s an exciting inclusion, especially for fans of stylized open-world adventures.
Also noteworthy is the Full Time Edition of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted, which has been updated and remade to include the full slate of classic FNAF experiences. This includes Five Nights at Freddy’s, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, Five Nights at Freddy’s 3, Five Nights at Freddy’s 4, and Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy is also entering the catalog, bringing gritty survival horror FPS gameplay to PS players. An enhanced version of the trilogy has recently been announced and those who own the originals will receive a free upgrade. However, it remains unclear whether this applies to PlayStation Plus users who download the trilogy via the subscription.

PlayStation Plus Premium Classics For May 2025
Much like last month, Sony has opted for minimal additions to the Classics Catalog and this time, it’s even shorter. Only a single classic title is being added in May: Battle Engine Aquila.
While the game itself is a cult favorite known for its large-scale vehicle-based combat, it’s far from the kind of big-name classic that Premium subscribers may have hoped for especially considering how many games are exiting the service this month.
