Project Songbird: Official Release Date and Platforms Confirmed

In Project Songbird, the silence of the woods is about to be shattered by a narrative horror experience that explores the terrifying “dark side” of the creative process.

If you’ve ever felt the pressure of a deadline, imagine trying to finish a music album while something ancient watches you from the tree line. And you’ll get to feel that tension when the horror launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 26.

Project Songbird: Survival, Music, and the Macabre

You play as Dakota, a musician who retreats to a legendary West Virginia cabin to record a new album and escape a crippling case of writer’s block. However, Project Songbird quickly shifts from a peaceful retreat into a fight for survival.

Far from being a walking simulator, the horror game features a mix of ranged and melee combat with upgradeable weapons and a high-stakes permadeath system that ensures every encounter with the forest’s “residents” feels earned and dangerous.

The Appalachian Nightmare: PS5, Xbox, and PC

Launching simultaneously on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game utilizes a film-like, cinematic aesthetic to bridge the gap between picturesque nature and surreal nightmarescapes.

Boasting a star-studded voice cast, including Valerie Rose Lohman (What Remains of Edith Finch) and Aleks Le (Persona 3: Reloaded), the 4-5 hour journey is designed to be a tight, intense experience from beginning to end.

Is Project Songbird Worth the Wait?

If you’re looking for a game that prizes atmosphere over action and leaves you questioning every shadow in your own hallway, then yes, Project Songbird is absolutely worth the entry fee this March. It’s a bold experiment in “musical horror” that hits all the right notes for fans of narrative-driven suspense.

Are you brave enough to finish the song, or are some stories better left unwritten in the woods?
