The wait might be a week longer than usual, but it’s definitely worth it! This month’s PS Plus Extra Game Catalog delivers an incredible lineup of titles. While God of War Ragnarok is undeniably the headliner (and with good reason as it’s one of the highest-rated PS games ever), the other additions are equally deserving of attention.

Gamers can dive into the Yakuza world with Like a Dragon Gaiden, explore action-packed worlds in Atlas Fallen, or enjoy the immersive storytelling of Citizen Sleeper. And that’s just to name a few.

In total, 11 games will be added to Game Catalog, two of which will be for Premium subscribers only. It is a shorter Premium list than usual and does not include any PS VR2 titles this month.

PlayStation Plus Premium Classics For Janaury 2025

Here are the titles entering the Premium tier this month:

• Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (PS4,PS5)
• Medievil II (PS4,PS5)

Original publication – Playstation Plus members, whichever tier it is, ended 2024 incredibly. It wasn’t the usual monthly game drop but the Playstation 30th Anniversary Celebration was in full swing. So you got anniversary events on one hand and the holiday bonanza on the other. But as the dust has finally settled with those, all eyes were on the Essential games this month, gauging how Sony will follow the holidays and how it will open 2025.

Unfortunately, most members were underwhelmed with the January Essential games. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, and The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe did not quite do it for subscribers. There is one more game drop for PS Plus higher tiers this month, so there is one more chance to turn this around.

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium January Games Reveal Time

Because of how the schedule falls on the dates this month, the reveal and game drop for January is one week later than usual. We’ve seen that with the Essential games and it is the case for the Extra and Premium too.

Normally, we get the announcement for Extra Game Catalog every second Wednesday of the month, and will be available the following Tuesday. This time however, instead of today, it will be revealed on January 15, and will be available to subscribers on January 21. The reveal is expected to be released at 8:30am PST / 4:30pm GMT / 5:30pm CET.

On the brighter side of things, because of the delay, we have one more week before the games leaving the catalog do so. There are 11 titles that will make their exit on the 21st including great games like Resident Evil 2, two Mana games, and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.
