Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) is the much-anticipated new chapter in Capcom’s beloved series. It features an action RPG adventure in the Forbidden Lands, bringing the new generation of open-world gameplay where we play as Hunters.
With a significant graphic upgrade thanks to Capcom’s new RE Engine version. Adding new weapons to the 14 types from MH World, with new monster interactions and a further improved co-op multiplayer experience. This highly awaited chapter will launch on February 28, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Monster Hunter Wilds: How to Join Open Beta 2
Capcom’s team has confirmed the availability of the Open Beta 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds. The first weekend starts today, February 7, 2025, and runs until February 10. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam). The event will begin exactly at the following times by region:
- US: From 7:00 PM PT / 10:00 PM ET February 6 to 6:59 PM / 9:59 PM ET February 9, 2025
- Europe (CET): From 4:00 AM February 7 to 3:59 AM February 10, 2025
- Asia (UTC): From 03:00 AM Friday, February 7 to 02:59 AM February 10, 2025
Joining OBT 2 is very simple. Just head over to the Official Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Page, select your region in the top right corner, find the How to Participate section, and click on the platform you want to play on. Pre-download is already available and requires about 32GB of free space.

Monster Hunter Wilds: OBT 2 Content
The Open Beta 2 for MH Wilds is packed with new content. These additions complement the features already available from the first session. Notably, this beta includes:
- Flagship Monster: The new monster Arkveld will join Gypceros. There’s a High Difficulty Slaying Quest for Arkveld, unlockable by completing the Doshaguma Hunt quest. Simply talk to Alma to unlock new quests for both monsters.
- Training Area: A new dedicated area to train with various weapons, along with automatic revives and consumable items that won’t deplete with use.
- Private Lobby: Ability to create private lobbies for up to 16 players.
- Single Mode: Play solo and pause the game through the menu. You can also temporarily enter Multiplayer using the SOS Flare.
Additional new features beyond Beta 1 include the Character Creator, which already offers complete options for the full version. The Story Trial acts as a tutorial with the Chatacabra hunt, and the Doshaguma Hunt where you must defeat the Alpha of the pack. Participating in the Beta will reward you with the Test Bonus Pendant and the Bonus Item Pack. Plus, by completing the Beta Survey, you’ll receive a set of SNS Icons.

MH Wilds Exceeds Capcom’s Expectations
Since its reveal at The Game Awards 2023, Monster Hunter Wilds has excited fans. The gameplay showcase at Gamescom 2024 and the first Open Beta in late October 2024 have convinced many. MH Wilds is now one of the most anticipated games for early 2025.
On Steam, over 330,000 users have added it to their wishlist, with a peak of 463,798 players from the first October Beta. Capcom is very positive and hopeful for the success of Wilds, which with its popularity could help reach their target of approximately 13 million copies sold for Q1 2025, according to Capcom’s report.
