Microsoft continues to work on finalizing the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which will see two of the world’s largest gaming companies come together in a landmark deal worth $69 billion.
Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard will see Microsoft take ownership of hugely popular games like the Call of Duty franchise, World of Warcraft, and Diablo.
According to StatistaCharts, in 2021, Microsoft sat fourth behind Tencent, Sony, and Apple in global gaming revenue.
However, that could be about to change as Microsoft’s record acquisition of Activision Blizzard will see the company move up to second behind Tencent.
The acquisition will see Microsoft move up from earning $12.9 billion in global revenue from gaming to $21 billion.
